All great tips for those not knowing or needing a reminder. I do have one input, the engine stop switch (kill switch) should only be used in emergencies or to input the pin code.
Thanks for the comment but that's wrong. You always use the kill switch when turning off the bike. Now I'm curious, how many people don't? 🤔 * Comment below * "Use" or "Don't" use the kill switch?
@@TravelingTall I've never used it and was also taught that at MMI. I'm also curious. Maybe you can do a video interview with one of the Techs there to see what their input is on the subject, 🤷🏽♂️.
I'm 79 years old and I ride a 2004 Heritage Softail Classic. I Live in Charles City County, VA. and just got back into motorcycles in May of this year after 54 years absence. I'll be moving up to a touring bike in the spring of 23.
Brother Tall, perhaps you’re already pursuing this; HD should/must hire you (independent contractor) as “The Voice of Harley D.” There could be different episodes covering a variety of topics. You have the passion, people skills, product knowledge, riding experience and your demeanor is refreshing. God’s strength be with you my Brother. Peace.
Thanks, good video. I’m a retired Illinois State Police Motor Officer now living in Texas. I own a 2018 FLHTK SHRINE ULTRA LIMITED. I have been watching your videos for years. I rode motorcycles to Canada, Miami and California. I even took my wife and to kids to Canada in a sidecar.
Tall, I live in Northern California and just bought a 2024 Tri Glide in June. I love it and have put nearly 1000 miles on it already. I really like your channel and you give great advice. Continue to do what you do!😊 Al
Thank you for the info. I bought a 2016 Ultra Limited a little over a year ago and as you mentioned I was really tired but excited when I bought it. I only knew the things I had learned on uTube prior to buying the bike. The salesman wasn’t much help and I soon found out that I knew more about it than he did. By the way, I bought a 2016 FLHTK. Thanks again for your videos. I’ve been following you for some time now and will continue to do so.
2015 streetglide S , from fort Erie, Ont Canada… the head wrench did go over all the points about starting without the fob, but if you don’t do it all the time, you forget, like did. Thank you for the refresher. Most appreciated.
im on two wheels riding a 2008 street glide the best glide! tuning in all the way from Los Angeles California you have great content and i enjoy your channel.
I've seen lots of Harley Davidson videos, this by far is the best. Every one who is buying a Harley should see this video before and after you buy your Harley. Thanks so much.
My first bike, the only thing the salesman told me was which lever was the clutch! lol I was totally green, and very lucky to survive that first few weeks.
Throwing in a comment to help your algorithm! 22 RG is my first bike ever. 3,500 miles of riding experience. Hey Tall, 2022 RGST, probably the one in the video. These comments had me curious so I opened the manual. Page 121 stopping the engine states: 1. Push the off/run switch to off. 2. Turn the ignition switch to off. Thanks for the video
Very good tips, bought my 1st Harley back in February and the dealer didn't go over any of the things you covered with exception of how to turn it on and how to lock the bars. I bought a 2020 Street Glide Special with 97miles on it, riding out of PA.

Great video! I dropped a fob while on a ride in Tombstone. Fortunately, a rider in the group knew how to start without a fob and also the default code to start it. I have my own code set (I went back and found the fob) now but had forgotten how to access it. After this video I will go out into the garage and check it out. I have the code in my wallet since 2020. Thanks for posting this.

Hi Tall, this is Gert from The Netherlands, riding a ‘21 Road King Special in Deadwood Green and a ‘03 Fat Boy anniversary. I love your channel and although I ride motorcycles for a long time it’s always nice to learn something from fellow riders. Keep up the good work my man 👍
I love it, you are right on, I've been a motorcycle mechanic for 30 years, you can kill the brand, honda, harley, bmw, but you cant kill the motor, and the stripes around it, your colors are a representative of you,
Had to laugh out loud. That happened to me. I stopped for gas and found the key fob had fallen out of my pocket. Had to use my code. Retraced my route and found it a couple miles back. Sure as anything, someone had run over it. Thank God for that code. Good video.

I would like to see that this is hands down the absolute excellent best educational and informative video explaining the functions of a motorcycle I've ever seen in my entire life and I'm 61 years old and have been a biker my entire life! I ride an '03 Roadking Anniversary FLHRCI because many of the Harley mechanics I talked with say the '03 models are Harley's best because they represent the company's 100 year milestone. Enjoyed your video and insight into the complicated electronics the newer bikes have. Good job. Nevada rider now from Alaska.
Awesome tip/tricks. Bought a 2023 Road Glide ST in May and dealership failed to mention most of those items. Appreciate the time and thoroughness of the post. Ride safe.
I ride a 16 Road Glide Ultra and a 04 CBR1000RR. Riding in the great state of NC. I know you used to always say Street Glide or no Glide but I see you having more Road Glides in your videos and I’m loving it. Both are great bikes and the next bike I get will be a Street Glide so I can have both Glides. Keep making those videos. BTW I have a bunch of Custom Dynamics lights on my Road Glide too and I absolutely love them.
That’s awesome. Not many harley owners have a sport bike to go along with it. I have a 17 ultra limited and a 08 zx600 myself. Mad respect for people on 1k though lol im terrified of them.
I have the wire by the side cover and assumed it was for a trickle charger. I didn’t know that it was equipped that way! I bought a used ‘19 Road Glide Special.
Great video Tall! Riding a '21 Road Glide Special and am from Ohio. Many great handy tips that are useful. Would love to see a video on the GTS, I feel like there are probably lots of cool uses that I'm just not aware of or don't know how to do.
Thanks for the tips, I bought a 2022 Harley-Davidson Heritage in May and I was told about starting without the key fob but wasn’t told how to use it or reset the code however I found how to in the manual and found only two RUclips videos showing how it’s done. I keep my code and how to activate it on my iPhone that is always with me. I didn’t know about the battery tender plug until I bought a battery tender to keep the battery charged in the hot Las Vegas summer. Love your videos and rides! P.S. I just bought the Sena 50s do you have a video on how to connect to a GoPro to record while riding?
What’s up Tall. I’m not a Harley rider. I own a Goldwing. Still enjoy watching your videos. I’m from Southern California. Thanks for the awesome content.
Goldwing great bike, I owned 3 of them and was looking to buy a forth one but they didn’t make one in 2011, so I been riding Harley-Davidsons every since. But I still love the Wings
Oh, I wish I found this video a month ago. I had a 4-See delivery myself on my first Harley about a month ago. Imagine my surprise when the controls did not behave the way I expected them to. And the computer seemed to have a mind of its own. After watching this video and reading the manual cover-to-cover, I picked up several important bits of knowledge. I love my Street Glide Special, bought new off the showroom floor. Thank you for developing this topic. Too often, experienced riders forget that some of us are soooo new that we don't really understand our own machine. Cruising around the Napa Valley in California.
Can't thank you enough for this video! Fantastic information. I just bought my first Harley; a 2015 Street Guide Special. I don't yet have an owners manual (ordered rom the dealer) and the place I bought the bike from knows NOTHING about Harleys, so this is lifesaving info for me. Thank you!!

I only use it on my FXR with the 124 because of the heavy duty clutch won’t let me hit neutral. I’m going to adjust it .

Love your Videos. I ride a 2019 SGS and live about 20 minutes from Zippers in Sykesville, MD.
Excellent! You have teaching skills.Thorough and easy to understand.i am now smarter about HD.

2023 Street Glide. Your channel is amazing. Thanks for the work and info you pass along. Gliding from Virginia! 👊🏼
2020 Street Glide presently under cover😢 live in Pittsburgh Pa. Keep videos coming
2012 street glide from Wisconsin here great video with exceptional content and I learned new things about my ride thank you for the content
Can't thank you enough for this video! Fantastic information. I just bought my first Harley; a 2015 Street Guide Special. I don't yet have an owners manual (ordered rom the dealer) and the place I bought the bike from knows NOTHING about Harleys, so this is lifesaving info for me.
Thank you!!
