Suzie, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! I'm a first time Mom, and I started doing my nails at home to make myself feel more put together. I watch your videos constantly, and I always learn something new each time. I love your passion for teaching and your kindness. Thanks again!
U can say that again ma'am,same testimony here but am to open my nail business as well thanks to her formations....they're amazing...so understanding 😊
That finish shaping is everything! I do think it takes time. I am 2.5 years in and do my nails every two weeks. I am getting that “great” shape, more and more often these days. My last set I put a bright polish on preparing for a glitter press and whoa…it looked so good just as it was! I ended up with ten nails of deep pink nails only!
That’s encouraging to read! I have to say the same-I do my own gel & dip nails, and the more manicures you do on your own hands, the better you get! My first attempts years ago were messes.😂
Hi Suzie!! Between your videos and some severe ADHD, i’ve been able to master acrylics AND gel extensions, and they last forever, i haven’t been to a nail salon in over 2 years! Its such a fun hobby and skill to have. And you and your niece are so beautiful
Can you pleas do video with rubber base, I find your videos very educational and I see that rubber base became very popular material to use these days for nail overlays. I am very thankful for your educational videos, much love❤️❤️
Suzie, your teaching style is wonderful! You are positive, encouraging and kind. I share your videos with everyone, and I shared about 4 on 1 post yesterday in Facebook and tagged you😊. Keep teaching❤
Suzie, I just wanted to say I bought your e-file and I love it! The packaging was absolutely stunning, and you can tell how much care is put into it. I'm still learning how to use it, but the few times I have, I've loved it. Thank you for taking the time to make a wonderful product.
What timing!!! I'm learning to do my own nails and yesterday's attempt turned out a bit chunky. I was debating trying to thin them or just scraping them and this was the help I needed!
You did a great job! I have been there too! If it wasn't for Suzie I wouldn't be where I am now!! She a great teacher! Thank you, Suzie and Good Luck, on your new adventure!!
Aww, this is great! It gives me more confidence as a DIYer. Each nail still takes me a while to complete, but I'm getting a bit faster each time. Chunky nails is one of the newbie obstacles I'm still consciously trying to avoid. someone told me a good rule of thumb (pun intended, you're welcome!) is to aim for a "credit card" thickness when filing and shaping the free-edge.
Great video- even after years it is tricky to get consistent shaping for me. It is a great reminder video. I would appreciate a video of how to adjust or correct shaping on a whole set to make sure each nail is the same length and the apex is in the same place. I struggle with that. I would love some tips on those techniques!
Suzie is an OUTSTANDING Nail Technician professional LOVE HER SO MUCH... her work is PERFECTION!!! I personally dont like this shape for myself..I love the SQUARE shape, to me it's more natural looking
I love the look of a shorter square nail too! Unfortunately, my secretary job makes those corners catch on everything! I have more longevity with an almond or skinny oval.
@@queenbeemo42 really ok interest to know thank you for your message... On another note I don't know how the coffin shape became very popular when it was I would look at that on some women and I would just get skeeved out but to tell you the truth with square they won't break if you do not have an overlay over them and I am proof of that I wish I would have taken a picture of what my nails looked like before I had them done yesterday you would have been shocked of how long they were naturally with only clear on them and/or having a color on them which I did myself and it's weird because two of them started to have a stress fracture very low when you couldn't even cut the now that low so that's why I went yesterday and had the sheer gel coating with a green sparkly gel nail polish on top...they look good!💚💅
This video was great!! It really solidified what I had suspected: Take the bulk at the tip away from the top! I've been doing my own nails for almost a year and a half and all of your videos have helped me so much!! I only recently got into polygel products, though! Thanks!
Suzie. I’ve watched nearly all your videos and what I’ve noticed is the different files and lamps you use. Perhaps it’s time for a video on all the lamps and efiles you have in you cupboard😂😂😂 and why you use such equipment 💕
Not a nail person at all, except that I stumbled upon you a few years ago, and began to fantasize about doing an aquarium nail for my then 86 year old Mom, whose hands were beautiful, and who mostly had plain but very nice almond nails, being long retired from having to do such things as wear polish for her work life. You do such great work, and such marvellous educating, you and your lovely "cameraman". And your music. And just your amazing and encouraging spirit. Beautiful artistry I really admire, and enjoy! I do have a question. I guess I sort of AM a nail person, in that I would love to have some french manicure-ish nails, shortish squarish almon-y, because i do so much with my hands -- with simple white, instead of slightly transparent off-white tips. Years ago, I would paint the tips, using little stick-ons, or even using the sticky circle things we used to put on pages in ring binders... Would love to hear any tips for how to do that, these days.
I wish I had you around to help me! I love doing my own nails, and I would LOVE to become a professional! I don't think I have the time to go to nail school (also having a hard time finding one around me).
I have a question... I am a beginner. I did my own nails and I think I used to small tips on few nails. Can I build them out using forms without removing the tips? Or do I need to start over?
I love how you do nails! I just got acknowledged from getting a full set acrylic and I am always disappointed. Do you ever use the plastic tips? That's what most nail places use and I always end up with ski jumps.
Yes, it was the purple sanding band. Medium or fine. Will do the trick. I would use fine if you’re going to be applying nail polish. I would use medium if you’re going to be applying gel polish
Thank you for your informative videos! I've been learning a bunch and am eeady to try the hybrid gels. I notice profs call say nail files and not emery boards. Is there a difference?
I have a question for this specific almond shape, because it's the only one I like to do, and after just 2 weeks most of the point of the nails loose their shape, as I scratched them in a surface and I don't 🙈 what could it be the reason for that??
Oh my!! I wish I would have seen this video yesterday...lol cause where mine were more bulky than hers... so I started on the back side with my electric file(idk what it's really called) and it got lumpy with me.. and I used a different end that goes in the file too.. and I am very new at this too, but you taught me ALOT. my next set I'm hoping will maybe turn out better.. thank you for the video..
No- we did not any product to this nail - we simply worked with the production already had. After I filed away in the very beginning of the video, you can see near the cuticle area, but it wasn’t all there. So I could have put more products there, but for the purpose of video I was just trying to focus on shaping and showed how the nail that she had created was actually very good. It just needed to be receipt. So I wanted to do was a little to the nail is possible to prove how she already had the right direction
Custom build eliminates that - Full Cover Tips can angle upward on some natural nails - you may have a curve that tips are the best for - sculpting would solve that
I would love it if she did more videos like this again. I know she has a video for everything but idk I would love to see more of different nail shapes. I could never get enough lessons on repeated topics.
Most of the product is heavy so it falls - you can see it falling on my hands immediately when I start filing. The mask is to protect the immediate breathing zone, which is really only affecting my area. The client is far enough away. It doesn’t affect them.
Waiting for Suzie to adopt me as her niece 😂 I’m so jealous lol!
Ha-ha! Me, too. I think at 64, I am OLDER than Suzie-I could be her aunt but not her niece!

Oh Susie i have been enthralled with your videos and have asked for items for Christmas to do my nails. Thank you
Her nails looked pretty good. Everyone’s first couple of sets (especially on themselves) need a little work. Not too far off for a newbie. Great job!
Right!
I like this channel so much its giving disney vibes so its never boring to watch, thank you so much for this

It really a beautiful Efile- I love how it goes so low but still powerful - and I love the slim Handpiece
Love how she's always so positive. Love her❤
Look at you Suzie, with a set of matching nails 💕😂
Great video Aunty Suzie and Uncle Cameraman, lovely niece with super nail powers as well! ❤🇬🇧 6:39

This is great to show the correction/finishing steps instead of only from scratch.

I would have loved seeing HER trying this now herself❤
I've been licensed for about 1.5 years. This video is GOLD! Thank you! I can't wait to get back in the salon this week!
She’s a beauty! Love this ❤
Love your videos! And kudos to cameraman for the awesome shots of the nails and the process!
I was a therapist before I retired and got my nail tech license earlier this year at 53. I’ve worked wit( my niece a lot! 😀
I ❤ how simple you always explain each process.
Your niece did good. She did better than I would have done.

Understanding how to shape a nail in anticipation of that nail will look after the application of gel polish is SOOOOO difficult! 💅🏻🤔
Thank you for this video ✨ Very helpful ✨

Hey. Thank you for your content. You've taught me alot. But what was the first bit you used. Can you please add a link.
i love your videos!!! do you think you can do a video on rubber bases please 💕

Was that purple sanding band a medium or a fine I have trouble with lumps and bumps
Yes, it was the purple sanding band. Medium or fine. Will do the trick. I would use fine if you’re going to be applying nail polish. I would use medium if you’re going to be applying gel polish

No not really / they mean the same thing

Oh wow! How comes you didn’t apply gel base coat before the gel polish ?
Could I do the same thing on a set of acrylics ?
Yes you don’t need a base when apply to fake nails - base is only for natural nails
I have a question about your Matte & reveal top coat. Do I need to put on a different gel product before applying either one of these?
You can directly over a fake nail or any gel polish
Bree is beautiful! What a smile!
I'd love to have Susie do my nails😢 and teach me!
It will turn out better each and every time
This is how ya get so good - it’s the process
I am really struggling to shape my nails... I have tried with an efile but its too hard !

When you shape a nail almond, how do you make it so the nail doesn’t go upward and the side walls stay low if that makes any sense??
Custom build eliminates that - Full Cover Tips can angle upward on some natural nails - you may have a curve that tips are the best for - sculpting would solve that
Your niece almost looks like my doctor. ❤
It's weird that you reduced the length AND some of the sides, but it looks longer. It's a great optical illusion.
Yes! Isn’t that cool
Alguma brasileira por aqui?! 😊
Can you do a tutorial on coffin nails? Like from the start? I know you have a reshaping one.
I would love it if she did more videos like this again. I know she has a video for everything but idk I would love to see more of different nail shapes. I could never get enough lessons on repeated topics.
Hey suzie why no basecoat😮😮
No need when applying Gel Polish to fake nails. It also just add thickness you don’t need.
omg not me being first xx
Not a criticism. just preference as a nail tech. That shape for me reminds me of a tooth, an almond for me is softer.
👍💚👄
No manicure, no real cleaning, no base layer... The area close to the cuticle screams of neglect. Sad.
For real, what polish is Suzie wearing!!???🤍
Shouldn't you and your client be wearing a face mask?
Most of the product is heavy so it falls - you can see it falling on my hands immediately when I start filing. The mask is to protect the immediate breathing zone, which is really only affecting my area. The client is far enough away. It doesn’t affect them.
They're filming a video
She always says to wear masks when working but for the example it's fine.
