this video is invaluable!! i keep seeing those last 2 efiles all over ebay and aliexpress. it's so helpful to know that you should NEVER use those drills on natural nails, and that the handpiece's vibration and barrel size will make both you AND your client's hands sore!! i think i'll buy the efile with the digital screen, where you can PRECISELY select the speed. love you suzie!!
I love how informative this lady is. My daughter and i wish so much that she could do our nails. And she is an absolutely gorgeous lady. Thank you for your time and making this video.
I did purchase the Makartt version first, but it was too clunky for my small nail space. I did like the brand though, so I purchased the white mobile rechargeable version that Makartt sells. I really like it!

Im sorry about your mother in law😕 Im throwing lots of stuff in this video. I want to say THANK YOU for support- i know youve subscribed since the start of my channel🤗
I am spoiled with my efile. I spent $350 (on sale) for my file 5 yrs ago. It is still going strong. It is amazing. It is a Medicool Pro Power 35k...just fyi. It has good torque, great speed variation, foot pedal, and very very low vibration. All efiles will have a slight vibration, but it should be so minute you hardly notice it. Investing in good, long lasting equipment pays off in the end.
@@lynnmiller8692 if you are a licensed nail tech or are going to be, I would say yes. If you are a DIY, I would recommend the Airsee NS2036 cordless on Amazon (about $80). It is a really good efile, but not sure on the longevity lifespan of it. I have been using it at home for 3 months. I love the fact it is powerful and very little vibration.
Im not a nail tech and i dont wanna become one. I just really like nails and ur videos. I dont do my nails with acrylics or gel, just polish but i still watch ur channel😋❤
One of my best friends did My acrylics yesterday. I've never had them and now I'm in love! I want to get better at them for myself and my friends, so I'm binging all your videos to try and understand as much as possible before I buy a simple kit.
I do not usually comment on videos, but I need to tell you, you taught me everything I know about acrylic nails and I'm very grateful to you and your work. The quality of the videos is impeccable, their way of teaching... everything is so great! I am from Brazil and here acrylic nails are not a thing, everyone asks me about my nails, they are amazed when I say that it is me who does them. I could have an income through your teachings. You taught me from scratch. Thank you Suzie ❤️
Carlita Bonita I see a ton of high end nail salons using Mani Pro Passport cordless. Now it's kinda pricey, but it's so worth it. There is another one that is a cheaper version of the Mani Pro Passport. It's by Makartt JD855. It's $53.28 on eBay. I use this one when I'm doing a repair on my own acrylic nails or practicing on my mannequin hand. It's pretty good for the price.
so i ask my hubby to get me one of those from amazon n he was like “why do you want to buy new one, i got heaps of them in storage” then i realize he was talking about his mini drill for his electronic class 😑
LMFAO! You kno what I just recently learned? I learned that the reason you're not supposed to use power tool drills on ur nails is cuz they use pre-set variable speeds and that's not really good when you're trying to use them on lil fingers :)
Just bought the 1st one from Makartt today. I have the Belle drill and that's why I was looking for a different one. It's pretty but is way too fast when I'm trying to smooth the top of the nail. Works great for shaping and debulking acrylic though.
I was watching this and I bought the last drill you tested, before I checked your channel. It is hard to use. I have bought a new one with built in fan and light at 30,000 RPM. I really appreciate your videos. I have learned a lot. Thanks Suzie.
@Nail Career Education, I'm curious and looking forward to working with an e-file. I don't want to waste money purchasing an e-file I'll end up hating... what e-file are you using and can you introduce it to us?
I am super new with doing my nails at home, so your reviews are so incredible helpful! I been recently watching your videos and have learned much. So thank you so much Susie! I just want to say that you are a very beautiful woman and the sweater you're wearing is to die for. I'm a big sweater lover and the softer the sweater, the greater the love. Thanks again!!
This was so informative, thank you! I'm not a nail tech, but your videos are so good...great to know the "right way" 😍 ps: I'm addicted to your manicure videos... LOVE your personality!!
Inexpensive e-file - Suzie: "This one was $50." Me looking at the $17 one in my wishlist.... :( Perhaps I should save up for something much better and practice hand filing in the meantime.
Well if you're just doing your own nails, there's nothing wrong with starting off with an inexpensive model with less bells and whistles to see if it's something you'll get use out of!
@@shelbyb9965 I actually went ahead and bought a $60 one because I didn't want to hurt myself and decided if I was going to learn I should have something mid range.
Susie, your videos are always so practical and pragmatic, and I can always count on getting honest input from you on products available to me (as a lay person DIYing my own nails at home). Thank you for this review!
Would be great to see you review the cheaper nail dust collectors if you have the time. So many about just don't want to buy one if its not going to work. Great video Susie so thanks for taking the time to show us,thanks!
I just bought the new makartt one off amazon and it’s amazing. I’m quit sure that there are better brands out there but I only do my nails and occasionally my SIL’s so a $400+ dust system isn’t really all that practical. I’ve tried several of the cheaper ones...even had hubby make me a under desk mounted one by removing the motor and mounting it under my desk after cutting a hole. Great concept just crappy motors. I bought several different fan motors in an effort to make that work better and no dice. The makartt one works amazing. Search makartt dust collector on RUclips.....endless videos about it on there. Good luck!!!!
@@kellywilliams6767 yes I bought the cheap purple nail drill for £20 from Amazon, had it 2 years still amazing. The nova flair looks the best dust collector I have ever seen but like you I only do it as a hobby. Saw a video of someone use a kitchen extractor fan for making a dust collector too.
*Definitely light weight. I have used this on a client and with my own acrylics. I have been using this for 2 months now and it’s still working! It comes with a basic set of diamond bits, a nail brush, a buffer, and 100/180 grit sanding band replacements. I haven’t had any trouble with it. I’m pleased that I’m able to adjust speed and I get the option of using a foot pedal that came with it. I’d say this is a perfect drill if your just starting or just wanting to do some home DIY nails.*
Hey Suzie I have a request. Can you do a video on hand files and focus on what grit to use and when. Im just starting out but I don't want to get an e file just yet. I know a 100/180 grit is used to take off product but what grit do you use after you're done with that? Like what grit do you use to buff the nail and what grit to smooth the top of the acrylic for polishing? Thanks in advance♡
hi suzie & cameraman! ive been subscribed for several months now and refer anyone who asks me about my nails (have been doing them over a year with gel at home!) to your channel! i also wanted to let you know you got me to change up my nail routine pretty drastically. i've added an apex for more structure, against my earlier reservations, and i'm actually in love with how strong they feel, now that i've worn my nails long for so long! idk, i've just picked up so many little tips from y'all, and even changed my mind about two things i absolutely despised before- apexes and acrylic! while i'm still wary about acrylic because of the lack of bend that you get with gel, I'm REALLY excited to work with polygel instead!! thank you so much for showing us all these things, you really are the sweet teachermom of the YT nail community
I own the Belle. I am licensed but not working on clients at the moment. For me, this works. I will invest in a better one at a later time. I only use it on the low speed unless I’m removing acrylic. I know what works for me. I don’t use the bits that came with it. I bought carbide bits which work excellent. I know when I start doing clients again, I need to upgrade.
Nicole Nikki B I’ve been looking at the Makartt ones but the portable options. I just can’t shell out $300-500 on a Kupa or something until I get my funds saved.
Qubilah Jones I looked into those too. The only thing I don’t like about the portable ones it’s that you can’t use it when it’s plugged in. So it would have to be charged. But the reviews on Kuppa are good. But you’re right, they’re so expensive 😩
SeekNDstroy36 Mass I really love mine. I also love the fat handle because with my age, it’s better for my hands overall. The power even on low is what I love most. It saves me from putting too much pressure on my nails and creating that burning sensation. I have gold carbide bits and now want some ceramic ones.
I am a jeweler. I started using a cheaper nail efile because i have much more control than with my Foredom or dremel tool i once used. The one i use is quiet good. Its a BTArtbox. I think i paided $30 usd for it on Amazon. I bought it to make jewelery. Than i started doing my nails with it. I wear a lot of gel nails. One thing lead to another and i actually went school to get my licsence. I will never work as a Nail tech but it helps when doing mine or friends nails. I did 600 hours here in Texas. I love your channel. I learn alot of tips from you. More so than i did in school. I got the idea of the nail efile from school actually. It really is good for several applications. I use it in RC models too.
I'm looking at e files now.... the model you're referring to, does it have the floor pedal? And if so, stepping down on the pedal, does this start/stop rotation only?or does applying pressure to the pedal dictate speed variations as well? Ty for any input ❤ I'm curious about the differences in control with how speed is adjusted between different machines .... Definitely could use an update from this pro channel!
I want to start doing my nails and watching your videos is giving me like.. a phD in nails. the quality of your videos is unlike anything I've ever seen. you explain everything, from what you get right, to your mistakes and I can't stop watching! you're so honest about products and you have just earned a new subscriber! Hi Suzy! I am from the UK and I have just started watching your videos. I am absolutely delighted with what I am seeing and hearing. I am a hairstylist and have been in the industry for many years. I also trained in cosmetic makeup and manicure which has been invaluable, but I have been so nervous about doing nail extension and using the electrical equipment needed for certain processes. Your videos have and are giving me so much confidence in getting started. Thank you for you,and for youtube. xx❤
+NailCareerEducation Suzie what are you're top 5 most needed bits anyway? It's funny that you did this video I was just looking at drill bits to get. I have a little drill already I hope all bits fit in all drills? I think mine is the standard size but idk.
Thanks for doing this video, because of it I have purchased and received my JD700 e-drill and it was the best decision I have ever made regarding a good quality product, concerning manicure & pedicure. I am new to all of this, I'm still very much at the learning stage, and I'm finding it all rather interesting, thanks once again. This machine is truly fantastic, and sooo quiet even at its highest speed, it's brilliant.
Hi Suzie I LOVE the video's you do. I did buy the first E-file you reviewed for my e-file training the start of this year & it's fabulous I didn't think it would last but it's still going strong lol, thank you for been so informative I your vidoes .
Suzie thank you so much for help with picking a drill. I got the Markett one. 💗 thank you for all tips and tricks and help. You quickly have became one of my favorites on the nail scene.
The very last time a nailtech touched my hands was over 10 years ago. Up until that point I had a fill every 3 weeks and you wouldn't have caught me dead without nails. The nailtech drilled through my natural nail, down into the nail bed. I literally screamed. It was horrific and scary to say the least. He then proceeded to throw glue to try to seal the exposed flesh, and it burned like crazy! I got such a horrible infection and my nail still has a huge dip in it. From the side you can see where he took part of my nail bed off.
Good grief. Sounds traumatizing. Sorry you experienced that. This is why I'm afraid to sit with a tech, you never truly know who is good and cares about nail health
I actually bought the last one & it stopped working after a week because the dust got into the drill & caused it to stop turning it ruined my cuticles I am new at doing nails but Susie you have taught me so much thank you
MelodySusie makes great starter gel polishes. They apply nicely and the colors are nice. I have some of their sets from Amazon they're great for just doing my own basic gel nails.
This came up in my recs and I couldn't click on it fast enough! OK so I've had that Bella one for 2 years now and I'm just a homebody who gets anxiety going to the salon and see I THOUGHT OMG this thing is dangerous and I've NEVER used it on my natural nails AND I've never got off the low setting with it because it scares me so it did me a lot of good seeing what you said about it...I was GLUED to the screen watching you with it. I've never commented before Suzie because I love watching your videos at night to relax. I have a hard time relaxing and your voice and methods are so soothing to me not to mention you do BEAUTIFUL nails :D xoxo Mary
Define inexpensive. Everyone's budget is different. Plus, some times the cheaper ones can be dangerous because the chemicals can cause chemical burns and possible deterioration of your nails. The expensive ones are priced for a reason for the sake of the brand and quality.
Mias secret formagel is easy and great to use. Great covergels too. Nice and thick. The candy pink is a great opaque pink They have soooooo many affordable colored Acrylic and cover acrylic.

Victoria Thomascik Heyy, sorry for the late comment but is it long lasting? I don’t have a lot of money to blow but I’d like a long lasting drill, they’re nearly $100 Canadian 😂 thanks😊
This is one of the best reviews I have ever seen. Detailed, informative and to-the-point. I was JUST getting ready to purchase the cheaper option and I'm glad I didn't. It's WAY too fast for the natural nail, and being diabetic, I would have been in trouble. I think I'll spend a little extra and go for the first option. Thanks Suzie and Camera Man! XOXO

I enjoyed this review. Very detailed. Sense U didn't like ANY of these drill bits; what/which ones do U recommend/use? Please do a short video. Thanks 4 sharing😁😁
Wow! Watching this has made me realize how I’ve been going to horrible nail techs! I used to want to cry going to this Asian Guy! He did fabulous work, but I would cringe when he brought out the drill! My nail would burn and my skin around my nails and my cuticles would be bleeding and scabbed by the end of my session. He told me that it was normal, but I now know it’s not! Thank you so much for teaching us about drills! ❤️

Renee Nunya thanks! Thinking about the medicool tf11 ($120) or the ugly duckling cordless ($290). Thoughts?
Im not a nail tech and i dont wanna become one. I just really like nails and ur videos. I dont do my nails with acrylics or gel, just polish but i still watch ur channel😋❤
Same! I've never had acrylic, I only paint my nails once a week. And I watch these videos all the time, I get so hooked!!
One of my best friends did My acrylics yesterday. I've never had them and now I'm in love! I want to get better at them for myself and my friends, so I'm binging all your videos to try and understand as much as possible before I buy a simple kit.
Tbh I live for her videos. They are so relaxing and informative! Her voice is more relaxing than David Attenborough's xD
I’ve had the first drill she reviewed for over a year and I love that thing. I use it every week on myself when I do my nails!!
Can You please let me know what is the name of that particular one. It had the best review bugt the box just says Electric Drill.

@@Meghann_Brady my wife has the same...still going strong after 3 years.
4 years later and the drill is just as good as the day I bought it!!
You’re reaction for the last one honestly had me in tears laughing!! “Oh the poor thing.” 😂😂 oh dear
Do you have to have a licence to get a real professional nail file? Maybe Susie should come out with a drill that works best that we can get!
Exactly
Carlita Bonita in the U.S. you used to need a license for a professional drill but you don't anymore
THE READ QUEEN oh really? Where can I purchase a good nail file? Do you know a name of a good one?
Carlita Bonita I see a ton of high end nail salons using Mani Pro Passport cordless. Now it's kinda pricey, but it's so worth it. There is another one that is a cheaper version of the Mani Pro Passport. It's by Makartt JD855. It's $53.28 on eBay. I use this one when I'm doing a repair on my own acrylic nails or practicing on my mannequin hand. It's pretty good for the price.
THE READ QUEEN thank you love!
so i ask my hubby to get me one of those from amazon n he was like “why do you want to buy new one, i got heaps of them in storage”
then i realize he was talking about his mini drill for his electronic class 😑
A Andini 🤣🤣🤣he not try'na spend money
It's the same thing tho tbh. Just get some bits and keep it moving.
I read that as ‘electronic glasses’ instead of class 😂
LMFAO! You kno what I just recently learned? I learned that the reason you're not supposed to use power tool drills on ur nails is cuz they use pre-set variable speeds and that's not really good when you're trying to use them on lil fingers :)
@@AtypicalPsyche i have seen some people do that
Loved this video, Suzie! Can you do a video on Gels and Acrylics that you can buy without a license and review those as well?
Thank you Suzie I was going cross eyed trying to figure out what file to purchase. The Makartt JD700 is now on my Amazon wish list.
Just bought the 1st one from Makartt today. I have the Belle drill and that's why I was looking for a different one. It's pretty but is way too fast when I'm trying to smooth the top of the nail. Works great for shaping and debulking acrylic though.
Nicole Nikki B i agree, i have one under a different name. i like it but i need to remove shine with a nail file rather than this drill
Suzie is me trying not to offend anyone and giving companies the benefit of the doubt like “oh it might just be mine”. I can relate so hard
I just bought the Makartt drill and i love it!! I was nervous watching this but it seems to be the best product you reviewed.
I was watching this and I bought the last drill you tested, before I checked your channel. It is hard to use. I have bought a new one with built in fan and light at 30,000 RPM. I really appreciate your videos. I have learned a lot. Thanks Suzie.
Well now it's confirmed my drill is crap lol (I have the last one),now I have an excuse to get a better one 😉😋. Thank you Suzie!
Oh im sorry- but its hard to know whats best when you dont know - thats what im here for
@@NailCareerEducation o I know! But at least I've learned what's the "better" of the cheaper brands 😊
@Nail Career Education, I'm curious and looking forward to working with an e-file. I don't want to waste money purchasing an e-file I'll end up hating... what e-file are you using and can you introduce it to us?
@@NailCareerEducation what is the one that you use or recommend?
I have the same one 🙈🤣
I am super new with doing my nails at home, so your reviews are so incredible helpful! I been recently watching your videos and have learned much. So thank you so much Susie! I just want to say that you are a very beautiful woman and the sweater you're wearing is to die for. I'm a big sweater lover and the softer the sweater, the greater the love. Thanks again!!
This was so informative, thank you! I'm not a nail tech, but your videos are so good...great to know the "right way" 😍 ps: I'm addicted to your manicure videos... LOVE your personality!!
Inexpensive e-file - Suzie: "This one was $50."
Me looking at the $17 one in my wishlist.... :(
Perhaps I should save up for something much better and practice hand filing in the meantime.
Well if you're just doing your own nails, there's nothing wrong with starting off with an inexpensive model with less bells and whistles to see if it's something you'll get use out of!

Cassie Jean I hope you love it! Sometimes school can get you down. Just remember how much fun Suzie has had all these years, and keep going!
Oh my goodness- yes! Its coming along with a surprise- give me a few weeks -
A 200 or a 240 is used for light sanding and buffing.
Note: never use a 100 on natural nails, it is too coarse.
hi suzie & cameraman! ive been subscribed for several months now and refer anyone who asks me about my nails (have been doing them over a year with gel at home!) to your channel! i also wanted to let you know you got me to change up my nail routine pretty drastically. i've added an apex for more structure, against my earlier reservations, and i'm actually in love with how strong they feel, now that i've worn my nails long for so long! idk, i've just picked up so many little tips from y'all, and even changed my mind about two things i absolutely despised before- apexes and acrylic! while i'm still wary about acrylic because of the lack of bend that you get with gel, I'm REALLY excited to work with polygel instead!! thank you so much for showing us all these things, you really are the sweet teachermom of the YT nail community
I have the same Belle one. Just ordered the first one she showed from Makartt because mine is too fast to start
I got a kupa for $130 on ebay (older version) and i love it! Had it for 4years now.
Ty for any input ❤
I'm curious about the differences in control with how speed is adjusted between different machines ....
Definitely could use an update from this pro channel!
*bless Suzie's heart for volunteering ruining one of her nail for us*
Thanks for the review. I've had the Makkart for about a year and love it! I did buy ceramic tips separately.

Thanks for doing this video, because of it I have purchased and received my JD700 e-drill and it was the best decision I have ever made regarding a good quality product, concerning manicure & pedicure.
That's horrible!!! Sorry to hear that 😱😫
Good grief. Sounds traumatizing. Sorry you experienced that. This is why I'm afraid to sit with a tech, you never truly know who is good and cares about nail health
It was horrible. I wish I could post pics here so you could see.

Next video could you try finding inexpensive acrylics that you do not need to have a license for and is quite good quality
Define inexpensive. Everyone's budget is different. Plus, some times the cheaper ones can be dangerous because the chemicals can cause chemical burns and possible deterioration of your nails. The expensive ones are priced for a reason for the sake of the brand and quality.

This is one of the best reviews I have ever seen. Detailed, informative and to-the-point. I was JUST getting ready to purchase the cheaper option and I'm glad I didn't.
