    What a great and detailed video. I used to do dip powder over nail tips and fills were so hard for me. Full cover is the answer. I'm well into my second week of my first set of Kiara Sky and have already filed off my polish twice with no issues and no need for a fill. Your channel is so helpful!

      Mia Secret makes a great primer and while I was initially doing the fills, I would brush a small amount of primer on the edge of the full cover nail growing away from the cuticle to seam it to my natural nail. You couldn't tell they weren't my own nails. Good Luck with them!

    I started using these kinds of tips but I have a problem. My nails are medium long and the free edge goes downwards. Therefore, if the tip fits the cuticle area really well, it does not fit the free edge. Should I cut my nails short? Should I simply fill the space and practically incorporate the free edge into the 'new' free edge? Help! 🙈

      I always cut my nails really short before applying but I’ve seen them applied on longer nails, try adding more gel to fill the space I would assume or at the very least file the free edge and remove the portion of your nail that curves downward. I’m not a licensed nail tech so that’s just a suggestion from a DIY’er

    This might seem like a dumb question but how come you don’t paint over the shiny tips?

    • @PerfumedAndPolished
      @PerfumedAndPolished  2 года назад +3

      Gel polish may peel away from the tip if left shiny, roughing up the surface helps with adhesion.

      Help!, I followed your nails prep and application step by step but 3 of my nails have popped off in 1 day 😔 the first coat of base gel remains but the gel applied to the tips peeled away from the real nail first coat. i used all the same products except the base gel. And I didn't get any bubbles. I'm not new at diy nails so I'm just stumped on what went wrong🤔🤷‍♀️ they look beautiful! I even got the same gel polish color. If you have any other tips and tricks for me I'd appreciate it. Thank you for your time😊

      @@sharonogallagher7897 Oh no! I’m sorry to hear that, did you etch the inside of the tips and buff the surface of your natural nail? Did you cleanse your nails of any oils/lotions before you started applying? I can’t think of anything else that may cause them to pop off.

      @@PerfumedAndPolished yes I did all that, it seems that they separated from the first base gel layer on the natural nails and the gel layer on the inside of the tips, so weird! Was I supposed to do something after cureing the first base layer on the natural nail? like removal of the inhibition layer or filing after the first gel layer to get the 1st and second layer to bond. Thank you for all your help😊

      I flash cure to save time, instead of fully curing each individual nail in the small lamp I fully cure all at once in my large lamp. The flash cure just ensures the nail won’t move before I fully cure but if you choose to you could just fully cure in the small lamp as well. Thank you 😊
