    Hi Suzie...love your videos! I used to go to a salon to get my nails done. But the last time I was there the nail tech cut four of my cuticles. They were still bleeding when I got home. That was the last the time I went.
    I started doing my own nails in January of this year. I would take pictures of each set I would do and looking back I noticed how much better I got... the first set took me 6 1/2 hours to do...I was really discouraged but I kept watching your videos and in one of them you told Grant that it took you 6 hours the first time. So I picked my discouraged butt up and continued. I’m happy to say it now takes me 4 hours...still not as fast as I would like it to go but they do look pretty good!
    Thank you for being such an inspiration to me ❤️

    • @mkskupa
      @mkskupa 5 лет назад +9

      Cheryl Campbell I’m in the same boat as you with the time it takes me. I’m down to 3 hours for full sculpted set of extensions, color, and whatever nail art I decide to try on myself. My extensions are getting better (1st few looked like Frankenstein nails...all lumpy and misshapen). And shaping them took f-o-r-e-v-e-r! But I keep watching Suzie also, and she keeps me motivated and encouraged. I actually get a lot of compliments now. So far from pro times, but hey...we’re still learning! I’m actually going to try airbrush designs next. I just bought an airbrush from Young Nails and some acrylic art paints for it. I’ll probably be next seen with airbrushed colors all over my face and hair! Maybe I should wait until Halloween to try this??

    • @3lizabetch

      I know how that goes. It took me 6 hours to do polygel nails yesterday. It was my first time and it was not nearly as easy as I thought it looked. :( It was a horrible feeling seeing that I spent the entire afternoon doing it when I feel like I never have enough free time. :( So discouraging.

    OMG OMG THANK YOU SO SO MYCH FOR THIS VIDEO!! I have been struggling for almost 3 years of trying to teach myself how to shape nails. Coffin shape had been the culprit of my insanity when it comes to shaping. I couldn’t figure out how to get it tapered enough with out losing the c curve. Until today when u said ONE SIMPLE SENTENCE. You said “ remember if you just file the thickness on the sides you will get a stronger coffin shape”. THAT WAS THE ANSWER TO MY PRAYERS. I have even gotten a little insecure about my work. But Susie? You made it all come together for me. I did my own nails a full set sculpted gels and it is by far hands down the best set I’ve ever done. The saga is us exactly the same in each nail they look amazing. Thank you so much I love you and I just want you to know that out of hundreds of nail artists and educators on RUclips and after watching THOUSANDS of hours or videos on shaping your one simple statement was a game changer for me and I’m so grateful for you. Love you thank you.

    This video is exactly what i needed!! The little tips and tricks on getting the sides even without over filing by hand or taking away too much with my drill especially when i know my sides are perfectly straight! Its the top of the nail and top sides that get "chunky" spots and now with the help of this video..the set of nails i did earlier today but didnt have the chance to file yet...after this video took me less then 20 min! Compared to hour+ i can sit after application getting everything all smoothed out and perfect. I am self taught in addition to the help of your education videos and i cant thank you enough for your amazing talent and videos!

    I have been watching your videos since I found them during the pandemic and finally got up the courage to try again to do my own acrylics with tips and everything a few weeks ago. (The first-time I ever tried it I asked my husband to help me and he knocked the monomer over and it ruined the kitchen table. I went back to my nail tech and had continued to go for years) I went down to Sally's and bought the Beauty Secrets odorless acrylic kit, the exact tips, and the exact glue that my nail tech uses. I followed the instructions in the kit and you on a video. I was able to go through the video and pause it. I actually did it! My smile line needs work but I'm getting better at it. I also am struggling with the length and how to get them all the same length. I had been hand filing it all from start to finish. I bought this drill off Amazon after watching you use it in this video and I can't wait to use it! I also bought one of those tip cutters that is the one with the wheel that spins that attaches to it. It is supposed to be delivered tomorrow. Have you ever used one of those? It's supposed to help you cut them all the same length. Could you do a video on that product if you haven't already? Susie I want to thank you so much for your channel and helping me learn to do this at home! I took 4 years of Cosmetology in high school and this is something she never actually taught us how to do. Now I can do my nails how I want and on my own time thanks to your help! 💖

I've now done one full set of poly gel nails from scratch (my first ever not using tips) and one fill of the same nails and I'm IN LOVE with this drill! I started with a cheap one just to see if I liked it and now upgrading to this baby I love love love it. Faster, no numb hand from vibrations, and I love that it holds my favorite bits. It'll be staying on my vanity for a long time. Thank you Susie and melody Susie!!!

    In my experience, using the rainbow colored bits are "softer" then the traditional carbide or ceramic bits. The rainbow bits have a grit rating, but I've found them to be softer than what they say their grit is. And the ceramic ones are often courser or sharper than they say. I haven't come across this using "professional" bits (like from EricaATA or Young Nails for example). These are good bits for learning but don't last through hours of daily use. The generic bits wear out faster.

      If you work with acrylic, try not to get the acrylic/monomer on your skin a lot because people can develop reactions from too much skin exposure if they do it a lot. Don't get worried about it, i just don't want you to be 'allergic' to doing your nails.

    Could you please show us how to file underneath the nail with an e-file to get that ”c-curve”. Love your vids💕

    • @uglyazzzbitsh
      @uglyazzzbitsh 4 года назад

      What do you mean? Like, you dont file the c curve you’re building it from the start

    • @bbubelgum
      @bbubelgum 4 года назад +2

      Idk Idc i know but sometimes I’ve seen people shape and file under to get more like a c curve.. but maybe I’m wrong

    • @crookshanks151
      @crookshanks151 4 года назад

      Whoami hey there! You’re right! Some people do file the c-curve a bit to smooth it out. Suzie did so in a video about applying tips with polygel. It looked like she was using a ceramic but. She was using it over the whole gel nail to smooth it out. You should have a nice and natural looking curve after building, but you absolutely can fix it up with a bit. Good question! I hope you get a more specific answer soon 💙✨

      C curve comes from either a c curved tip or application of acrylic using nail forms

    Hi Suzie♥️ I loved the video 😊 I use the brush bit to clean in between the grooves/teeth on the other bits. I've tried using it to clean clients nails but it falls short. A manicure brush is better suited for that task.

    I have ordered this efile on both this review and a recommendation from a friend in class and in praying it is great. I don't can't afford a high end, several hundred dollar efile right now as I'm still only a student and in Australia everything is so expensive even this efile which is "cheaper" still cost me $150. Fingers crossed it works well! I don't need something crazy amazing, but if ir, along with the new bits I have ordered removed product as easily as it seams in this video I think it will work very well for me!

I have my own business 😊 I actually just ordered that efile before seeing this video now I am so excited that I ordered it because I saw you using it. You inspire me so much to do nails. Hopefully one day I’ll get to meet you and take one of your classes.

      I was really confused by your use of 'tips.' To manicurists, tips are glue-on plastic nail tips. The things you are talking about are *bits.* E-file bits, to be specific.

    Squares on natural nails is the bain lf my existence. My nail beds are rather uneven and crooked because I would bite my nails when I was younger and didn't really take care them overall. I've been working on them since I was sixteen maybe I'm turning twenty this month. But I can't seem to get them to even out.

    Hey, Suzie you and Liz helper me so much on how to improve my nail skills. I have gotten so much better and I'm getting faster, slowly getting faster. I still have a lot to keep practicing with encapsulations, 3D flowers, ombre, and your favorite pink and white French tips haha. At this point I just got to keep practicing. Thank you for your time, amazng skills, and these videos. It's really hard to save up and travel to these trade shows with children and added expenses.

    Thank you for letting me know that monomer burning isn't normal! Whenever I can get my nails done again, I will make sure to mention that to the nail tech if it does happen. I have allergies and sensitivities to a lot of things, which I didn't think about beforehand.

      If that happens to customers, maybe your allergic to primer? If So, try the dip powder or hard gel. That usually works out best for the customers.
