Mia Secret makes a great primer and while I was initially doing the fills, I would brush a small amount of primer on the edge of the full cover nail growing away from the cuticle to seam it to my natural nail. You couldn't tell they weren't my own nails. Good Luck with them!
I've tried to reduce spillover by applying the adhesive gel to 90% of my nail bed and leaving an open space for the gel to squish *up* to the free edge of natural nails. So far so good.
Tip: put your lamp on top of the box it came in when curing your nail tips on! I found it super awkward with the beetles lamp being on the table but not at all once I raised it up

Well done. Nails look great!. I recommend that if you choose not to clean up underneath, you should at least clean off the sticky layer from the cured gel so as not to attract dirt and keep your nails optimal looking.

Run your drill normally across a normal file to get rid of your spur. You should do this anyway on all new heads, kind of like seasoning them to get rid of spurs that can be on straight from the factory...hope this helps.

What do you mean " like a press on" I've been doing press ons for years and they look as beautiful as yours . But...I'm trying this gelx because I want them on longer than the week or so my press ons
If you run that bit with the spur on a regular nail file it will help smooth it out so that you can use it without it hurting your cuticle. I've had to do that a couple times with new bits and it helps

Nice, in this pandemic I started off doing my own nails with dip powder and then I went in to doing this. I love it! Now I have all this acrylic powder that I don't know what to do with... I have so many different colors! Lol But anyway, before I add my gel polish I do a layer of base gel before and then polish. I know it's not necessary but it makes the nail last longer and harder too plus polish looks way smoother.
I have very thin nails and I won't be able to use the electronic file. The best I can use would be ridge remover fine file to take the shine off. Would that be an acceptable alternative?
Hi, I find that if I apply the tip right up to the cuticle (which looks best at first) as it grows out it doesn’t look great as there was not room to take the topcoat over the edge to make grow out look neat. Any tips welcome x
You can leave space between the tip and the cuticle and then apply foundation gel to fill in the area or you can thin out the cuticle area of the tips a bit with a file before applying.

I started using these kinds of tips but I have a problem. My nails are medium long and the free edge goes downwards. Therefore, if the tip fits the cuticle area really well, it does not fit the free edge. Should I cut my nails short? Should I simply fill the space and practically incorporate the free edge into the 'new' free edge? Help! 🙈
I always cut my nails really short before applying but I’ve seen them applied on longer nails, try adding more gel to fill the space I would assume or at the very least file the free edge and remove the portion of your nail that curves downward. I’m not a licensed nail tech so that’s just a suggestion from a DIY’er
Help!, I followed your nails prep and application step by step but 3 of my nails have popped off in 1 day 😔 the first coat of base gel remains but the gel applied to the tips peeled away from the real nail first coat. i used all the same products except the base gel. And I didn't get any bubbles. I'm not new at diy nails so I'm just stumped on what went wrong🤔🤷♀️ they look beautiful! I even got the same gel polish color. @@PerfumedAndPolished yes I did all that, it seems that they separated from the first base gel layer on the natural nails and the gel layer on the inside of the tips, so weird! Was I supposed to do something after cureing the first base layer on the natural nail? like removal of the inhibition layer or filing after the first gel layer to get the 1st and second layer to bond. I flash cure to save time, instead of fully curing each individual nail in the small lamp I fully cure all at once in my large lamp. The flash cure just ensures the nail won’t move before I fully cure but if you choose to you could just fully cure in the small lamp as well. Thank you 😊

Yes, I apply close to the cuticle. You can also leave a little space if you’d like and just blend in with the natural nail.

It’s called foundation gel similar to a gel base coat just a little thicker.
Can you paint the nails before you apply them?
I’m not sure if the light will penetrate to cure the nails if they are pre-painted.

This might seem like a dumb question but how come you don’t paint over the shiny tips?
Gel polish may peel away from the tip if left shiny, roughing up the surface helps with adhesion.

Was I supposed to do something after cureing the first base layer on the natural nail? like removal of the inhibition layer or filing after the first gel layer to get the 1st and second layer to bond. You can, just takes longer to cure each individual nail.

Hey girl, do you stick them on with the foundation polish from Gelish ? And they stay ? And how would you infill these ?
I use a foundation gel to adhere and I use that same gel to do a fill.

I flash cure to save time, instead of fully curing each individual nail in the small lamp I fully cure all at once in my large lamp. The flash cure just ensures the nail won’t move before I fully cure but if you choose to you could just fully cure in the small lamp as well. Thank you 😊

Hi what did you use to put the tips? Was wondering if it’s only top coat?, you didn’t even use glue to put them on.
I used foundation gel and cured in an LED/UV lamp to adhere the tips.

@@areeyakommuang6447 I've seen in some comments that it might not work well. You can use builder in a bottle. Polygel works well too.
