Turnover is a former emo/punk band whose newest release “Peripheral Vision” is a standout release echoing a transformation in the scene itself. Like cohorts in Sorority Noise, Citizen and Superheaven, they’ve managed to transcend punk and emo stereotypes to create a unique style while building a following of fans who loved them for their original sound. The record itself has a constantly humming echo that pulses throughout. It’s steeped in 80’s reverb and textured with layers of cosmic, contemplative noise. Lead vocalist, Austin Getz’s voice is steady and optimistic but his often somber lyrics reflect mental exhaustion. Sorrowful guitars banter to one another with quick, spacey riffs while the rhythm section provides a backdrop for the song to groove in a steady clip.
Listeners who are familiar with old material are sure to be transfixed by the change; hearing remnants of old songs buried within their stark evolution. Turnover is constantly touring and have opened for bands like Major League, Have Mercy, I Am the Avalanche and New Found Glory. A diversity of tone and influence allows for them to fit within tours made of off-kilter lineups and attract fans from across the genre spectrum.
Check out the performance by Turnover on Audiotree Live.

100% truth
Their last 2 albums beg to differ
Facts bro
listened to this a shit ton when my girlfriend and i split up around the time it came out. it was rough. married with two kids now. things get better.
That is so wholesome man, I’m glad you’re doing well dude!
Different chick? ...or things got better with her?
@@aethrya different girl. i wasn't even looking either!
You got married with two kids???? Damn how would the kids want that
I've been listening to these for 2 years now. Their songs hit different now after I lost my girlfriend in a motorcycle accident just 2 months ago. I don't wanna spread bad vibes and I'm happy for you man, just wishing she's still around so we could listen to these songs together. Such beautiful music about being in love.
I'm 63 years old and I just discovered these guys thanks to my son. I love this
9 years later - still mindblowingly beautiful
So true!
Agreed!
Such a shame their new stuff doesn't come close to this
0:40 New Scream
7:51 Cutting my fingers off
14:29 Hello Euphoria
22:06 Humming
"just another dream i had that's better than my life"
man, that line still hits like a truck
love this song. i hate that lyric though. Had my emo time already. I'm on the good side now and hate saying it lol.
I listen to this album everyday no joke sometimes three times a day
Its okay because we all do.
I would hate you if I could has been on loop for 3 days and the whole album on loop😭😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ SUCH A GOLDEN ALBUM
Same
Such a good band.
swear you find the most unrelated channels in the strangest places
U already knoo!
Lol wow so random. I need to watch at least one of y'all's videos a day. Great taste in music? Even more Hespect!
Noooo waaaaay! Love your channel, never would have thought you’d have liked turnover!! 😮
Changed my life.
The part on Hello Euphoria where the backing vocals harmonizes with the “and it pulls me in…” it’s just perfect. It just speaks to my soul for some reason.
my fav part of the album
the sound in these sessions is just unbelievable... so amazing
GHXST not better than KEXP tho
Props to audio engineer 🤘
They’re one of the few bands that changed their sound and pulled it off with flying colors. Sucks that the rona put their tour with jimmy eat world on hold
That sucks the have a great sound
That pretty much describes every run for cover band that started as pop punk/melodic hardcore bands.
The drums sound so damn good
i remember when this album came out. it seemed like everything was lining up in life and then chaos engulfed my entire well being. this album still gives me happy thoughts and memories. now I get to sing to my daughter all the songs that got me through some hardships
humming is probably my favorite to sing to her :)
I can strongly relate man, I was 18 when I discovered this album and my life was like a dream everyday, I was just going with the flow, and i flowed beautifully,it’s different now, for the better
Going on 23 and it’s definitely been an experience
i feel that man, was 18 when i found this album now everything is fucked LMAO
I love the interviewer, he's so passionate!
turnover + peripheral vision = heaven
I like how quickly the interviewers facial expressions change
Hahaha very chill dude
I was just laughing about that😂😂
❤️
Great band but I also have to compliment the interviewer. Ive seen him in a bunch of these and he's really good at making the band comfortable and has a genuine quirkiness to him that endearing. Fun stuff
scampoli25 I understand what you mean... He also has a really great mustache and smile. Who does this guy think he is?!
Radiohead.13 he probably doesn't think of himself as anything. which is awesome
It's funny you say that. Usually the comments are hating on him.
He's always been great, I really enjoy his style of hosting and interviewing. You can tell he's a fan but he's never overbearing about it like a lot of other hosts tend to be.
He's my favorite favorite interviewer on here for sure!
I live in Hollywood and there's a theatre literally 4 blocks from my apartment. Im always looking to see any good artists, but didnt recognize anyone for the foreseeable future. I randomly clicked on these guys and have been loving them so far. Just bought 2 tickets for the December 3rd show. Looking forward to it!
You will not be disappointed I seen them live and they sound literally like the recording they kill it!
I have completely fallen in love with this band in the past 24 hours omg. Can't get enough.
literally haha
6 years and this session never gets old
Both Audiotree and KEXP are known for top-rate studios/engineers that give every band the best sound possible; it really really makes all the difference. Kudos! The hosts' banter with the band gives the engineers time to readjust equipment for different sounds. This perfection doesn't just happen by accident. AND we get glimpses of the band's personalities.
I love the backing vocals on euphoria
totally agree, that part sticks with me more than a lot of things
fuck yes the chorus rips
and how about in the end of new scream??? sooo good
mustache was way ahead of its time, super excited for the new album in a few weeks
Total accidentally drifted upon Dizzy On The Comedown on RUclips auto-play and had to get up from what I was doing to see who it was. Been really digging their music since then, about 3 months ago.
Here because I ran out of tickets for their show here in the Philippines. Now, I'm crying.
Paolo Lorenzo yep i honestly didnt expect na mauubos agad nang ganun kabilis
Make natin sa mymusictaste
Matapos lang talaga tong Covid, baka bumalik na sila dito. Manonood na talaga ako haha
I live in Brazil, after discovery of Turnover, I can not stop listening. Your songs it's amazing!!
Are they going to come back for a 2nd session? Please have them back!
The best album for me! I was a bit late to start listening to them-began just this year when ‘Cutting My Fingers Off’ was suggested to play while I was at a beach in Sanur, Bali, listening to Spotify. It has been one of the greatest discoveries of my life, and I’ve been listening to them every day since then.
Peripheral Vision is a masterpiece album. Literally my #1 of all time throughout any genre.
The drummer was hammering it down ! Can’t wait to see you guys in Harrisburg. Much love 🫶🏼
@matthewshipp7797 you and me both brother! Super stoked. These guys were on my bucket list for the longest time
@matthewshipp7797 how was the Harrisburg show? I, unfortunately, missed it and I’m so pissed.
I want to become my little secret forever but I also want them to have just a slight bit more recognition so that I can see these guys live because the sound they have and the way they make you feel in their songs is just indescribable. I can’t put into words how much this band means to me in just a short space of time. 💕
Also adore the fact that the style and sound is kept almost the same
I really like your music guys. Greetings from Mexico !!!
Love the interviewer . He is really awkward but really cool and passionate at the same time
Finally got to watch them in Costa Rica a couple of days ago, these songs can't stop playing in my head. It was such a great performance and concert :')
That all sounds amazing . Did they play a lot of songs from this album??
@@jasontran7872 the setlist for all latin america dates was pretty much all off peripheral vision!! i saw them in mexico city
This is easily one of the best albums in the last 15 years. This saved man, its amazing
I love this band so much! Walking alone at night listening to them is a fantastic experience
2020 and its still you Turnover♥️☹️😍
yesssss
♥️♥️♥️♥️
Yes😎
2021 and its still Turnover 🇵🇭❤️🍻😘❤️

Andrew D. Royappa i have that guitar it's the Squier J mascis jazzmaster, amazing guitar especially for the pricd
influentialdetour Yeah I just picked one up because of His and Tame Impala’s use of it and I love it
Such good chorus tones. I need to get myself a Roland Jazz Chorus
I really like this style of music on Peripheral Vision. Does anyone know any other albums or artists that are similar in style?
JAKEBrakeModel94 honestly, probably Real Estate, although they are much more chill. Still great. Title Fight's "Hyperview" album is pretty good too. Also check out the album "Tired of Tomorrow" from Nothing.
I appreciate it man! Specific references help so much
JAKEBrakeModel94 Wild Nothing
Wild Nothing, "Tired of Tomorrow" by Nothing, "Hyperview" by Title Fight
Edit: As soon as I hit "save" I realized all 3 of these had already been recommended... My b
Football Etc, Kittyhawk, Petal, Rainer Maria, Tigers Jaw are similar to Turnover.
Watching some of these audiotree episodes in 2020... Turnover after Peripheral visions, foxing after the albatross, and balance and composure after separation... Audiotree recorded these bands after perfect albums
Happy birthday peripheral vision!! Cheers to six years! 🍻
such a great band man i saw them live n they were amazinngngnn
RUclips algorithm bring me here. Such a great band. Greetings from Malaysia
Amazing I found this band thru the pop punk
Scene but they evolved to the indie scene
Turnover has some of the prettiest guitar tones out there.
They are just incredible. Every single song they kick into is unreal. Interview guy was REALLY leaning into the beach activities question, lol!
Just saw these guys last night in the Philippines!
Watched this so many times, one of the best. Can’t wait to see them next week!
I'm a Virginia Beach migrant and I'm just now hearing about these guys, how is that possible? Great band, time to get out of my hole.
Very warm sound, i can't remove this guys from my playlist.
@4:20 and on was pure bliss, backing vocals sounded phenomenal.
New Scream must be one of the best songs I've heard in a long time. Can't wait to hear some new material from this band.
Mikael Schwartz my favourite is Diazapem
when you see this interviewer, you know the episode is gonna be a hit
They’re having a concert in my area today and this made want to go x10 more
Love this band, but I’ve gotta say whoever melodynes this guys vocals is a wizard because he is so off key, regardless these guys are incredible
I've heard other live recordings that sounded great. Maybe he was just having a difficult day vocally.
This is amazing! thank you Audio Tree for showing me some amazing bands!
They should have stuck with this sound. Love this album.
What a fucking time to be alive and well, with bands such as Turnover, Citizen, Cloud Nothings, Pup and Basement. Wtf is going on?? I think they set the scene for big things to come. Just like back in the 90's
much after feeling that i wasn’t feeling their new sound, it’s so nice to come back to this 😜
can't get enough of them. they already announced their new album. :--))
I emotionally live for this video
peripheral vision is my favourite album ever.
I love how they discussed watching dolphins and other down-to-earth stuff.
The harmony at 17:27 is beautiful. I love this band so much.
That's literally the octave
Cheesy Cola this made me laugh like hell
Vocalist looks like Nappa
look up some photos of him from the past, he's completely changed his look
@@liamlocklear4052 went from nappa to superman
@@lifeisaparty now he looks like Jesus
@@stapfen he has many looks 😂
@@stapfen I saw them last week and his hair is short again.
I could've gone the rest of my life not knowing what the lead singer looked like.
100% was not expecting it either
Cal Chuchesta
Home boys got so much hair now it's a complete 180
Now he looks like straight up the second coming of Christ
Dude got way more handsome. Husky idol.
I always come back here once in a while and i just noticed that Gavin Free plays bass for Turnover
Just discovered the album this year because I was a victim of bad opinions about the band. Glad I gave it a chance.
I can't believe these guys are finally coming to Brazil. December should come faster!
Who is still rocking this on the reg?
ROLL CALL!!!!!!
my go to for a dota draft lol
I saw these guys in 2017, after the release of "good nature" and I was quite worried that being that his singing is perfect, it would ruin the gig, but wow he improved so much and I would love to now how much its improved after another 2 years in September this year.
Can’t wait to see them live again!
‘I’m not a fisherman’
laugh at that hahahaha
leave the fish in the ocean.
I saw them live and tried not to cry, i just smiled
I just found them and I get such classic 'emo' vibes in all the best ways. I'm diggin it
These guys sounded just as good live in Boston last week 🤙
I take it back, Humming was excellent
Probably gonna see these guys next week. Really stoked!
dominoesandtin I'm in Milwaukee and I'm seeing them tonight.
AHHHH TURNOVER. Such a great band.
TO MAKE YOU GO TO MAKE YOU GO I NEVER WANTED TO MAKE YOU GOOOO
So clean, so good! 🌻
Okay love turnover but the host is such a cool fcking person … I loved how well they engaged everyone in the band and kept the conversation rolling in between songs - good job🥺🫶
I'm a friend of a friend of a friend of the guitarist! They're absolutly great.
god, that stache....
WHO MIXING THIS AUDIO??? YOU SO DAMN GWOOOODDD.
What a beautiful performance. Love this band so much.
Love these guys
Was there when they released this new sound it was awesome best bad ever
I think the vocals are actually really good, considering how smooth theyre meant to sound on the record.
Knuckle Puck or Like Pacific please!
German Brito like Pacific doesn't get as much exposure as they deserve. They're really good.
Like Pacific on the waiting room. Exists. Not as good as Audio tree but still definitely worth a listen
KP 🔥🔥🔥
Amazing band. The feeling is JUST right
this is a really nice band, and the interviewer is such a cool dude, greetings from Argentina
Best album ever released. I will die on that grave.
Almost forgot to watch this today
I saw you when you guys were on tour with pianos become the teeth and the world it a beautiful place and I'm no longer afraid to die and take one car!! sooo good
