Thank you for all of the positive comments and understanding how busy John truly is. On top of this crazy shop he never misses a soccer practice or game. He also had our 3 year old at work with him one day this week, helped with school pick ups while one of our vehicles was at the dealership, managed to give a few kids a bath one night, and even put up a new dinosaur light fixture. I promise you the awesome person you see in videos is who he is 24/7 in “real life”.
I’ve been watching for a long time and could tell he was a genuine dude from the first video. A man can be a lot of things, but the most important is a good Father! Wish nothing but good things for you all and will continue to enjoy the content whenever he’s able to put it out! 👍🏼
Ooops, think I accidentally deleted my message,. Great to hear from Mrs. Maxwell. Owning a business can be a giant time suck. That is awesome to heart that he still makes time for family. It is also nice to hear of your kind supportive words. Having a supportive spouse makes all the difference. Been watching John for quite some time and am delighted to see his (and your) success. We miss his vids on youtube.
You guys are really grinding out life and it is inspiring to watch. Thank you for letting me be a part of experiencing it for a week. It was a pleasure meeting you.
John, really good to see that the business is taking off. That office manager will be a great addition. I so remember those days of late nights and always behind. Keep up the great work and I know the video's get in the way but thanks.
Cheers from the first Maxwells Motorcycles hoodie in Canada. I knew it when u announced your shop. Dirty thumbs up from this small motorcycle shop in Manitoba. Excellent work John
Brother, you honestly and truly need a parts "person" and someone to take care of the office "stuff". Really great to see some videos again. (Thanks Dan)
Great job john. Alot of long hours that most people never see. It takes a lot to run your own place. You have to love what your doing to be successful and you do.
Gregg is a freakin' beast , man . Glad you found him. And great to see that you still have your magic touch ... Re: turn signal right rear. Don't be too hard on yourself. It takes time for shop processes to settle. I think you are doing fun-fuckin'-tastic!!! Really enjoyed this video. Thanks for making the effort.
I miss the frequency of your videos but I'm more happy to see your shop being so successful! Once a week, once a month, once a year.... However often you are able to post I will always watch!
It sucks not seeing your videos more often but to me it’s awesome seeing your dream come true and seeing it looking successful is a cool site . As a long time viewer of your channel it’s awesome seeing you happy and busy
Much respect. Being both the boss and an employee makes being a small business owner's day loooooong. Glad to see you can still end the day with a smile.
John, just wanted to take a second and say Thanks for being you, it's nice to know honesty and integrity are alive and well in your shop . Keep up the great work and roll on Brother !
And that is why I never went into a business of my own even though we thought about it many times. It tends to own you. Glad to see you are doing well and business is going strong. Best of everything man.
Great to see you doing so well!! I know your working your tail off, remember we had this convo a year ago June when you opened. Keep up the great work and we will see you again in June.
John you are a total beast sir! I think we can all agree that even if we don see your videos as often, we love the fact that your business is crazy busy and we'd all love to travel and get our bikes serviced by you
You really gave us a feel for “a day in the life”. Kudos to whoever is behind the camera. Several years ago my son started a landscaping business and I did the office work including payroll, bills, advertising, accounting, state and federal taxes, etc. it took about 20 hours per week. Happy I was when he decided he preferred working on mowers and works as a mechanic for a dealer.
Glad to see the success! Running your own biz isn't easy (I should know!) Looks like you could benefit from a good service writer and parts guy! Get a good backend shop management system and that will save you TONS of headaches too.
The work levels are like the tide, up and down. It's the beginning of riding season so everyone is waiting till the last minute and dropping their bikes off for service. Jon has been a mechanic for a while and should already have an idea of his trade's work cycle. It will take a couple seasons before he knows exactly what to expect from his shop. If it was me I would try to hire a part-time mechanic or possibly have a guy come in as a subcontractor until the rush is over. Full-time employees are a huge expense and hiring one should be carefully considered.
Yeah you are already at the point you need an office manager. It’s good to see your business doing well. It looks like you need someone who can come in and organize everything and take phone calls and get things done and free you up to do the things you need to be doing. Good to see your videos again.
Focus on getting that business up and going. RUclips can wait. You know most of us will always be here. I've seen your videos whenever you post them keep up the great work super glad that your business is staying super busy!! You're awesome!
I was wondering how the new shop was going. Glad to see you have plenty of bikes and looks like things are going as I figured. Owning your own shop isn’t as easy as people think. The owner has to wear many hats including being a good husband and father. Keep it real bro there’s lots of us wishing you success.
Dont feel guilty for not posting lately. It’s awesome to see you busy and having success. I would rather know you doing well with no videos, rather than the other way around. May many more years of good business come your way.
John you look so busy. I am glad your business is doing well! Hopefully you can hire some more people soon! Good for you! We are all rooting for your success!
The dog was the hidden star of the video. Everybody loves little wiener doggo's. Now all you need is a camera person capturing all the stuff you do all day, every day, and that could be content for your videos.
Be THANKFUL your business is prospering, be THANKFUL you have a happy healthy family to to home to and spend time with, and enjoy the journey brother - it’s all good!
Indeed working for someone vs being a small business owner are 2 totally different mindsets and focus. Glad the shop is busy John, but I know you are putting in the time and have a good support system. Keep it up and stay safe!
I feel ya, I own a heavy equipment and truck repair facility. Day starts at 4 a.m. and ends generally around 10 p.m. Between service calls, parts and paperwork it get hectic. Just feel thankful we are as busy as we are. Keep up the good work John, after 20 years on my own I still learn everyday. I now have 6 mechanics and could use 6 more. In process of building a new shop 200x120. I feel it’s still not going to be large enough.
Thanks man, I wasn’t there for rewards, I did keep joking with John though that Mr Beast buys his camera people houses and cars lol. It was a great week.
John Maxwell i truly only wish you the best with your business! Don't get overwhelmed with the videos you post. With the people that are subscribed I have one that is patient and I will be looking forward to every post you update and I'll also be watching. I'm a huge fan of your channel and you as well.... God bless you and your family my friend and may you become very blessed with your business and live a very comfortable life financially and with great health
Love your video’s. I’m retired Military Army a wheel and track vehicle mechanic. Our computer system automatically re-orders parts when we get down to what we want and need to keep on the shelf and you can add or subtract the parts whatever you need. It would make your job easier once you got the hang of it. Look I don’t want to overstep I’ve never run a business. And I also work for UPS and I think the military got the barcode system through UPS
Maxwell, you need to hire a Parts person and someone who can do the bike drop off/customer stuff. Good shop man, I need to bring my bike from Arkansas for a service.
I like a few others here were also a former small business owner. I can honestly say it made me a better employee because I now know how difficult it is to keep your customers happy, pay the bills on time, hire qualified staff, and not burn out.
You probs need a part-timer doing just inventory and parts. Save you tons of time to work on bikes. Good luck, glad you got business. Stay upright and between the pipes! -Rene '94 Sportster Hugger "Azul"
This was an awesome view into your everyday schedule at work you have put out!! Love seeing the progress and the growth of your shop!! Maybe here soon youll be in the market for a shop manager so you can sit back and relax a bit! Fingers crossed And sending all the blessings your way!
Nice to see a new vid from you 🙏. Living life in the fast lane, I hope you will get the time to relax and down a few brewskis and enjoy life now and then.
Running your own business is not easy. I had a gunsmith shop for several years and know the difficulties of being a one man shop. The number one problem is being able to find people that are able to actually do things without babysitting. It will come together. Office manager is important! That way you can do what YOU need to do!
This was awesome though! I’d love to see more of these. Just general our day in the shop type stuff. A lot like the old tv shows but without all the drama 🙂
Great to see another video from you! Congrats on your very successful(albeit exhausting) business! Time to hire someone who can do inventory and sign in all of the deliveries, help you move bikes and general office stuff! Congrats John!
Thanks for the video bro. Glad to see business is booming. You defiantly need a parts manager to help clean up the shop and give you more time to get stuff done. Thanks Dan " I think" for helping him get videos back out. Keep up the good work gentlemen and I look forward to more videos.
Glad it’s going well, Lucy, one of our wieners watched the video w me sitting in my lap. Better busy than not busy, I’m a business owner too. It’s tough but beats working for someone who doesn’t let you know what’s actually going on. Keep on Keepin on John!
Looks like you’re moving into a good spot, with Greg and a new office manager you’ll be really moving. Then maybe this winter you can develop system efficiency. Keep up the good work.
Dude, you need a parts guy and service writer. If I were in your area, and looking for work, I'd be there tomorrow. I was a Ford parts manager for about five years. It's great that your shop is busy. Congratulations on your success.
Never shy of wat u do... N progress.. So far u are working it already in progress. Really happy n best wishes for ur personal best. N thank for helping all the motorcycle rides. Keep it up.
New subscriber. Been watching for a few weeks. I picked up in the channel while searching for my first Harley which happens to be a heritage classic 114. Power watched a lot of videos, hope your business is doing well.

Money is awesome. It pays for lessons and equipment but doesn’t substitute for dad being there

This needs a "love" button. *quits career and offers to be parts slave for Maxwells* Thanks for the video work, Mr. Dan
Just happy to see your shop is busy.
"9 times out of 10 I feel like an hour has passed and it's actually 2." Owning your own business in a nutshell.
Yup. Also a sign you like what you're doing.
John, really good to see that the business is taking off. That office manager will be a great addition. I so remember those days of late nights and always behind. Keep up the great work and I know the video's get in the way but thanks.
You have gone from master mechanic to master UPS/USPS/FED-X expert!
Much respect
Oh boy!!!!! You definitely need a parts manager... Nice to see you coming back!!
Cheers from the first Maxwells Motorcycles hoodie in Canada. I knew it when u announced your shop. Dirty thumbs up from this small motorcycle shop in Manitoba. Excellent work John

Absolutely!!
Great to see you back in front of the camera.
Brother, you honestly and truly need a parts "person" and someone to take care of the office "stuff".

Really enjoyed this video. Thanks for making the effort.
Looking forward to seeing more of your videos.

Much respect. Being both the boss and an employee makes being a small business owner's day loooooong. Glad to see you can still end the day with a smile.
Glad you’re so busy man, and hope you stay that way. My Dad always used to say, “you have no idea what hard work is until you work for yourself.”
I feel your pain. I'm retired now. At least your customers come to you for the most part. Good luck. Mike from Maryland
Brother miss your videos, but knowing your out there livin the dream and making happen is just awesome. Best of luck and kick ass
John, just wanted to take a second and say Thanks for being you, it's nice to know honesty and integrity are alive and well in your shop . Keep up the great work and roll on Brother !

Awesome video, brother. A day in the life of John Maxwell , The Highly Trained Unprofessional!
Good to see you again
Being that busy is a good thing. You will be building one hell of a business along the way through your struggles. I’m happy for you. 👍
