  • I don't take any responsibility what you do to your vehicle or yourself.
    Precautions:
-Make sure your hubs are same thickness all around. And there is enough room for different bolt pattern.
    -Study well about tools needed.
    -Here M14x1. 5 threads
-First 7mm drill bit for prehole (cobolt)
-12.5mm final hole for tapping, here quality cobolt drill is needed. Last time I had cheap drill and it got burned in 2 holes.
-drill bit centering I do with a 60 degree cone drill bit. Then just lock the magnet and you are good to drill all same size holes by just rotating the flange.
-I have laser cutted custom round drill plate where there is 7mm holes for preholes
    3x 100 mm , 3x112 holes
    2x 100 14mm and 2x112 14mm holes for fastening. Center hole 57.1. Plate is 12mm thick.
Center magnetic drill to your pdc drilling plate holes. Note that magnetic drill is dangerous machine if you don't know how to use it and it comes loose while drilling etc. I recommend buying one where you can adjust the drill speed, it saves your drill bits in the long run. Mine has constant rpm.
I recommend using quality kobolt drill bits. Those hub flanges are hard steel to cut and tap.
Best to buy 3 tap set, I am using only 2 tap set and as you can see I am struggling to get the first tap through. It took 10 min to make the 1 thread, just the tapping part. Good tapping lubricant helps a lot.
One step is also to drill bigger holes to your brake discs, it makes the tapping little easier.
    Why do this?
There is much more inventory in 5x112 wheels with better offsets to use. I will install 6.5x17et50 steel wheels to my Audi A2 to 175/65r17 e primacy tires. That will lower consumption around 5-7% which is a lot.
Results of consumption tests will come later.

    Is this safe?

If done correctly, read the description.
You need laser cutted or machined plate that matches you hub center diameter and bolt pattern. If new bolt pattern is smaller you are always on safer side. So from 5x112 to 5x100 is safer. It you go bigger you need to evaluate your cars weight and how fast you are going to drive and corner with it and make some fem calculations.
If bolt holes are not perfectly aligned it will start to bend the bolts, which is not good.
If new wheel centers to hub, then it's relatively safe. Just tension the bolts little by little and you migth need to use little higher tension for the bolts. When bolts are not perfectly centered they get looser easier.
I drove 140kmh short distances just with bolts without centering rings.
But I take no responsibility what you do
Best results and easier task to do this if bearing is loose before installation to car.
