I haven’t heard them since the mid naughts at a local show in Caledon East (outside of Toronto) 😂 Love them, too. It was always a guaranteed blast. Just saw a Teens React to Ska video and had to look up the Flatliners. Cool how the sound has evolved, and my crush is reignited 😅🥹
I asked him about that after one of their shows. "Just one question, why are you cymbals so high?" '... cause... I'm so high...' He followed up with an actual reason. Which, if I remember correctly was something about how he finds it actually makes him stay like "calmer" while he drums. Doesn't rush and stuff. I could be totally wrong, but that's what I remember.
It's a recording thing, it helps stop mic bleed when the cymbals are farther away. Makes things easier to mix cuz you can independently change the snare/kick level w/o changing the cymbal levels.
I played with these guys some time back and I went up to Paul after the show and was like "I know you probably get this a lot...." He told me it keeps him from breaking his cymbals-- When you have to extend that far to reach them, you physically can't crush them as hard, but you can still play loud and aggressive without unnecessary strength. Very cool dude.
This album in its entirety is so damn good. I stumbled across these guys not too long ago and was just amazed that I hadn't heard of them sooner. I was hooked instantly. This latest album is just incredible. Im not sure of their influences but this is some of the best music out there right now. Punk rock and roll thats matured into hard rhythm and meaningful lyrics. Awesome!
Im not saying I dont totally agree, but I still miss their older albums like the great awake, or cavalcade. Inviting light is still a great album though.
Such a fantastic band. Every record has been consistently good, they bring so much energy and power to every show, and they are genuinely great dudes every time I meet them. Glad to have some good live sessions of them.
If you ever feel that you are bad, you have no idea for yourself, someone does not believe in you, you are too old, your life is running away. I am telling you - you are KINGS. I saw you for the first time on PRH22 and oh god, my tear came down
I just love that no matter how much they change as a band, after all these years Paul still looks like he's about to fall asleep at any second regardless of what's happening 😴 😂
I couldn't agree with this more. Destroy to Create is the closest thing to the first two Suicide Machines albums I can find. It's brilliant, and then they instantly turn to shit. What gives? @@dancalvano8702
@@dancalvano8702 Ever thought that The Flatliners are just making the music they want to? I think Cavalcade is their best album but I'm not the one complaining that they're trying new sounds. Y'all acting like they sold out.
This side of their stuff sounds like how Fallout Boy should've approached arena rock. Especially Human Party Trick. Really should listen to more from them besides Eulogy.
I've grown up with The Flatliners. They taught me how to live my life. They taught me what's most important. I can go to the gym and work out or I can be at home crying. And their music always has the message I'm looking for. We grow together.
At first I was a little bit dissapointed with the sound of Iniviting Light, but now I have to admit it has grown on me, not my favorite, but it is good on its own way. I wonder what would happen if they mix this sound with Cavalcade + Dead Language, I wonder.
+luis alarcon i mean they are not bad but I feel their new alt rock sound is very generic. When they played that old beautiful punk rock they were the only ones doing their own sound and thats what made me fall in love with them
I understand they are supporting the new album but this is miles behind anything off their past 3 albums, hopefully they have gotten this alt-punk-rock out of their system and they can go back to being punk.
cole delahooke yea idk ig we'll have to wait and see. To be honest tho i don't think we're guna get anymore punk/ska flatliners stuff anytime soon. These guys have been changing their sound for the last several years its pretty clear they want to move on from punk and write more complex stuff. Theres still punk elements in their music but it takes a back seat to their new sound
Mehhh. I saw them live back when they were playing destroy to create and the great awake.....not sure what happened after those two mind bendingly amazing albums......I think what they were selling became all sold out......
Man, that brown Jazzmaster is probably the prettiest guitar I've ever seen.
Absolutely gorgeous.
Oh boy, how has it taken me this long to discover The Flatliners... I love this.
Flatliners are great but you should check out the singer's shirt, Samiam.. another awesome band that never got notoriety.
Because they're frigging canucks!

Been listening to these dudes since DTC.. Cavalcade is in my top greatest albums of all time. Seeing this session made me want to get a Jazzmaster..
Mammals - 0:54
Hang My Head - 4:43
Nicotine Lips - 11:00
Indoors - 13:43
Human Party Trick - 22:42
Unconditional Love - 26:16
The Flatliners have a new album out. Time to have them back.
Ive been in love with this band since DTC, in these trying times at least i got to grow up with you all. ❤
no ones going to say anything about how the drummers crash cymbals are in a different zip code?
Gino Cordone to be fair most people watching this are used to them being that high when they see the flatliners by now lol
I asked him about that after one of their shows.
"Just one question, why are you cymbals so high?"
'... cause... I'm so high...'

Lmao. I enjoyed watching him play live but was cracking up at them cymbals.

I'll say this. The Flatliners are my all time favorite band.
But anything after their first two albums is derivative un-harmonious noise.

As much as I think Cavalcade is their best album. I wish they played the whole new album here. It makes it sound absolutely amazing!
I listen to these guys all the time when I'm working on cold cases.
Me too.. cold cases of pabst blue ribbon
I could watch this a million times and still need to see it one more time
If you ever feel that you are bad, you have no idea for yourself, someone does not believe in you, you are too old, your life is running away. I am telling you - you are KINGS. I saw you for the first time on PRH22 and oh god, my tear came down
About time, I haven't found a live studio recording of them, I'm glad someone made it happen.
It would be nice to see "Dead Language" here
Fuck yes. Fuck YES. You can miss the old flats all you want - this is the here and now. I love it all.
I just love that no matter how much they change as a band, after all these years Paul still looks like he's about to fall asleep at any second regardless of what's happening 😴 😂
Literally the tightest punk rock band I've ever heard, so sick. They sound exactly like the album!
Man, that put on the best live show. I've seen them ten times and each time it blows me away how good they sound.
I couldn't agree with this more. Destroy to Create is the closest thing to the first two Suicide Machines albums I can find. It's brilliant, and then they instantly turn to shit. What gives? @@dancalvano8702
@@westikle The Flatliners aren't teenagers anymore. People's musical tastes change.

Dan Calvano are you mad because grown adult people don’t wanna play children’s music anymore?
This side of their stuff sounds like how Fallout Boy should've approached arena rock. Especially Human Party Trick. Really should listen to more from them besides Eulogy.
Inviting Light is massively underrated
Oh yea, if you dive deep into this record and let it create memories it holds a special place in your heart - one love

do a menzingers session.
That would be the best. Theese two bands basically defined my whole summer this year. Last year it was the smith street band :D
God, these guys are so good! Been listening to them since their FatWreck days. Represent’n Samiam makes me love them even more!
That Samiam t-shirt tho.
90s Punk Rock Covers right? I've always liked this band casually but seeing that shirt in the thumbnail actually made me click
samiam is a good band.
man how good is this, and love the samiam rep, one of my fav bands!
I fucking love the song indoors!!!
Awesome as always. I wonder if they missed that Monumental reference or just breezed past it haha
Can't wait to see this band in August!
I wasnt that stoked on this album when i first heard it but this session has made me wanna go back and give it another go.
This is definitely one of the top ten videos on YT. Bravo guys! Fuckin smashing
I know people will judge me for saying this but uh, wow,,, such talent,, we stan our talented king, Chris Cresswell

Paul is so stoned like always at 8:05! Hahahaha
I love their new sound. Its a shame they dont have the recognition in the rock scene they used to have
Great !!my favorite sound, reminds me for Sparta! cheers!
I love to smoke while listen to Flatliners 🥰
9:36 underrated pun
Perfect band
Cymbals aren't high enough
i approve, this is good music
Lindeza!
They were awesome at the Cobra Lounge.
Indoors such a banger ❤
SO DAMN RAD! Waitng for u guys finally visit Belarus.. Some day
Sessions like these you should also be playing the songs that got the audience interested in the band.
rocking a samiam t shirt, fuck yeah! that's a good band.
Best damn band on the planet
Brandon Hancock after the Dwarves
Great band
Pretty pissed I don't see ANYTHING from The Great Awake.
much respect for the Samiam shirt
This is sooooo good !!!
Sounds like a more complex smoking popes. Really nice
That was awesome!
Host's speaking is so monotone. I'm booooored when the Flats aren't playing. I'm sure she's a cool person though.
cabuloso!
That fucking samiam shirt gets me every single time.
i miss the old flatliners sound so much...
STNRD same bro
+luis alarcon i mean they are not bad but I feel their new alt rock sound is very generic. When they played that old beautiful punk rock they were the only ones doing their own sound and thats what made me fall in love with them
Good thing that they moved on from that style, the idea is always evolve your sound through the years, not do the same shit on and on and on.
Yeah, I'm with you man.
Do you mean Destroy to Create sound or like Cavalcade?
Fuck yeah!!!
Shout out to Samiam!
These boyz are dope
Whats the model of those AA hi hats?
Fucking bad. Looking forward to see y'all live again sometime.
FINALLY
The opening track reminds me of airbag by Radiohead
Not only my favourite banda, they would be also my best friends if i knew them jajajaja
⚡️⚡️⚡️
Scott's guitar is too low in the mix. Otherwise, pretty awesome.
Great session, wish they had of played chameleon skin as well.
I have like never NOT seen Chris chewing gum...
SO RAD
so young so alive
sounds like your about to eat their souls.
Too bad the music drowns out the lyrics.
All four of them look like they're from canada
Samiam fuck yeaaah
Böyle ölmeyiz Chris. Roket at tank at kafamıza ya..
Her eyes are for Chris! ha!
Lol when they keep trying to play Human Party Trick and she keeps stopping them.
Wow that first song was all nose
yeah dunno whats he was doing there. I think the new style is pushing chris into a vocal style that his voice wasnt made for
Still safe to say whoever produced the last album has some 'splainin' to do...
Fred's got slacks!
Gta represent
I understand they are supporting the new album but this is miles behind anything off their past 3 albums, hopefully they have gotten this alt-punk-rock out of their system and they can go back to being punk.

Make the flatliners ska again!!
These guys killed this session. The only bad part is this chick babbling every other song
please get Culture abuse to do session, audiotree
jimmy fallon rips on drums
I've tried to like this band. Doesn't catch me. Great musicians though.
My like is the 666th like for this video \m/
The music is great but the sound wualIty of their album is crap, their guitar tone is so tinny sounding and compressed it’s horrible.
Worst. Host. Ever... Great band though
I think she's fun
