Do you have a recommendation for someone with flatter nail beds? Like what tips would be best. The c-curve I have is minimal so the strong c-curve tips never sit well on my nail, and I get air bubbles all the time
@@kristenwinegar9327 what if you have wide nails and flat i have purchase so many different kids they never fit my thumbs they too wide so they are small . what do u suggest
@@ginahires7378 watch videos on how to measure your nail bed as most manufacturer's post their sizes. I have flat nail beds so I just add more product to fill the gap. I also found that Enailcouture's DIY gel is a game changer for application. I prep my natural nail, apply a layer of the Press On gel, then put the DIY gel on the tip and slide it on my natural nail then cure.
I do that selling my press ons. however for personal use it's best to do it first so you can be sure there are no air pockets with your glue or hard gel
I have been using glue on kits (like Kiss) occasionally for 15 years and they never last. You video just taught me that I am likely using the wrong size because they tend to push into the sides of my nail bed. I just always dismissed the feeling.

I'm a beginner & I just had a couple of questions. @15:57 1. Why didn't you wipe the nail with alcohol before putting on the protein bond? 2. Does protein bond replace a gel base coat? 3. Is protein bond a necessary step or can I just stick to using first: gel base coat second gel polish and third: get top coat? 4. I cure for the longest time because I want to make sure it's completely cured, but does that mess up the polish application?
1. We use our product swipe because alcohol isn't strong enough to remove all oils from the nails. Swipe is an alcohol and acetone based product formulated to cleanse the nail perfectly for product. Here is a video about Swipe & how to use it: ruclips.net/video/lXxr0U-kHkM/видео.html 2. Protein bond is a non-acid primer. It does not take the place of your base coat. You should still use a base unless the product you are using says otherwise. 3. You don't have to use protein bond, but it acts like a double sided sticky tape to help adhere product to the nails. Here is a video on Protein Bond & how to use it: ruclips.net/video/GY8KvVKJlQE/видео.html 4. You can't overcure the gel sso as long as you are fully curing for 60 seconds, you are all good.
I had no idea you could use protein bind under gel polish! That’s brilliant and will change my polish application immensely! I always have a nail or two that my polish won’t adhere fully! Also is protein bind the same as a primer before using acrylic?
Protein bond is a non acid primer.. it doesn’t chemically etch the nail like a traditional primer does. Protein stays sticky.. sticks to the natural nail and then sticks the product.

I never thought to rough up the underside of the false nail as well!! 🤦🏾♀️ Thank you
You generally wouldn’t need to use a buffer on gel nails. buffing a gel enhancement will create too smooth of a surface for another gel or gel polish to adhere to. The only time you may want to use it is if you are polishing with a traditional polish rather than a gel polish. This can give the nail a nice smooth, finish for the traditional polish. You can also use a buffer on the natural nail during a regular manicure.
Thank you ! This really will help me, no wonder why my nails came off the HS e by the end of the day. Also I think when I put the fake nails on. I also put pink gel on top which a bit weird. So if I could see how to get gel polish done that be be great!

@@diamond2241 No, it's not the same thing at all. Builder gel is used to 'build' a nail, or build up a nail, for example, you want to strengthen a nail or add an apex to a flat nail, also fills gaps between the press-on nail and natural nail. Gem glue cannot build up a nail or fill the gap between press-on and natural nail, it solely designed to adhere crystals and other type of embellishments. Hope this helps!
Interesting. I've painted over full tips with regular, non gel polish tonsssss of times, never did any of that prep and never ever had a problem with polish lasting or chipping. I prep my own nail of course... just never the surface of the nail tip for polish 🤷♀️
I need to ask a question what about dehydrator? I know you said no bonding agent so I understood that like no primer is necessary really because that’s gonna interfere but what about dehydrator is it unnecessary? Or would you just use alcohol like you would go in with an artificial nail.
I find when I don't use a dehydrator and bonder/primer, they don't last long at all. With all my prep, I can get 4 weeks, without I get, like, 1.5. Then again, I use a UV glue and that's what made the biggest difference for me.
I've seen on Kiara Sky's insta they suggested buying a pack of the sanding bands off amazon etc and putting it over a cuticle tool and using that to rub the inside
How do you/ are you able to use full cover tips on a person who has flat nail beds? When I size the nail, there is a large gap between the nail plate and the artificial nail. Are there ways to work around this issue?
If there is an air pocket when you apply a tip, this doesn't give the tip full contact to the finger. Because it isn't adhered fully to the nail, it can pop off easier. Make sure the tip fits the nail perfectly and that you use enough pressure when applying the tip until the glue sets.
Luv ur channel. Why do my nails always feel loose when i apply them with soft or solid glue? Where can I get a medium cross cut drill bit? I can’t find it.
If the tips are not completely secured to the natural nail or if there are air pockets, this may cause the nails to feel loose. Make sure you are sizing the tips properly and using enough glue to adhere them fully.
I do the same process. Except I use mostly beetles and modelones stuff like primer, base coat, polish and top coat. And to glue on the nails I use uv gel glue so I can take my time putting on the nails because I suck at using regular glue lol. I just use rubbing alcohol to wipe with (or everclear if I’m out of rubbing alcohol 😂). With sanding the natural nail I know you say not to buff but I get really nervous using my efile on my natural nail so I use a filing foam block thing and I can usually get about 2-3 weeks of wear out of my nails which is perfect because I’m usually bored of my nails by then and want to do a new set anyways lol. Since I’m still a beginner sort of I watched your video to see if there’s anything im doing wrong or could do better but I’ve been doing the same process almost exactly as you do. Glad I’m for the most part doing everything right lol
@@alexaphillips8449 I gently buff my nails then I use rubbing alcohol to dehydrate my nails. I also make sure to rough up the underside of the nails I’m gluing on otherwise if I don’t they want to pop off.
This is SOOO HELPFUL! Thank-you so much! Do you have a vid with tips on finding full coverage, square or coffin nails for wide nail beds? I have tried 6 different brands and I'm finding that I have to do a LOT of filing the side walls to try to make the tips fit. TIA for any tips!
You would definitely have to file the nail and customize it to fit the wide nail as well as the cuticle area. Start with a tip that fits the wider free edge and taper in the cuticle area.
Thank you very much for this video. I have a question and I wonder if other people have this same problem, when I use full cover tips, and a tip is a bit too small, the next size is always too big and in trying to file it down, I think I mess up the structure of the nail tip, making my application with gel glue messy and the nail looks wide. So do I just use the nail tip that’s a bit small or do I have to work on my skill at filing down a nail tip that is too big (if I have to do this, does anybody have tips on how to properly file down big nails?)
It's best to go to a bigger size rather than using one that is too small. If the tip is too small, it won't cover all the way to the sidewalls. It's best to go to a bigger size and file the edges in. Try holding the tip and keeping your file straight along the side of the tip to keep the side straight as you take it in. You can also use a little more of the Fiber Gel on the nail to fill in space when you adhere it so it fits the curve better. Once the nail is glued on, if it still feels too wide, you can always do more filing to taper it in on the sides. Check out this video for a little more info about applying Full Cover Tips with Fiber Gel. ruclips.net/video/PUxXnCzjj2U/видео.htmlsi=nLBhPL9M4stXRTgo
Would it be possible to have the placement of the nail tip be slightly away from the cuticle and then use a dip powder to blend in the cuticle area? I was wondering if doing this, instead of using half cover tips, would be then easier to remove and also less likely to damage the nail if I were to bump them, Thank you in advance. (:
You can definitely use that technique. It can be easier to apply the full cover tips slightly away from the cuticle and you can blend them so there's no ridge and apply product over for a smooth transition. We have a great new video that shows a similar technique. ruclips.net/video/o_ey5UthKpE/видео.htmlsi=VnVjn-FG3jVQkcYp

I love it here. I’m learning so I can do my own personal nails. I’m a single mom and I need to go the cheapest way 👀
Do you have a recommendation for someone with flatter nail beds? Like what tips would be best. The c-curve I have is minimal so the strong c-curve tips never sit well on my nail, and I get air bubbles all the time
I add more builder gel if the nail has a deep c curve. I have a flatter nail bed as well.
You could also put a layer or two of top coat on the underside of the nail tip, that way you can have the look of the curve but it fit better.
Use more glue and don’t press the nail down, float it so the glue acts as a leveler
Thanks for the video. What glue do you use? How come you didn't have to cure it immediately?
We used nail glue to adhere our tips in this video. Glue does not need to be cured.
What about prepping and painting and designing before applying the nail
I do that selling my press ons. however for personal use it's best to do it first so you can be sure there are no air pockets with your glue or hard gel
Can we expect single size refills for the full coverage tips in the future?
That's what I would like to know... can you do a refill with full cover tips...
Love your glasses they look very good on you.
I have been using glue on kits (like Kiss) occasionally for 15 years and they never last. You video just taught me that I am likely using the wrong size because they tend to push into the sides of my nail bed. I just always dismissed the feeling.
“Ah I never clean the house” lol 😂 I love it! Gotta take care of your nails 💅
love your videos. wish we had good access to your products in Europe (for me is France)
We don't have a distributor in France, but we do in Netherlands, Switzerland and UK. You could contact them to see if they are able to ship to you! www.youngnails.com/pages/locate-distributor
I'm a beginner & I just had a couple of questions.
@15:57
Here is a video about Swipe & how to use it: ruclips.net/video/lXxr0U-kHkM/видео.html
2. Protein bond is a non-acid primer. It does not take the place of your base coat. You should still use a base unless the product you are using says otherwise.
3. You don't have to use protein bond, but it acts like a double sided sticky tape to help adhere product to the nails. Here is a video on Protein Bond & how to use it: ruclips.net/video/GY8KvVKJlQE/видео.html
4. You can't overcure the gel sso as long as you are fully curing for 60 seconds, you are all good.
I LOVE YOUR SHIRT!!! 👏🏻🥰
I learned so much thank you. Love all your videos.
I already know most things in this video but a lot I also didn’t know so thank you sooo much have an amazing day
Thank you I’ve been doing my own nails for a while , but found that the glue wasn’t distributed evenly . you just helped me that I need to go down into the cuticle close enough to close the gaps so this seems to be working and I just wanted to say thank you very much and also I wasn’t roughing up the nail I was leaving it shiny so the polish wasn’t lasting as long either so I believe that I got the hang of it now😊
I never thought to rough up the underside of the false nail as well!! 🤦🏾♀️ Thank you
Thank you! I didn't know the buffer is not right to use before base gel.. When is it ok to use the buffer on gel nails? Or not at all?
You generally wouldn’t need to use a buffer on gel nails. buffing a gel enhancement will create too smooth of a surface for another gel or gel polish to adhere to. The only time you may want to use it is if you are polishing with a traditional polish rather than a gel polish. This can give the nail a nice smooth, finish for the traditional polish. You can also use a buffer on the natural nail during a regular manicure.
@@youngnailsinc Good to know. Thank you very much for explaining ❤️
No wonder I start to see shrinkage as the week goes on, I haven't been prepping my press-ons before gel polish
Thank you sooooo much for this video!!! so informative
Thank you ! This really will help me, no wonder why my nails came off the HS e by the end of the day. Also I think when I put the fake nails on. I also put pink gel on top which a bit weird. So if I could see how to get gel polish done that be be great!
We’re nail size twins!🤣 love your guys videos!
same
Thanks Tracie. And thank you for filling orders in the warehouse.
Thank you so much for explaining the process so clearly. xx
Hi, I am a big fan of YN, I have a couple questions regarding full cover tips. how many weeks can stay on our nail, using acetone to soak off or E- file. And what about fill after weeks, what type product would you recommend
Thank you so much for all this tips❤💅🏼
You are so welcome!
Thank you so much!! Like always you all provide the best content. I recently started using full cover tips. Just had a recent “ooops” moment. 😅 But looking at this video has given me the confidence to try it again. I tend to be heavy handed 😬 Thank you for all you do it is much appreciated!! 🥰❤️🙏🏾
I love everything that Young Nails creates! Tracy, where did you buy your beautiful shirt/sweater? It’s my kind of shirt.😊
I was wondering the same thing 😍
I too took notice of her top, it is very unique!
What if the tips are weaker in general and if I don't have protein bond?
Can I strengthen it with a builder gel?
I love ur videos so much thy helped massively
Loved this video! Definitely helped to understand what I’m doing wrong lol THANK U🙏🏾
I ❤❤❤ that u came out with a vid about this BECUZ this us my 'go to'when doing my OWN nails!!! Thx Tracy &YNI Greatly appreciate the insight ❤💅..... SN: I use builder gel to stick them on and also to build up on top of the nail for added strength 💪😁
Yes gel builder to stick them on ia great
Is builder gel the same thing as the rhinestone gel?
@@diamond2241 I don't believe so..... I tried securing my bling with builder gel and it didn't wrk...... not sure if it was just me but I just use rhinestone gel or nail glue resin
@@ESC075Chitown so rhinestone gel works? I have a hard time with my nails always popping off even if I get them done in a salon. Im gonna try these tips but if there is something better than glue I wanna try it. I bought rhinestone glue a few days ago and it works well on the stones. Do I have to cure it? And if so how long?
I use dehydrator on my natural nail before I glue on the press on it works well for me. But I will try without next tine.
I need to ask a question what about dehydrator? I know you said no bonding agent so I understood that like no primer is necessary really because that’s gonna interfere but what about dehydrator is it unnecessary? Or would you just use alcohol like you would go in with an artificial nail.
We use our Swipe to clean the nail after removing shine. Here is another video for you: ruclips.net/video/yU46vv59oBo/видео.html
I find when I don't use a dehydrator and bonder/primer, they don't last long at all. With all my prep, I can get 4 weeks, without I get, like, 1.5. Then again, I use a UV glue and that's what made the biggest difference for me.
Do you use the dehydrator under the full coverage nail or on top of it? I've been doing it under with my uv gel glue and they come off in a few days.
@@tristinminner4716 Have you tried using a protein bond/ primer after dehydrating the nails?
What is a dehydrater in plain terms. Is it the cuticle oil or is it the clear oil?
Thank you for taking the time to make all of your helpful videos. Can you PLEASE tell me, what is the nude color she’s wearing on her right hand?
It's our cover pink acrylic powder.
Do you have a video showing how the prep the underside of the false nail when you don't have an e-file?
Hi! You can wipe them with a little acetone. This also saves you so much time :)
Good question same here
Hi guys, great video.
Can you do one that adds builder gel on for strength.
Before colour.
Thanks . Maureen
How do you stop the "bump" from the full cover tip and the cuiticle when the nail starts to grow ? Im having big problems with this using biab
Here is a great video for you: ruclips.net/video/PUxXnCzjj2U/видео.html
@@youngnailsinc thankyou xx
Does air bubble in glue effect on lasting of nails
If there is an air pocket when you apply a tip, this doesn't give the tip full contact to the finger. Because it isn't adhered fully to the nail, it can pop off easier. Make sure the tip fits the nail perfectly and that you use enough pressure when applying the tip until the glue sets.
Hi love how you show fake nail is right for us, but I like to know what glue did you use?
It's ours. All of our products are available on our website, youngnails.com.
Do you have a video with applying the full coverage tips with gel?
Here is a great video for you: ruclips.net/video/yU46vv59oBo/видео.html
Quick question in terms of the width of these tips do they accommodate for a person with 20 mm wide thumb nails?
Kiara Sky gelly tips have a size 00 for wider thumbs, maybe have a look at it.
Thanks for video, very informative for a diy"r. Why did you not use a basecoat before polish? Thanks
Do you put anything before the uv gel glue? Foundation or certain primer? Or can you just dehydrate with alcohol ?:)
@@alexaphillips8449 I gently buff my nails then I use rubbing alcohol to dehydrate my nails. I also make sure to rough up the underside of the nails I’m gluing on otherwise if I don’t they want to pop off.
I was just thinking about this and woke to see this video. Thanks so much.

“I’m cleaning the house. I hit the … Eh, I never clean the house.” 😂
Man I did my sister nails for the first time and im still sad that they came off I used full cover Gel tips I think where I went wrong wrong was I didn't drill the shine off her natural nails I just used the nail file instead and also I should have used my regular nail tips idk sometimes I think doing nails is not working for me but I love doing them I hope I get clients soon if not next year hopefully I really want clients and make a nail career doing this ! I'm self taught to so I just love learning and watching nail videos and I'm gonna try to keep working on my nail skills and see how far it gets me 🥺😫💯

Hi. After nail tip on finger. Why not put primer base c?
Base is not required on top of an enhancement as the enhancement acts as the base.
I never take the shine off my press ons and haven't had any problems with the polish peeling, now of course cause I said that now it'll start to 😂.
Ive never done it either and never had a problem

Would love to see this process on tiny nail beds like mine. I really struggle with this.
With smaller nail beds, they would most likely just use smaller sizes or the tips can be filed to fit, as long as they fit the c-curve of the nail.
You can see in this video she has small nail beds but we didn't need to size since we already knew her sizes.
ruclips.net/video/paAlr1qS_q4/видео.html
you guys should make like sizes that you can buy again and put it in the normal box where all of the sizes are.
Hi learn a lot from ur vid. I’m getting better doing my nails. Just wanna ask what nail drill are u using?
We are using our e-file. It is available on our website, youngnails.com.
Can you do a video on flat nail beds? Like how to use full cover nails on flatbeds. I have flatbeds and can't get full cover nails to hold on to them. What brands to use? etc. TY
If you can't find flatter tips, you could use polygel to help fill in some space between the tip and your natural nail. (The polygel would also act as the adhesive.)
I love your videos always so well done 😁
Great video! That glue name need to be just what you need because it's so good!
