    ....this video did wonders for my psyche. I can't count the number of times people have caught me talking to myself while riding. Now that I know you do it as well, I'm MUCH better now! Enjoy your trip!

    I just bought a 2020 Heritage Softail Classic from Paris TX dealership Billiard Red and Vivid Black had them put on Tour Pack and Heated Kahuna grips engine and bag guards. We’re excited about it. Your Videos help us with insight. You and Matt Laidlaw are my go to guys for what works and what doesn’t! Thanks for all you do for us!

    After your comment about "Luving the tourpak for the extra storage" .... I realized its a pattern MOST of us follow.....Sportsters in your teens/twenties, WideGlide/SuperGlide in your thirties , Heritage Softail/StreetGlide,/RoadGlide in your fourties to sixites, and the TriGlide in your 70's. I am in the TriGlide period and after I bought it , guess what I said, "Luving all this extra storage" see the pattern ??? Looking forward to more of your videos of Paris (TX) trip. It was great fun even if we didnt break the record ....

    Hey John, just an addon recommendation. I've had a 18 heritage since March and initially had a lot of wind buffeting behind the windshield. I'm not sure if you've experienced the same thing, but I found a guy selling fork wind deflectors specifically made for the 18 heritage. They completely solved the wind buffeting issue and made it a much smoother ride. They're sold by JES Custom Accents. I have no affiliation with them. Just very happy with their product. Thanks for the great videos man!

    • @JNich68
      @JNich68 6 лет назад

      I have been dealing with the same issue on my 2016. Good to hear the solution. I will have to take a look and see if they are the same fit for my 16

    • @rubiconguy6599
      @rubiconguy6599 4 года назад

      I can also attest to the fork fangs, they’ve helped a tremendous amount with wind buffeting and stability on the Highway.

    Might want to consider a blanket under that laptop. Did the same to a road king. The trunks do pass quite a bit of shock onto the contents.

    John I don't know how you do it. I use my RAM cell mount and have google maps and Spotify for long trips and even have Spotify to my helmet Bluetooth for all riding even if its just for an hour. Love hearing my playlists and the exhaust in the background. Great bike, video and keep the content coming bro. Ride safe from south Louisiana, about 70miles south of New Orleans.

    Sort of odd that the tour pack and the backrest use different locations for the quick release. I do love that the Heritage can be stripped down to a bare cruiser in a few minutes. Saddlebags are the only thing that needs tools to remove. Wish Harley would have put the same style bolts as the touring models saddlebags.

    Speaking of the Key. I dropped the gas cap on my 15 Street 750. Couldn't buy a replacement keyed the same. Had to buy a new Lock Set. Installed it myself. And fixed the Clutch Cable problem. About once a week I had to adjust the Clutch. Dealer bound the cable when they did the Fuel Pump Recall. Complained(To dealer) the slot in the cable was moving, They told me to use Blue Loctite on the lock nut. Or crank it down with pliers. I just got the Cobra Saddle Bag Supports for my Custom. Took 10 minutes to install. Now I need to get bags.

    John maxwell I enjoyed this one as much as the early videos I can see the excitement your experiencing as you add things to your own bike I feel like a kid at Christmas when I do something to mine even small stuff keep up the great work I didn’t notice if yours has an engine guard if not one of those with highway pegs makes the long rides more comfortable add the soft lowers and rain is not as big of a worry thanks for your work

    • @TheHarleyTech
      @TheHarleyTech  6 лет назад

      I hate the way engine guards look on the non touring bikes, but I’ll be honest, 800 miles in a single day last weekend...I woulda paid a lot of money for an engine guard at the 400 mile mark...

    I started with a Bell Bullitt helmet, but experienced a good deal of wind buffeting on my 2018 Heritage with the windshield on at highway speeds, but switched to Shoei RF SR and now have virtually no buffeting. I kept the Bell for around town, as I prefer the cool retro styling over the Shoei.

    Hi John I have the same bike which I am stoked about which has a set of Freedom Sharp Curve Radius Pipes with black tips. I had the engine remapped with a Screaming Eagle Pro Tuner then Dyno'd. After the Dyno it now has an output at Max Torque = 111.40 at Engine RPM = 2.77. All I can say is that they look and sound awesome. Love your Blogs.

    The bike is starting to get its identity, I realise it must be hard trying to get the bike as you want it, especially as you have family to support as well . I put V & H pipes on mine along with the FP3 & Screaming Eagle heavy breather, then I was satisfied somewhat, now I wouldn't mind a Stage 4, but as you know you can throw a ton of money on our passions, & there's always something new we want to do argh !!!!!👍👍😎

      There are good ones you just have to find them, you get that in every profession I trained to be an auto mechanic then went to motorcycles. yes we were called that back in the late 70's early 80's we were still called mechanics later the term Technician came along.
      Funny thing is I'm a trained mechanic now I do photography and video but I'm still a nice guy, I got long hair and a beard and sometimes I think people take me for a homeless person. I also worked in other jobs like bartender, auto auctions, warehouse, office worker, etc.
      I've met the snobs in those professions, and in some of the jobs if you don''t use a certain brand or model of product they look down at you I don't worry about that I work on providing good service and products for my clients.
      Of course I get customers and clients who think they are VIP and DEMAND to treated like royalty, I can tell a few stories about those.

    Good video John it feels good getting the extra part on the bike don't it. I just put the premium shocks on my road King ,but the best parts added were a new back and front tire same kind it came with ,got 16thousand out of the original set ,but with the new set the bike handles better than when it was new. It holds a line through the curves better than ever ,seems like I just lean into the curves not even bothering with apposing steering .Have a good trip and ride safe.

    All the reviews for that tour pak are 1 star on the Harley online store. The complaints are that it is cheaply made mostly , and the internal lock scratches helmets stored inside. I wanted to adapt one to my ‘16 Slim S , but Now I’m unsure of spending $700 on something that might suck. John I’m guessing you got an employee discount, but I’m curious do you think it’s worth the $$ for the regular retail customer?

    Dude! DO NOT PUT YOUR HELMET IN THAT THING TILL YOU DO THIS!!!!!!!!! I learned the hard way! Look at the hinge the rivets are cut backwards and they will chew and maul anything hard. LIKE YOUR HELMET!!!!! Go to Home Depot buy some rubber door stops they are circular with a hole in the middle deep enough to cover the rivet stems. Just superglue them on and you are good to go. I had to pitch a fit when it chewed up my helmet, HD replaced my helmet after I showed them a picture in their magazine of putting a helmet in there.
