“If you don’t turn around and look at your bike, you bought the wrong bike”
How right is that. Totally.
I do it every time
Exactly and I never used to, until recently 😃😍
I still do it no matter if I'm on my shovel or my fat Bob I always turn around and look.
I love my, sexy to me, 05 VTX
When I had my 883, I wasn't turning around anymore. Kept thinking I am too big for this bike. Got the street bob and I always look back
"John? John Maxwell?" How cool is that to be recognized in a parking lot. That was the best part of the video! Keep doing what you do, brother.
Not only do I still turn around, but after 2 years I still go in my garage and stare at her. Good video and thanks for taking us along.
...and then inside open my photo app, select “Harley” folder and go thru the thousands of HOG photos.
gemini232003 HAHA.
I do that too! LOL
gemini232003 I know exactly what you’re saying 👍
LOL. I do that too. Must have always got the right bike
The people who thumbs down videos like this must have miserable lives.
They probably go through each video looking for the thumbs down icon, not knowing what is about. They do have miserable lives.
They probably don't ride motorcycles that's why they're miserable.
@@Joseph-wh5of true that
Yeah, someone could make a video saving puppies and some dick will give it a thumbs down 😂
They ride Honda’s
I often go into the garage just before bed to get one last look for the day. It's a sickness, I know.
I never look back, I walk away from my bike backwards until I can’t see it , or fall ass over tea kettle.🤪
I have been turning around for 43 years. (1968 FLH)
McSbenondulds, over a million served 🍔
Over oksdfnjasdhfbak served
It’s weird seeing John ride in Orlando and not hear your voice lol like “woah....John and Blockhead are now in the same world....cool”
@@adamc2451 It's like when cartoons joined shows on nick back in the day haha
Man, your ride commentary is hilarious! I love your take on the circumstances and situations. Thanks for yet another great segment in the John Maxwell saga!
When I go to work in the morning, I walk through my garage and tell my bike how beautiful it is. True story.
I know a guy who loves his bike so much he walk past it, turns around and drops his pants, then butt slams his Hogs tailpipe.
That’s not even funny
Congrats on over 100k subscribers!!! You deserve it brother, great work and quality vids.... keep them coming and you'll be getting a framed play button in no time
Man I still stop and turn around to look at my Softail Deuce, been loving it since 2007 and it’s going thru it’s second chop as we speak. Thanks for taking us on the ride, awesome work!
Perfect sentiment in the opening. A year and a half later and I still turn around as I walk away. Love the 114 Heritage BTW, put a few hundred miles on one in San Diego and loved it.
We definitely lay out all of our stuff! It doesn’t matter if it’s a bike or car trip! We always even organize it by what bag it goes in. It makes it a crap ton easier for accessibility.
It’s so fun watching your ride around videos. Cause I remember all those roads and highways you’re on!!
Love your videos man! Can't wait to get back on my 04 softail, winter just seems to not want to quit up here in the great white north. Gotta love MN.
God bless brother!!
Excellent video John missed you at the bike show by two days definitely wanted to stop by the booth love all the shop videos that are awesome keep up the great work, definitely a dedicated viewer
Thanks for bringing us along for the ride. Have a Heritage too, love it.
Ur absolutely right.... I get off my bike n I always look back at it. There's tons of beautiful bikes out there...but there's only one I own😍
Great vid...cheers from Canada, riding season just starting here...John you got me through the winter and I learned a ton!
Hell I pull up pictures of my bike on my phone on the regular just to look at it.
Me too
Thanks for the ride along. Was so pissed our Daytona trip got scratched at the last minute. Was looking forward to meeting ya. Maybe next year. Thanks
I've been turning around and looking at my Dyna since 06.
You and me both brother
chuckkkklinnnn chuckkkklinnnn
mine bLOVE 1988 FLSTC wuzz STOLEN on September 9th
I STILL ride mine bLOVE 2007 fxdb
TRY STEAL dis MILE HIGHHHH city!!
Years ago I saw a friend of mine on this beautiful old red shovelhead that I just knew I had to have it. 5yrs. Later he sold it to me. I have done nothing to change the look of the bike but have increased the horse power and torque some and restored the chrome here and there. I always turn around and even catch myself sitting where I can see it at all times .
I do the same thing as you when filling up, eventhough I ride an FLHXS I still like to pull up on the left of the pump. And yes that's so true about old gas at smaller stations, totally agree with that one, cheers man, awesome trip.
Usually I prefer the shop videos (especially the, "how to's) to the ride versions, but I love Southern GA in the Spring. The ride from Macon to Valdosta is really beautiful that time of year.
Great video John, that’s how I know I made the right choice on my 17 street bob sometimes I just go out to the garage to look at it
That is spot on, “If you don’t turn around and look at your bike, you bought the wrong bike." I am a big fan from the Philippines. Your vlogs helped me make up my mind to buy the Heritage Classic. Thanks for the great videos.
After a long run how can one not turn around to admire his ride. Good video John,
I always look forward for your videos and hope to meet you some day... enjoy the ride and ride safe
Great video John! I was in the motorcycle business 32 years, I would watch people get off their motorcycle and walk in,,,,,if they didn't turn around and look at their bike,,,,I knew I had a chance to sell them a new one !!! Sorry I missed you in Daytona.

John Congratulations on getting 101K Subscribers you deserve that. Thanks for taking us along on your ride to Orlando and then Daytona. As for what you said about turning around and looking at your Bike, in my case that’s also cars and trucks.
2017 Heritage Softail. ZERO complaints. Still making it mine. Vance and Hines Big Radius 2-2, Screaming Eagle intake, some chrome stuff, curved fitted license plate, etc. I run with the rear seat off now. Still need bars. I like yours except I’ll do chrome. I use the Vance and Hines Fuelpak to keep it tuned. Love the content! Keep up the great vids John!
P.s. And as far as walking away and turning around to look at her.... And once inside or away from her, open your “Photos” app, select “Harley” and gaze at the thousands of HOG pics. America! Yeah!
I used the ride planner for my SD and Yellowstone Trip, but I did it all through the computer rather than the app. It seemed much easier that way. I added waypoints and stops and then uploaded to the bike with a thumb drive. Worked great!
Hey John just want to say thanks for letting me know about the Harley gear oil. I got that from the video when you was changing the oil on your haritage. I changed the oil in my primary and transmission to the new gear oil and used a measuring cup to see how much oil the tech put in from the 1000 mile service. The primary was 6 oz overfilled. The transmission was 4oz overfilled. I think I'll be doing this service from now on. It shifts a lot smoother now to. Thanks again for the tip.
I still look back at mine, have it as the background on the computer and go sit on it in the winter months(Chicago). Yeah, love my black 97 Road King that I bought new and will keep forever.
Excellent video brother, always nice to meet people that know you, he must of been one of your Subs, ride safe ride free 💯
I really like the sound bar setup. I definitely need to upgrade my speakers on my 2009 Street Glide.
Just found this and as you pulled up the map I thought "That's near where I grew up." Then I saw the road name. Wasn't expecting to see this start out in Columbus... awesome!
Getting ready to head to Daytona on my 2019 heritage from Fort Worth Texas with my hubby. BTW we also did the "bring it home" ride in Paris, but I was riding my trike then. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the heritage.
Great video. I was never into touring bikes until I rode one and I fell in love...09 flhx.
Spent a lot of time at Fort Benning, GA. Hoorah!
Great video and love the review. I still love looking at my Roadking Special.
Man, I am so glad I found your channel John!
Super smart on fixing bikes.
Very down to earth, regular kind of guy.
And great at making really enjoyable videos.
Your content always rocks.
Thanks brother.
Eric
central Florida.
(about 1/2 a mile from Orlando Harley south)
Been to both those dealerships Tiffton and Gainsville. I stop at everyone on my trips. Love your Tube channel.
Glad it was a safe trip man! Really been thinking about getting a bigger bike than my sportster since watching your videos! Hopefully I can meet you someday after I get the hell out of PA lol.
I have a 2007 Street Glide and I turn around and check it out still. You are dead on balls accurate on that John!!! and you can take that to the department of weight and measures bank!
You're right about looking at my Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic FLHCS 114 Softail while walking away from her/Beastette. I look at her pictures while in the shop since last September 2020. I love your videos
Agree with your rating of the 2018 114 Heritage. Have the same bike, and couldn’t be happier. But I am one of the few who had the speedo fogging up. No problem, HD covered it under warranty, and haven’t had a problem since. Keep the vids coming and ride safe!
Great video. Thumbs up on the Heritage review, and yeah I turn to look at my 18 Heritage sometimes more than once.
Red beard hikes does an awesome pack load vid . ultra light hiking transfers over to bike for so many reasons
Hey John, Love the videos. I was wondering if by chance when you have the opportunity show us how to perform a "fall away" procedure properly. I read the service manual but it its kinda written odd. Love the videos keep em up!
After 19 years of riding my 98 Roadking I still look back, not always but it still happens. Enjoyed your video. Didn't figure you for a sound bar guy.
I’ve always loved your channel, but you went up like 1000 points in my book when you went straight to S.C.I.E.N.C.E. Def their best album! 🤘🏻 my dude! Glad you had fun in FL!
Your comment "When you're walking away from your bike and you don't turn around to look at it, you bought the wrong bike", totally agree with that. I always bought my bikes that way. The bike has to perform good in the engine and riding department but always has to look good in my view. Just bought a 2019 Fat Boy. Looks definitely have the upper hand here. But with this bike it is all about cruising and enjoying the relaxed ride. No hard driving, no hard cornering. Been there, done that ( Ducati SF 1098, Yamaha MT-10).
Great video as usual.
Nice video as always! Glad you enjoy your bike mam. That denim black softail slim is exactly how I what mine to look!!!!! White wall tires, all backed out with 16'or higer apehangers. Good looking bobber!!!!
Love your videos man, Informative with a sense of humor . dont stop what your doing. Ride safe From Sydney Australia
I have stopped few times at Gator and we snowbird in Summerfield, good video sir.
Hey man, I feel the same about my Street Glide Special. Especially since I got it in Billiard Blue. I still drool over it and, I'm not going to lie, I love the attention that bike gets, even from sport bike guys. And I am in the same category as you as far as the apr deal for bike week on the touring models. It's honestly my dream bike and I feel especially every time I saddle up. Another great vid man.
I always turn around and look at my Bikes, I also always lay my stuff out before packing.Keep On Keepin On
I have had my 2016 SGS for 3 years now and yes I still look back
I have a 2019 Heritage Classic to and rode it to Daytona Octoberfeast from Virginia. Great bike for long trips
Great ride. I had an 05 Road King before my 14 Ultra Ltd and I do miss it. And it only had to 88, I can only imagine with a 107/114. Holy crap. Getting used to that extra weight front and rear was a big learning curve. Ride safe
Liked your road trip blog and your Heritage is a fine rid, interested in the fogging speedo mine does and it drives me crazy!
Every Harley speedometer I have owned has fogging issues. Drives me absolutely crazy too.
I just bought a 2020 Fat Bob in Performance red. The speedo fogs. Had a 16 Iron 883 and that speedo fogged all the time. I keep 'em in the garage. I dunno... On the comment you made about walking away from your bike and you don't turn around... I definitely look at it when I walk away. I keep it in the garage where a security camera looks right at it so I get to look whenever I want! Thanks! Keep up the good work!
I don't think I have ever meet a Harley Davidson owner that didn't look back at their ride. I agree with you John especially cause your Heritage is one of the best looking I have seen.
I've been turning around and looking back at my '15 Heritage since the day I bought it. Then I go in the garage and stare at it. Sometimes I walk by it in the garage and give it side eye...my wife thinks I'm obsessed, but it's just the regular kind of love
Regarding the Final Destination mention: that ish has happened on multiple occasions in southern Oregon. You learn real quick never drive or ride next to loaded log trucks
Great vid, and always awesome to meet a fan along the way. Harley dealers dont know ya but the fan who pulls up spots ya from a mile away. Thats awesome. Good stuff thanks
Great video John, I am still in love with my 18 Streetbob, and i turn and look at it all the time. I love the ability of the tour bikes, but i don't travel, just day rides. SOOO i love the weight of my 'bob and with the 107, pretty sporty if i may say...Be safe and looking forward to one day our paths will cross.
absolutely True~ i always look back at my bike
Like you, I turn around and look at my 2018 Heritage Softail Classic all the time. BTW, my speedometer fogs up when it's rainy and cool.
Hi-effin-five on your intro bro. Thank you for all of the free 2wheel input
I always turn around and look back at my lovely '19 Heritage---she's beautiful! Thanks for the great videos, dude!
I rode that way from Orlando to Asheville a few years ago. Would have loved a windshield LOL - it was still a great ride...
Although not able to ride my 2018 Fat Boy due to ill health, i go and see it in my garage all the time and it gives me a lot of pleasure just knowing it's all mine. Greetings from the UK have been subscribed for ages.
I'm starting to think about it now I like the contour the way that the bar is following your forks maybe I should have went with the both bends like you did, I didn't want to have a headache pulling those wires through!!
Great vid JM, have a blast at Daytona and keep the rubber side down bro😜👍🏽
Watching you work with you phone, while riding, while having to take your glove off.... MAD MAN! I got me some gloves that are smart phone compatible, GAME CHANGER. Love the video!!!
WOW your famous John, that guy at the dealer was STOKED to meet you. Keep it going buddy
John, let me say this has been my favorite video so far.
For those planning on making a southward roadtrip on I-75 please be aware of a few hot areas for radar traps.
Cordele Georgia , slow down for sure. The police in this area will be around the bottom of the overpasses and sitting on the on ramps waiting for you to pass by.
Tifton Georgia. Home of the " Cop on every overpass." Yes, the police in this area will team up with one parked on top of an overpass clocking while others will stage waiting to take chase. Dont speed in Tifton
Valdosta Ga, be careful entering into Georgia Northbound from Florida. The Lowndes County Sheriff's watch this are closely. It's not uncommon to see a couple sheriff's watching the Northbound traffic and they do a good job of catching speeders.
If your traveling east towards I-75 and approach a small town of Boston Ga, please slow down.
This town has a dip in the road which hides an officer which is surely waiting for you.
Trust me, this town has little to no industry and the officer brings in good revenue through speeding tickets.
Enjoy your rides and stay safe.
Dude, about the lack of customer service at the dealerships... our local HD dealership was the same way a few years ago. Many people had given it poor reviews because of their lack of customer service. I even wrote up a detailed explanation of not being greeted, literally hollering for anyone to assist me, and no one did. The owners called me and I politely told them how much their dealership sucked, and how I was ready to buy but decided on going an hour north to their competition. Again, not my review alone but many finally made the owners clean house. They were not at the dealership themselves that much. They started taking an active role there and within a few months had completely cleaned house and went with almost an entire new crew. And now? This is one of the best dealerships around! If you are ever up north/Midwest area stop in at the HD of Indy dealership and ask for Donna or David (the owners).
I WENT TO A LOCAL HD DEALERSHIP TO BUY A ROADGLIDE EVEN TOOK MY 10 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WITH, AND THE SERVICE WAS SO POOR, I WE WALK OUT. I WENT THE NEXT MORNING AND BROUGHT A 2019 INDIAN CHIEFTAIN LIMITED. AND I SAVE A FEW THOUSAND.
I agree bought my bike there
My 07 CVO Super Glide only fogged up in the southern states like Myrtle Beach and Daytona. Usually after an overnight outside rally parking. LOL
Wow that was a fun ride, sure beats the Neverending rain here in northern California.
Great videos. You're the "Go To" when working on my bike.
Great Video, Lots of good content thanks. Funny the Harley dealers didn't know who you were.
Honestly the friendliest Harley dealership I've ever been to is Electric City Harley-Davidson in Scranton PA. They are always super friendly and not incredibly worried about pushing the sale of a bike on you. I love going there.
Just bought a new 2018 HC last week and love it so far!
Never get gas when the tanker is unloading fuel. Glad you mentioned that you got in a bad spot on the highway next to the boat you know better. I thought I was the only one that looked at my bike walking away I have 2018 Ultra Limited Anniversary & a 2001 Electra Glide good video hope the dealers you stopped at watch this. Sometimes I know what or need and don’t want to be bothered but how would they know if they don’t ask.
I just bought a 2019 Street Glide. Customized the crap out of it. When I walk away from my bike, I turn and drool 🤤 Thank you so much for your videos. Ride safe
Always look back at my bike. ;) Also, yep lay out your gear before packing so that you make sure you got it all. Making a list before that ain't a bad idea either. Also John, you need to get a dry bag or two that you can use for items like that jacket. That way if it rains the jacket's fine in the dry bag. I keep two in my Roadglide just for that reason along with my tie downs for extra stuff.
I got my eye on one. This was my first trip that I realized I needed it. When I rode to Paris I don’t think I took my leather.
John, wish I'd known when you'd be coming by Gainesville H-D, I live right down the road. Next trip down schedule some stops and I'm sure you'll draw a crowd.
That's sweet you went through my hometown sylvester georgia love your videos
I love the heritage. 100lbs difference between the road King is awesome. Sure the bags could be bigger but just get a tour pack if you need more space
Exactly!
John I to have a softail and I keep her in a trailer don't have a garage. Her is a 2006 Heritage Softail and I love her . Looking forward to doing some road time this spring and summer 2021 has been a bad year for me can't wait for 2022 it will be better. John keep it between the lines and ride on!
Nice ride. Funny sometimes at night I will turn the lights on in the garage and look at the bike. weird I know. I need to stop at Orlando Harley one day. I got right by there on the way to Disney from Jax. also I noted a Seminole Harley not far from there.
Always look at all my bikes when I walk away. Whether it is my 19 FLHT my 18 FLHTK or my 01 1200XL.
They always look great
I’ve passed through all the coast states from Maine to Florida. I don’t think I’ve ever stopped for gas and didn’t have 93 but I primarily use Valero and bp which are top tier fuel. I’m hoping to ride to NH in June. That will be my first venture since getting the Street Glide.
Love your videos and your cool explanations 🌊
Being a Softail, you could always put full size bags on it for longer trips. I'm a bit late to see it, but CONGRATS on 100k!
Great video, as always. So, after spending some time with it, is the tour pak decent or no? I love the look of it but, man, the reviews are brutal.
I’ve only been able to sit through Final Destination 1 and it creeped me out real bad so hey, thanks for logging truck...😉 I’m thinking about Leather Pros leather bags to replace the stock ones on my 18 Heritage.
