Fish absolutely can have personalities and it's so weird people argue against that. I've had tanks for the majority of my life now and I distinctly remember one fish that loved swimming at high speeds through the tank. He'd jump around, especially at night, but always stopped right before crashing into the glass. He was a joy to have.
I have a platy fish that liked to follow our disabled angelfish around and copy the way he Swam (swim bladder issue), he survived from a baby and didn't really like the other platties. Once the angelfish died, he was scared and we thought he wouldn't make it, but luckily we had bought some other platties after they all died (aka:The angelfish consumed every baby except the one) and he managed to get used to their presence. Now he bullies one that tried to fight him for the females! He is smaller than the other platies but he is the strongest.
The little noises you give the fish make me SO happy. This kind of contemplative, slow video is just wonderful, I can't wait to see where this channel goes next

Your videos make me feel connected with my child self, and honestly with a bit more research I'd love to make that childhood dream become a reality. I hope to see many more of your videos, and I will be watching all of them.
This the best, most cared for content I have seen in a very long time. The whole adventure was done perfectly. From the realities of repurposing an old tank and replanting/moving the scape multiple times, to the minecraft eating sound effect and the runescape music... I cant fully explain how amazing this video was! That tank looks amazing! Live plants and fish breeding brings the hobby to a different level!
Best aquatics videos along with the "no filter no co2 betta tank" that uses vegetables and fruit to filter water. I like that you aren't a youtuber in your presentation. You are a storyteller, an artist, and a human. I hate how commercial, formal and disingenuous we've become in youtube videos. This is a wonderful way to present your work, and the music and footage is top notch. Don't change anything and just enjoy the hobby for yourself like you seem to be doing currently!
Really inspiring to watch how everything came together and also the honesty of it when thing went wrong. But really wonderful that one can create a self-cleaning ecosystem. I used hate cleaning my fish tank when I was a girl - just too much time-consuming work. This system is just so much better! Well done!
My guy, this is some of the best aquarium content on this site! I absolutely love how you actually follow the progress of the tank and show us the progress of the ecosystem and all the quirky behaviors of the inhabitants instead of just setting it up and showing us 30 seconds of B-roll at the end. You've made something fantastic here!
This is the exact formula I need to see in a RUclips video. I loved this. I could honestly listen to him talk about his fish, and their intriguing little lives in this ecosystem again and again. Thank you sir. You earned a like and a sub
My friend- GIVE US MORE VIDEOS!!! I’ve been waiting four months - at least give us one per month! You inspired me four months ago to set up my first aquarium - don’t leave us hanging like this!!!
I love the personality you give to your deskmates as they go anout their business in their small slice of the world. Susan waiting to be fed, the Gobi and Cory just chilling on their leaves like a couple of old timers sipping coffee at a park bench. Its all so tranquil 🥰 Thank you so much for sharing! Especially as you go through your design process, its very helpful for a 'fry' like me, so new to fish and aquariums.
Thank you RUclips algorithms. I was not even looking for a video of this nature but when I came across it I couldn't resist. I have previously unsubscribed from multiple aquarium related channels and so to find your video was a well needed breath of fresh air. Looking forward to watching all your catalogue! Happily subscribed😊
I've been considering trying aquascaping but i always had this preconception that it had to be big and bold for it to really satisfy me. This video pushed me over the edge, showing it can be small and low maintenance and still shine! Thank you! 🐠 💕
@@ApatheticBlogger i can definitely imagine that! I started making terrariums a year ago and have quite the collection. On to the next hobby!!! My house is going to be like traveling the world lol!
Hey, for who wants to know: I have a nano tank now in the same size as the one in the video and just added my first cory's ❤️ thanks so much for the inspiration i am in total love and already suffering from multiple tank syndrome lol.
the lil animations / text bubbles and animal crossing sound effects next to the fish make me SO happy 😭 this is beautiful! the was their shadows dance on the desk in the sunlight 🥺 you must get so distracted while working lmao
This video is so relaxing. Stand out from others on the hobby, because RUclipsrs are just trying to explain how everything should be done through your throat. This is just satisfying. Can’t wait to see more content from this channel.
Please don't change your style. There isn't much like it in this niche - dry humor, goofiness, thrift appreciation, blatant honesty, modesty (even if carefully crafted - any attempt at the same is increasingly rare in the aquascaping/terrarium-building realm), and ridiculous sound effects. It's apparently scratching an itch for a number of us.
The little noises/faces you made for the fish conversations were so cute and funny! I loved seeing the process of how you made the tank, and also how it grew by itself!
Man I love this channel. As an outsider looking at this hobby, I'm so used to watch more "professional" youtuber like serpadesign and antscanada that have more tools and experience. It's nice seeing people makes mistakes and using the resources they have to full advantage. Seeing you make mistakes and learning from it helps me see the depth and mastery this hobby have. I can only hope the best of lucks in your endeavor. Seeing passionate people improves their craft really makes me happy ❤ P.S love your editing style and dry humour
I love the extra sounds you made for the fish and how peaceful the overall video was! I love my dwarf corydoras, they seem to love hanging out in broad big leaves :)
I just... can't believe that this is "just your first channel" and "just a try at making videos". Dude the editing, the filming, the narrative - it...I mean you have 100k subs after a few weeks so you're obviously doing everything right. Did you have another channel before, is this your very first attempts at fish tanks and eco systems? I'm so curious about how why and with what background this came together. It's amazing, I love it!
Thank you for your kind words :p This is my first attempt at all of the above, though I did have one proper tank before these that got me into the hobby (seen as the source of guppies in video #1). I just thought 'omg I could watch this all day I'mma make more and film it'
@@tanksfornothin wow in that case...just a big load of kudos to you - you are absolutely slaying it and I think your view numbers speak for themselves. I honestly didn't think that someone could just pull this off without any video making background but I guess you are a natural ^^ Amazing and congratulations, I am looking forward to more of your videos! 🤗 also what I forgot to add - the channel name is just.. *chefs kiss*. That made me subscribe before even watching 😂
As someone who absolutely Loved her fish and frogs as a kid (but hasn’t had any practice with an aquarium since then) it would be such a blessing to have a video in this format for a low budget beginner build! I’d love love love to give this a try - especially with the goal of having a self sustaining ecosystem! All three videos have inspired me so much to set that goal! It’d be especially helpful to have some troubleshooting as a starting point to refer to before making the decision to devote hundreds of dollars into the hobby (and time into the research!) Truly hoping to see more of this gold from your channel, even if it is just more of your own builds! ❤
I've recently gotten a microscope and it's taught me something important; dirt isn't just a good place for good bacteria, it's already got it. It's a great way to make sure the tank has a diversity of microorganisms to keep the water pure.
Out of curiosity and all, how long did it take you to plan this channel? It obviously wasn't just something that happened randomly, as you've got too many valid skills for running such a channel for it to be your first. Just to clarify, there's nothing wrong with this, but I am curious about it :p You're clearly aware of what you want the channel to be, and I look forward to watching what you make.
It took me 6 months to develop a style of presentation I was happy with, but I first had the idea about a year ago. Thanks for the kind words and recognising the journey :)
Beautifully produced video showing the highs and lows of producing a wonder environment. love the characterisations given to the inhabitants. It’s almost ASMR!
the second plant you had on the island is bucephalandra i believe! it probably died since it shouldn’t be buried in substrate like anubias because of its rhizome
You really have a knack for making these videos. They flow, make you laugh, tell a story, and manage to leave me feeling calmer and happier by the end. The tanks are beautiful and interesting too. Thank you!
I requested it and he actually did it! Honestly, such refreshing content considering the aquarium community can be quite monotonous. Even the big channels don't have this style of editing, narration and quirkiness to them
I’m not sure if you’ll see this, but your videos are literally addicting, thank you for being in my recommendations and allowing me to enjoy a small piece of what I like to call, the beautiful side of RUclips.
Don't give a shit _how_ long it takes, I await your next video! 🤗💕 EDIT: YOU are exactly what RUclips was made for. Pure perfection in every way, editing, voice over, calm & gorgeous projects all in one video?! You're gonna need a few dozen more friends & family just to house all these new world's you're creating!
The only two struggles I have are finding space for new tanks, and convincing friends to try fishkeeping. Basically you've solved both problems with one idea :)
@@tanksfornothin Just had an idea for you & your channel... Public school classrooms! They're just full of little humans that would LOVE to learn about these tiny self sustaining environments. Just imagine them sitting there watching it everyday & getting to see something new or exciting?! If you have too many, maybe reach out & set up a coffee meeting with a teacher or two from your old school if it's close by or reach out yourself to the closest one to ya? When you do get to chat _tell_ them about your YT channel & ask them if they would be interested in adopting a tank for their classroom?! You could always suggest that the whole class watch your video of their classroom tank under construction. You could set it up with the teacher that when they have finished watching THAT video right as it ends YOU WALK IN, WITH THEIR NEW TANK TO SURPRISE THEM! Maybe, you could film the new tank IN the classroom? (No kids & No you for privacy reasons of course.) Just the tank inside of the classroom & post it as a YT "short" to further promote your channel! Betcha, THAT would get the word spread around & keep your overstock low. Teachers from _all over_ your whole country would start emailing you for one of these beauties. Hope this helps you to inspire an entirely new generation of children, for years to come. Just think about how this could positively help the whole planet, one day?! Teaching little kids about how special & important the natural balance is.🤞🍀 You're fantastic & you deserve the best of what life brings to you. 💕💕

That's what compelled me to start! I think most channels prefer the speediness of putting up a tank in one day, then filming some results.
Please come back.
The Cory claiming that one leaf is soooo adorable!

:))))))))))) SOON

@@tanksfornothinWOOHOOO! 🎉🎉
BE MORE SPECIFIC lol
I love the personality you give to your deskmates as they go anout their business in their small slice of the world. Susan waiting to be fed, the Gobi and Cory just chilling on their leaves like a couple of old timers sipping coffee at a park bench. Its all so tranquil 🥰 Thank you so much for sharing! Especially as you go through your design process, its very helpful for a 'fry' like me, so new to fish and aquariums.
Another Tanks for nothing video so soon? We're really being treated this month!
Corydoras are the best. Love their little cute wiggling behavior. They are so interactive as well. What a beautiful tank ❤
Thank you RUclips algorithms. I was not even looking for a video of this nature but when I came across it I couldn't resist. I have previously unsubscribed from multiple aquarium related channels and so to find your video was a well needed breath of fresh air. Looking forward to watching all your catalogue! Happily subscribed😊
the only tank youtuber that comes even a little close to how amazing these videos are is SerpaDesign and even his videos dont hit the same
That's very kind of you to say

I've been considering trying aquascaping but i always had this preconception that it had to be big and bold for it to really satisfy me. This video pushed me over the edge, showing it can be small and low maintenance and still shine!
Thank you! 🐠 💕
It's so fun and addicting! I started scaping big jars and now I have a whole collection

I love the little Cory that sat on the leaf to sunbathe and watch the world go by. What an interesting lil fella
this man is what all youtubers should strive to be, just good quality relaxing content
This video is so relaxing. Stand out from others on the hobby, because RUclipsrs are just trying to explain how everything should be done through your throat. This is just satisfying. Can’t wait to see more content from this channel.
I found this guy recently and it brought me back into the hobby can’t stop rewatching. Pls comeback 😂
There is something enchanting about a shallow water aquarium, like you took a slice of a possible creek you know.
I would almost call it a desktop pond
I don't think I've ever seen a fish "sit" on a leaf like that before. Really cute!
Glad you enjoyed :) I'm trying hard to match the feel with the next one which should be out soon
Man this guy made 3 masterpiece videos and dipped
The Cory and Gobi hanging out together is so cute, wonderful to see all the critters start feeling really at home in the tank!
Seeing passionate people improves their craft really makes me happy ❤
P.S love your editing style and dry humour
I love the extra sounds you made for the fish and how peaceful the overall video was! I love my dwarf corydoras, they seem to love hanging out in broad big leaves :)
That is such a beautiful aquarium and awesome video
The sound effects for the fish brought the whole video together. Brilliant.
I just... can't believe that this is "just your first channel" and "just a try at making videos".
Thank you for your kind words :p
This is my first attempt at all of the above, though I did have one proper tank before these that got me into the hobby (seen as the source of guppies in video #1).
It’d be especially helpful to have some troubleshooting as a starting point to refer to before making the decision to devote hundreds of dollars into the hobby (and time into the research!)
Truly hoping to see more of this gold from your channel, even if it is just more of your own builds! ❤
Give it a go and I'm here if you need help
the corydoras who likes to break off and do their own thing truly is the cutest and must be so fun to watch.

I've recently gotten a microscope and it's taught me something important; dirt isn't just a good place for good bacteria, it's already got it. It's a great way to make sure the tank has a diversity of microorganisms to keep the water pure.
I need a microscope!
Ive never been more relaxed watching a video. Very well cut and produced
I wish I was a fish in an aquarium it looks so fun and peaceful

The Runescape soundtrack in the background is golden.
You really have a knack for making these videos. They flow, make you laugh, tell a story, and manage to leave me feeling calmer and happier by the end. The tanks are beautiful and interesting too. Thank you!
So enjoyable to watch you build and develop this shallow live planted tank. Everything looks so healthy. Great job and video to document!
This is ART...as many have said. This was magical. It felt like a world that I never want to escape.
OSRS music+Fish tanks is probably the perfect combination I never thought could exist.
I requested it and he actually did it! Honestly, such refreshing content considering the aquarium community can be quite monotonous. Even the big channels don't have this style of editing, narration and quirkiness to them
Came here to say that haha
I’m not sure if you’ll see this, but your videos are literally addicting, thank you for being in my recommendations and allowing me to enjoy a small piece of what I like to call, the beautiful side of RUclips.
Thank you for making it here with your kind words
The editing was so good. The little sound effects made my day. Good work mate!
I think you’re one of the calmest and nicest people on the internet.
You have a beautiful aura my friend 🥰

in just 3 videos you have more quality content that the 90% of aquarium type channels
Don't give a shit _how_ long it takes, I await your next video! 🤗💕
EDIT: YOU are exactly what RUclips was made for.
Pls don't curse ma'am
@@seronymus _And,_ why TF not? 😂😂😂😂
Teaching little kids about how special & important the natural balance is.🤞🍀
You're fantastic & you deserve the best of what life brings to you. 💕💕
pls no curse
