So, I've watched the end of the video now, and listened to Liz's rant of the day. I fricking love you!!! Thank you! I want clear and accurate information, including the negatives, so that I can make an informed decision. Then the outcome of that decision lies squarely on me. I'm an adult. I will be accountable for my decisions and I will take responsibility for them. Am I currently growing out a damaged toenail from incorrect efiling? Yes, which is why I haven't used the efile since and is also why I'm watching this video now. I've watched lots of others, but I wanted to learn the differences between the bits. I shall now practice on myself, and eggshells (viewer suggestion below) before I unleash my skills on anyone else. A million times, thank you. Xxx
We’ve all done that so welcome to the “I’m learning and accidentally overfiled my nail” club! I completely agree with you. Let people learn so they can make their own educated choice! ✊ keep practicing. It definitely gets easier with time.
Why did this comment make me wanna cry!!! I love love LOVE finding info that empowers me to try techniques that I’m scared of due to my lack of knowledge. And I hate not knowing where to start when trying to educate myself ! Nothing better than having an a-ha moment and realising you truly understand something. Takes away the guess work and stops the venture from feeling so overwhelming!! I also love being able to use past mistakes to guide new practice ! I already use the skinny cylinder bit to remove dead tissue from the nail plate but have been too scared to delve right into the world of Russian manicures (despite really really wanting to). I’ve now got a much better understanding, have ordered my bits and am so so excited to get practicing! Good luck to you Carol, I know just from your comment that you will do great once you get the hang of it!
@@NikstaaSpyrouu thank you so much!! I've found it helps to go really slowly, with low revolutions, to become familiar with how the e file feels. In getting there!! Good luck to you too. Xx
I have done the same. I am currently growing out damaged nails from over filing. Talk about a lesson learned, but would've loved to know what bits are for what before I started playing with them, the proper speeds, etc. Now I know and can practice better with the newly found knowledge! I'm so glad I found her channel!
I've done much damage to myself with efiling xD But that doesn't mean I'm just gonna stop learning, right? Currently I'm far away from even trying things on other people, so I'm my only victim and I say it's worth it. And I need all the information I can get, because I really like this technique (I was able to do the most perfect nails on myself EVER), but I'm struggling and not doing it right. Love the rant and agree wholeheartedly ^^ ♥
this tutorial changed my life, seriously. I've ALWAYS had overgrown cuticles, which turned into hangnails and a hack job after taking a nipper to them. after watching this, I carefully took my drill (I'm a glass engraver) and cleaned them out. I'm not exaggerating when I say that my cuticles have NEVER looked better! now I'm going on Day 3 (which is a long time for me) of "so fresh and so clean" cuticles and I'm absolutely amazed! THANK YOU x 1000 for so freely sharing your knowledge!
I think I just found the answer to my question! My eponychium grow really long, up to a 1/16th of an inch if I let it, and I always push them back and cut them off then end up with hangnails all over the place. I will soon be a licensed LMT and I cannot have damaged skin on my hands!! I don't care what this costs, I'm buying one pronto!! Thank you and thanks to Angie as well for her comment... sounded like we have the same issue :)
The Nail Hub may I ask the drill you use? Would love a home drill (I am not a technician), but I would like this type of bit included. Thanks for any suggestions!
Good practice for pressure control on the natural nail is using eggs and making sure you don't crack them before you practice on anyone. Edit: Hardboil the egg first to avoid a mess!
I want to thank you for teaching us how to do nails and sanitize properly. Because of your video's I now have the knowledge of what the salons in my area should be doing. I was going to the best-rated salon in my small town. I always thought they were clean and doing everything properly. They even have the autoclave there in the front of the salon where you can see it. But I have since figured out it is a prop more than anything. I have been paying very close attention and noticed that the exact same basket with the same tools was sitting in the autoclave week after week and never moving. The door on it stays cracked open where you can see what is inside and it sits within 5 feet of one of the busiest stations in the salon. It is possible that it's an old one that they just leave spare pieces in and they have another one in the back. But I also began to notice that the sanding bands being used were not always clean, the other bits they would pull out of a bit hold or loose inside their drawer. The hand files and buffers were used as well. Nippers and other tools were being pulled in and out of their drawer or cabinet. Nothing was clean and unused unless you were the 1st customer of the day and then I am still not so sure it was all clean. I did find one salon that does new and clean tools for pedicures, but not for fingernails. I was both thankful and horrified at the same time. The closest salon that I have found that uses clean bits, tools and new files on each client is about 1 1/2 hours from my home. And I live in a more rural area so that is about 80+ miles. I also have very thin nail beds that are very easy to damage and I am extremely sensitive to the vibration from an e-file. So out of necessity, I have had to start doing my own nails. And it is the best decision I have ever made. My natural nails are no longer damaged, even though I still wear acrylics, polygel, builder gel, etc. I also don't have issues with vibration since apparently, my e-file is of higher quality than any salon I have ever been to. I say thank you for educating us. And as a bonus, I have found I am pretty good at nail art so my nails look the best they have ever looked. Thank you again!
Knowledge is power, and the information you give is truly appreciated. The beauty industry as a whole has always had curtains tightly placed around it. Kudos to you, Celina, and Suzie and all the others that share amazing information. It makes all of us better professionals, and DIYers learn how to do it properly. ❤❤❤💅
I won’t waste your time on repeating all said below. We need more people like you in our society! Awesome educational video and style. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
I just want to say I appreciated the rant at the end of the video so much. I'm not even big on nails (was watching this to learn how to do this on my own nails at home) but I was really happy to hear you share your philosophy on knowledge and empowering people to make informed decisions instead of withholding information due to fear.
Omg you nailed it! Accountability. Tools don’t hurt people, people hurt people. So few are recognizing this basic truth nowadays! Thank you for yet another awesome video!
You said the magic words my dear, "Information, Education, Accountability, Responsibility." You've got yourself a new subscriber too, and thank you very much for sharing your time, your effort and your knowledge.
Thank you so much for all this e file education. I’m from Michigan, and we don’t get this kind of education here. I have been using an e file for several years to remove gel polish. I felt like I had to learn to preserve my wrists, and fingers. I’ve been shy to try any other bits. I have not used other specialty bits because I have not felt educated. When I take pictures of my work the cuticle area never looks perfect like photographs in nail magazine, or instagram. I have realized this is because theirs are e filed. I’m going to buy the bits and learn. I’m 57 yrs old, and I watch a lot of u tube nail tutorials. I learn, and try a lot of things that I would have never known about. I really appreciate the time , and effort that you, and Suzi put into your videos. You both make me a better nail tech. Thank you very much. Sue., Classic Hair Design.
Rant or not, your philosophy is right on! It’s so refreshing to hear a young person talk about responsibility, instead of a pity party for oneself! Keep it up Liz! Sue
Excellent tutorial! You are right. In Brazil, we remove the cuticle every week before gel, and we still do this with regular nail polish. I have never had any problem with it. Here in Canada, I started to do my nails because I didn't enjoy the way they did it. You are great at teaching us how to do it well. Thank you so much. ❤
Your a great teacher and very spot on so if they follow your instructions they won't hurt themselves. I see nothing wrong with showing beginners how to properly prep the nails with an e file. Information is highly important. If they don't follow your instructions that's on them. I 💯 agree with you.
Thank you for this. As a cosmo/lash tech, I am just getting into the skill of nails. I appreciate your tech/teaching skills, and for you giving accountability back to me. In the 1950’s car owner manuals showed how to adjust valves. Now they tell you not to put fluids in the wrong hole. Oy!
You have no idea how helpful this video was. I have such a problem with cuticles that were seriously ruining my life. No matter how careful I was the paint on the cuticles looked just terrible. I love the lady who does my nails. She is very sweet and kind but unfortunately language is difficult for us. I have suppressed immunity and get infections at the drop of a hat in spite of how careful I am. Now, with the virus I am totally on my own to figure this out for the foreseeable future. I love how you don't dumb this down, it shows respect for your audience. People do better when they know why they are doing or not doing something. You are amazing. Of course, in time, I will go back to the salon, but this foundational knowledge will make me a better client.
How refreshing to hear a young person so courageously stand up for the principle of accountability. Bravo! I've been a cosmetologist for 30 years. Thank goodness for e-filing!! I do nails on women of all ages and when you consider the sensitivity of those with arthritis and the delicate skin of my 90 plus year olds, an e- file is the only way to take care of anyone's cuticle needs. -Don't need to clamp down on their tender joints in order to use a standard sanding file, and on skin that's as delicate as flower petals there is nothing better than an e-file with a polishing bit. It's all you need in that tiny, specific area. In my experience an e-file is not only more comfortable for everyone it is safer. Let me say that again,..e-filing is safer for cuticle and pedicure work!! These videos are great education! Nail techs be brave and try this technique, and never slice a cuticle open again with a ginormous hand file that is covered in sand and will never be as controlled as an e-file bit! Right!?
Thanks for sharing and educating. I’m not a nail tech just do my own nails and you are my go to. I know i will be safe with you Liz thanks. Keep doing what you do. It’s appreciated by all who are accountable , responsible and mature
Recently started doing dip on myself and purchased an efile with the intention of using it to remove the top coat before soaking off. My first experience was uneducated and scary and I put it away, then decided to rip the dip off and destroyed my nails. Back to the e-file, this time with education. I watched your video prior to trying the e-file for cuticle prep for the first time tonight and I'm absolutely OBSESSED! I actually irritated my hands LESS using the e-file than cuticle nippers. No blood irritation or redness and my nails look great. Thank you for the informative, down to earth, and not-too-much-filler video. Agree what you said about accountability 💯. Thank you!!
Liz you are AMAZING!! Knowledge is power! I have never seen an educator so responsible so kind, so informative and so empowering. In the beauty industry, we have to take ownership of our work. This is across the board. We must think every time we do a service that we are leaving a business card with our client. That service is our business card. It is the best form of revenue you can get. Liz, you are one in a million!
I started watching you religiously after seeing you on Suzy’s channel (Nail Career Education) and I have to thank you as you are an amazing teacher and I have learned more from you in the last few months, than I’ve learned for the 6 ,or so, years that I’ve been watching nail videos! For the first time, I was able to file off the colour gel portion of my nail without disrupting the base layer, this was all thanks to the video you posted a few weeks ago! You actually gave me the know-how, which gave me the confidence that I needed. Thank you so much for your amazing content Liz 😘🇨🇦
It is important to put this information on RUclips and educate people on a product that anyone can purchase without being educated on how to use it. Thank You for making videos like this for the safety of us all that have an interest in DIY e-filing manicures.
I appreciate your emphasis on sanitising. When I was training years ago, it horrified me how sometimes even expensive ‘top end’ salons ignored basic cleanliness and did not scrub , never mind disinfect tools between clients. I’m so impressed. Good on you!
I’m so thankful for your teaching because I’m working in a Beauty Store and it’s high season here. My boss has not the time to show me right now but she needs help and because of your teaching I am able to do a good job, poco a poco and being secure of what I learned. She’s already happy with the result and resonance of the clients. From 0 knowledge to 85% in such a short time! 🎉☺️And I love doing nails! Just going into that new profession makes me so fulfilled and happy! Detailista and artista comes together here…😀Thumbs up for your free clases! A big thank you from all of us!😘👌
Thank you for the details and education, so appreciate you. I have recently started wearing glue on nails and after few sets realized that the cuticle prep is everything. My press on/glue on nails are lasting now for 3-4 weeks with only couple repairs(occasional popped nail) I purchased recently inexpensive e file to help me do a better nail and cuticle prep and so very thankful you covered & educated us on all the drill bits. Can’t wait to use this e file and your techniques. Thank you 😊
You have wonderful tips for professional and non-professional people who are interested in doing nails in or out of salon . I appreciate that. You seem to hit and include all finger types so well done.
Wow!! I decided to take up the hobby of doing my nails in quarantine and I’m so thankful I found this. I never take care of my cuticles and always get hurt at nail salons I’m so happy to find proper technique and cleaning ❤️
You are a good teacher for nails, you talk clearly and get the job done. Thank you! Some people talk bad because they feel bad and want people to feel like them. Sad but real. Just keep teaching because I need to learn. Thank you again!
Thank you, Liz for all the detailed information. I do my own nails at home, and I've really learned a lot about bits and other "nail tech secrets" from you. I have several bits that I had no idea what they were for. I used to have my nails done, but after some disastrous fungal infections and nail plates that were chewed down to my bleeding flesh by techs aggressively using bits, I had to give up on salons. I'm not great at it yet, but with your and Suzi's advice, I'm getting better and better! Your videos are the best!
Liz, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I am a DIYer and have been doing my own gel nails for the last 9 years. I really appreciate all the information you have been sharing and the do’s and don’ts in each of these videos of this series. I also believe knowledge is power and can only wish I had this information back when I started. I would have saved myself, time, energy, and pain. I have also appreciated the immense forethought that has gone into the order of your video’s as well as the layout of each video. You truly are a gift to those of us who wish to learn more about gel nails and nail care. Thank you so very much.
Amazing video! Im just a few days away from graduating nail college and some of the videos i see are such garbage. Love that you know what you are talking about and at sharing amazing knowledge! Thank you
I believe a machine manicure lengthens your career! There are certain folk/individuals who benefit from "debunking" the validity of this style of working. It's the most effective before applying any coating because it's dry and highly efficient! It's lit 🔥!
Wow! What an incredibly informative and educational video! I’ve recently transitioned to using an e-file for my personal home manicures and I’ve made more mistakes than I care to admit because I simply was not educated enough to perform the technique properly in order not to damage my nails. Thankfully it wasn’t anything that couldn’t be reversed with a little time, care and more education. I am so very grateful to you for sharing this extensive and detailed information! It has helped me to be more aware of what I’m actually doing to the nail bed as I work and how to use my e-file safety and effectively. Thank you so much!!
Thanks for this I bought one and did my mother’s feet and hands she’s away home with gorgeous nails feeling and looking great.,so very lovely of you to help our lives improve I’m disabled and mum is to thanks again
Finally a video that actually explains using the e-file on cuticle area from which bit to speed to technique up close so we can see‼️‼️ So many videos show the bit and give an abbreviated explanation of technique.... Thank You🙏🏻
Thank you for explaining the process. You couldn't have been anymore precise & clearly correct about each &- everything that you shared here on this video. I feel as if you are a great educator Especially for our young generation. I appreciate your sharing great informed information. Explaing the importance of accepting responsibility for our own individual actions. I respect you a great deal, for speaking the truth. Thank you for educating anyone who watches your videos on how to use the efile on the delicate cuticle area. Education is where it all begins. Thanks again God bless
I came here after certification from basic to pro nail art class for more info because I loveee efile so much. Im that one person loved to spenx a whole day just to get my nails done i think theres people like me outhere and efile is made for me🥺. First i always feel horror to see cuticules and stressed to time we need to removed it. Not anymore❤ efile is my bestie as a nail artist Liz thankyou so much to make such aaaa completeee detail and clear informatie educative video🥺🥰🥰🥰
Thank you for this video. I have recently qualified through a training academy on using an e file, and I have found this useful to refresh my memory as a beginner.
I stumbled upon your video when I googled- “Russian manicure”- then I saw your Jereth tee and your ludo figurine! My FAVORITE MOVIE EVER! Instant subscriber here from a fellow Labyrinth fan!!! 🎉❤
To the nay-sayers 33:31, i think people are already just buying efiles off Amazon or Temu and doing it anyway, so Liz is correct that its all about getting information out there. This video has probably prevented many injuries and cuticle cuts from carbide bits, high speeds, too much pressure...and from other misuses. Thank you for this information, Liz @TheNailHub for this information. The access to efiles is already here. It's the access to information that Liz gives for the good of humankind. ❤
I love this. I appreciate your attitude. I will not go to a salon, I only do my nails at home, but my cuticles are always neglected.( I use a chain saw and a Dremel -like efile but LARGER). More information is better. I always receive compiments on my hands, but I will be improving this aspect. I love being independent. I think I fall into the delicate category......and MY name is Liz.
Your videos are awesome I have learned so much from them. A lot of things that I didn't understand before have now been made clear. So thank you Liz for all your hard work, you are very professional, you speak clearly and obviously have a great deal of Knowledge. I have come across some people unwilling to share things that would clear up confusion or make things go faster even when you are paying them to do so. Again thank you for your willingness to share you expertise, I applaud you for your unselfish attitude. I'm a fan
BEST BEST BEST video , especially for beginners, I can understand which bits to buys and what they do and how to safely use them A lot of salons need this, information. They burn nail plates off because they dont understand how to use the efiile. They use efile bits the wrong way
I am just a home nail girl (not a pro) and really enjoyed the technical jargon and found this extremely easy to follow and will be doing this from now on. Thank you for this tutorial
I always come back and rewatch this video, I learned a lot thank you so much Ms. Liz, you don’t know how much your helping just like me who is new in this e file manicure. More power to you and your team I’m greatly grateful for all the tutorials you posted here in your channel. Your the best outside in the market giving helpful informations for us to absorb and do something out of it for better service for future clients. Thank you so much.
I got a table stand lighted magnifying glass for doing my nail powder. I was gifted a Morpilot nail drill. None of the bits you used were in the drill bit kit. I have now ordered the correct cuticle bits and hoping to do a better job. I am pretty good with my application, but now with your instruction I can do a better job on my cuticles! Thank you for all the information!
I have really improved on my e-filing and lots of other areas since watching your videos and that is what my customers say 😆. Thank you 🌻so much for sharing your knowledge. It really means so much 🤗
OK so I am a total amateur, I am currently trying to get the hang of gel nails at home (on myself of course), and i could not FOR THE WORLD get my nails buffed and cuticles removed as well as i needed! so i had my hubby buy me an e-file for Christmas. GAME CHANGER! SO AWESOME! i used common sense with it, not pushing too hard etc etc.... i guess i have to mention that i'm from Europe, and had no idea e-files were so scary for people in the US? anyway, your tutorials are the best, and those nails in this video!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
I appreciate the time, effort, and thoughtfulness that you put into your videos. You can tell that you put a lot of effort and responsibility in provide correct information to your audience. Thank you! I really appreciate all of your videos, they are so extremely helpful!! 😊💕
Oh yes! Information, educational, and personal responsibility: I agree 100% with EVERYTHING you’ve said. Your “rant” was actually good old fashioned common sense IMHO. By giving us diy-at-home-want-to-get-it-right non professionals the correct professional information we need so that we don’t damage our nails and skin. Thank you SO much, you’re a fantastic communicator.
Couldn't be more grateful for the information you provide us with each and every time Liz!❤Our industry could evolve into something even more amazing if everyone had the same way of thinking as you regarding sharing the tips and tricks you might have found out or learned during your career! To beginners, and even professionals,is a GREAT help since we never stop learning, there will always be things we haven't heard of,or we didn't know etc. Helping each other out is so essential and we're really thankful for what you're doing!Keep up this amazing work! Can't wait for the continuation❤
Oh my gosh, I stopped going to the nail salon altogether because every.single.time my fingers would be cut and bleeding near the cuticle. I had no idea why it kept happening so I gave up. I also have that smooth transition from finger to nail plate so I can now see how it could take care to not cut them but still won't be going back to salons who don't take that time. I've seriously left salons with multiple fingers wrapped in bandaids and bruised long after they healed. Now I know what to do on myself! Thank you for the depth of information this info!
💯 There are so many videos out here, You are putting content into this space to balance the scales of safety and knowledge vs reckless action due to a lack of knowledge. People are going to try things, if you can guide them on how to be safe while doing what they're doing? You're enriching this space. So thank you for being here!
This helped out so much because there are so many cuticle bits out there. I also have cuticles just like YOU DO. I'm soooo glad you are going to do a full applications form start to finish and how to use ALL the RIGHT BITS. I feel this information is so needed in this industry, we need to keep our clients and ourselves SAFE. I have seen so many videos where bits are not being used properly. TFS
I agree with you 100% , I've been using my efile with the diamond bits that came with it on my nail plate and cuticles forever! Never had an issue with it. My nails don't split, my cuticles don't bleed... All that stuff I hear will happen doesn't. But, if you're not comfortable with it, don't do it. Simple.
I love these videos. I.m Addicted Took nail tech course many many moons ago. about 20 years I actually taught my self. Practiced in friends. I was really good by the time I took the course. Better at all the demos than my instructor. I only do mine n my mom now. Not working as a nail tech. But I still love it and enjoy it a lot Thanks for great videos
Thumbs up for this great video with those very helpful explanations! As a German I can't understand this fear of e-filing. It's completely normal in Germany. Even in private space people are doing their mani with an e-file. No worries about that. And believe me, they all still have their ten fingers ☺️.
Lol love seeing comments from other Germans! My Mom immigrated to the U.S. in the 60’s yet our family stayed there. I’ve never been there yet to meet them ...I’m so desperately wanting to go someday. Hugs from CA 💜✝️
Oh my goodness this video was gold thanks so much I’m in school and I didn’t feel comfortable working on cuticles but now I do thanks so much! I appreciate you! May God bless you!
Girl I have been trying my best to learn how to do my own nails properly since Covid and this video quite literally saved my nail beds. When I first started, I watched a ton of videos on how to do dip nails and when I got my kit I just went right in, messed up, and started over. And over. And over. My nail beds got so paper thin snd it hurt to even do a light buff, yet I still had lifting. This saved me! I had no idea how to use all the diamond bits I have and you just made it so simple. Thanks for posting these super informative videos!!!!
I bought an e file before watching this video. My nails have been a mess for a year. After doing a little research and reading reviews I got a rechargeable one that can rotate and has less heat for under $60 bucks. I had so many hangnails from cutting my cuticles. I even get them when I go to the salon. thanks for the tip about using oil daily. I do dishes often like 2 or 3x a day no gloves. I think e filing the cuticles is the way to go. The skin above my nails looks like my fingers are wearing one of those straw skirts I see in Hawaii. I think people are afraid that you are giving away too many secrets. We still in a pandemic more than a year after you uploaded this video. People are doing their own nails at home more and more. You are actually preventing mistakes. I will only use carbine on my feet.
I wish I could like this video more than once. So good. I am not a nail tech but I've been thinking about doing my own nails at home. I thought it would be much more efficient to use an efile but I've been extremely paranoid that I would damage my nails. I've learned so much from your videos I feel confident that I could get started using an efile (with caution. Don't worry, I will take your advice and go slow! No teethy bits on natural nail!) I whole-heartedly agree that people have forgotten about accountability! So many tools are dangerous if used in the wrong hands. I was thinking "cars" before you said it! Also, your nails are exquisite! They look like fancy bakery confections! I appreciate your videos. They are so informative! Thank you for putting yourself out there 🤗
If you want to know the proper way follow Liz / The Nail Hub! You are my go to for instructions and proper procedures. Thank you for your knowledge and willingness to teach.❤️
Absolutely right about education, I appreciate you giving people the knowledge, and we should all be accountable if we don’t use the information correctly. You are very responsible in telling everyone the plus and minus in everything. Your amazing videos have enabled me to start doing my own nails and document the journey on RUclips. Thanks so much for the education and inspiration.
The last part of the video...that's was soooo impressive Liz. I want to send you loads of hugs for telling the facts about our liability. And thanks for the appreciation the power of information. Unfortunately not every education could give us every single perspective of the application. And sometimes especially for the experienced techs, our educations become soo outdated with the new technologies, new products and new techniques. We all need update ourselves and our knowledge. Thanks for the great words 💯❤💯❤💯❤
I am so happy that I crossed path with your video. It was awesome! Very well done Tutorial. Info = 10, didactic = 10, material = 10, explanation = 10, presentation = 10, rant on the end = 10+. Thank you!
Information, education, accountability, responsibility. WOW crystal clear, great information. I love your videos 😍 Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Great Vid. I have been trained in efile manicure and removal for years. However, backed away from the manicure protocol until recently. I think some people have to learn in stages and get comfortable with things. I think I am one of those. Been doing removal of product for ages. Now am ready to incorporate efile manicure. This was a great refresher for me. Thank you :-)
Okay. I followed your guidance to the letter and did my first "Russian" mani the other day. Oh.my.God. This is a game-changer! I used to get "hangnails" that were controlled by me taking biotin along with moisturizers and nail care (especially incidental filing secondary to overlays). I've since developed both a hypothyroid disorder as well as new onset diabetes. My hangnails, skin, scalp and hair have been pathetically dry despite exfoliating, hydration and moisturizing. Now that my thyroid and diabetes are regulated, the biotin has stopped helping the hangnail problem. I've always avoided cutting around my fingers and avoided liquid cuticle removers (Blue Cross) since I've always needed some kind of overlay (started doing my own nails over 35 years ago with acrylic, over the years changing from that to silk wraps and lighter acrylic, then gel). I used to use an older cuticle control product that was a gel moisturizer with pumice in it that I would use a few times a week, then wash off. The manufacturer stopped making it (circa 1995), so I've experimented with nipping, etc... but now with the illnesses and diabetes, any kind of cutting must be avoided. This method is so awesome and you do a fabulous job educating. I wish so much that I had someone as wonderful as you are, but having had probably hundreds of nail professionals in various states over the years, people like you are extremely rare. I wound up doing my own nails when I was younger due to financial reasons, but continued doing them, refining my methods over the years second only to not being able to find dedicated professionals like yourself. In the end, I continue to do my own nails because I cannot get the high quality service I need from nail professionals. Along with my medical issues, I have "ski jump" nails, one broken finger that takes this to an extreme as well as 4 nails that refuse to grow straight (and curl/wave), a thumb which is an extreme example. In short: I am a problem child with specialty issues that most nail professionals would rather not have to deal with or don't know how to mitigate my problems quickly. I worry as I get older that I won't be able to do these services for myself, but as long as I can, I will. Having very short strangely-shaped triangular nail beds, my nails need a touch-up at corners of the growth area after as little as a week sometimes. Being able to do this for myself has been pivotal. 🎻 Watching a true professional like yourself has helped me learn so much that I'd considered a third career! To that end, due to my carpal tunnel, that won't happen, don't worry. 😭😂 Anyway, I've been watching all your videos from oldest to newest. I appreciate all that you are willing to share and I am now a huge fan! ❤️ I wish you and yours Happy Holidays and a very Happy New Year! 🙏🏻🎄🎊🎉🥂 💅🏻
I’m a dentist and we use the same kind of carbide and diamond burs to adjust dentures and crowns. So I’m already familiar with the machines which I think should help as I navigate how to do nails. Love your content!
Thank you very much for this video Liz. I am a perfectionist and have not been satisfied with my cuticles and sidewalls. I have been using hand files and tools. I had to give up using cuticle remover because it was damaging the nail plates and lifting the products. I have been thinking of using my nail drill to prep them, and decided to look for appropriate instructional videos. Yours fits the bill nicely. So thank you once again. Please keep up the good work. Your videos are much appreciated.
I appreciate ALL of the information you provided, I feel more confident in using an efile. I’m seeing other vids online that are very vague. Thank you!
Thank you for putting out this information. I've only ever had my cuticles efiled by my nail techs and had no idea this could be dangerous. I like your approach- to give the information and also the warnings.

Thank you
@kolika95 thank you
this tutorial changed my life, seriously.
That is so awesome and makes me very happy to hear it. :)
The Nail Hub so sorry! I didn’t think it was in the list above it it looks like it is! Yay! (On a phone which isn’t the best layout)!
I just cut my cuticles for the first time I thought I did a good job because I didn't cut myself the next day omg I've never seen so many hang nails
Good practice for pressure control on the natural nail is using eggs and making sure you don't crack them before you practice on anyone.
Edit: Hardboil the egg first to avoid a mess!
My e-file is coming tomorrow; can't wait to try this cool trick. Thanks!!!
My e-file is coming tomorrow; can't wait to try this cool trick. Thanks!!!
That is an awesome tip. I'll be using that trick next week once my e file arrives. 👍👍thank you!!!
Wow I'm trying this tonight
I should probably mention to hardboil the egg first
I want to thank you for teaching us how to do nails and sanitize properly.
Nice to hear that ,god decision ,it a pleasure to do nails !!
Claudia Oprea indeed!!! Stories such as this one are inspiring!
What an awesome story! Thank you for sharing!
Nailed By Chance what efile are you using?
Knowledge is power, and the information you give is truly appreciated. The beauty industry as a whole has always had curtains tightly placed around it. Kudos to you, Celina, and Suzie and all the others that share amazing information. It makes all of us better professionals, and DIYers learn how to do it properly. ❤❤❤💅
Exactly, I couldn't have put it better myself! A lot of techs act like they are in a secret society 🙄
What channel is Celina’s?

Exactly my thoughts, thank you so much for putting them out 😘
I won’t waste your time on repeating all said below.

😂 I love how you went Fire Marshall Bill on us. 'Let me show ya somethin" proceeds to file your own skin. Seriously admire the dedication to teaching.
😂😂😂
Excellent tutorial! You are right. In Brazil, we remove the cuticle every week before gel, and we still do this with regular nail polish. I have never had any problem with it. Here in Canada, I started to do my nails because I didn't enjoy the way they did it. You are great at teaching us how to do it well. Thank you so much. ❤
I also love how close up you get in your videos!! I really appreciate that because I can really see the difference in the bits and what you're doing.
Right!?
I've gotten more cuts on my skin around my nails from techs using hand files on me than from e-files. I hear you!
This video is timeless and perfect information for actually everyone that works on nails no matter how long the have been doing nails .
I recently purchased the Beurer Nail Pro Premium Manicure/Pedicure Kit. I'm 77 yrs young, so need all the great tips you can share. Thanks, Carlotta
Thank you
😊
Your logic towards the end of the video was refreshing to hear. Experienced information has never hurt anyone.
You have wonderful tips for professional and non-professional people who are interested in doing nails in or out of salon . I appreciate that. You seem to hit and include all finger types so well done.
This video answered questions I didn’t even know to ask. I learned more watching this than every other video combined! 🎉
You are a born teacher!! Love watching your vids, it sometimes just refresh ones memory easy to forget small things! 🤗💞💅🏼
It's lit 🔥!
When I want reliable information, I always look for it on your channel. Thank you Liz! You're a treasure!
Wow thank you very much , I’m an E-file beginner... and this is very helping 🤞🏾
Thanks again
God bless
I came here after certification from basic to pro nail art class for more info because I loveee efile so much. Im that one person loved to spenx a whole day just to get my nails done i think theres people like me outhere and efile is made for me🥺. First i always feel horror to see cuticules and stressed to time we need to removed it. Not anymore❤ efile is my bestie as a nail artist
Liz thankyou so much to make such aaaa completeee detail and clear informatie educative video🥺🥰🥰🥰
Efisiening time to get perfect cuticule remove for nail prep
Thank you for this video. I have recently qualified through a training academy on using an e file, and I have found this useful to refresh my memory as a beginner.
That's the 1st helpful video I found on the topic! Thank you so much!
Love your T-shirt! Labyrinth was my favorite movie!
Mine too!
Liz if this were church, you'd be my pastor. PREACH THAT NAIL PRO GOSPEL FOR DEM KIDS IN DA BACK! 🤣
i’m dead 😂💀
I stumbled upon your video when I googled- “Russian manicure”- then I saw your Jereth tee and your ludo figurine! My FAVORITE MOVIE EVER! Instant subscriber here from a fellow Labyrinth fan!!! 🎉❤
You are my go to for all things nails! Love how thorough and patiently you explain everything for a home nail enthusiast like me 😊
To the nay-sayers 33:31, i think people are already just buying efiles off Amazon or Temu and doing it anyway, so Liz is correct that its all about getting information out there.
I'm a fan
Wow! Clear, thorough and professionally delivered education! Thank you for sharing, I look forward to watching more of you.
I’ve learned more from you in this video than school!
It's so sad to say this but this is one of the most common comments I get. :( Nail schools really need to do better.
I'm a beginner like a fresh fresh beginner,i watch all of your video's they are so so helpfull thank you💪
Thank you for teaching us and helping us , Liz! You are amazing! Sending love and hugs! ♥️
TFS
As a beginner, I really really appreciate your channel. You are an amazing and intelligent and calm teacher. Thank you so much from Australia 🇦🇺.
Thank you Liz, 😊 For the informative and professionalism of your videos. You are a credit to the nail industry. Looking forward to your next video.
You are so meticulous and such a great teacher! I have just started doing my own nails and your videos are helping so much, thank you.
Simple.
Great video and tips, thank you! I love how real you are, not editing that cough scene shows that imperfection is perfection.
You are an amazing teacher!! Thank you for this video! Bravo!!
I love these videos. I.m Addicted Took nail tech course many many moons ago. about 20 years I actually taught my self. Practiced in friends. I was really good by the time I took the course. Better at all the demos than my instructor. I only do mine n my mom now. Not working as a nail tech. But I still love it and enjoy it a lot
Thanks for great videos
Thumbs up for this great video with those very helpful explanations! As a German I can't understand this fear of e-filing. It's completely normal in Germany. Even in private space people are doing their mani with an e-file. No worries about that. And believe me, they all still have their ten fingers ☺️.
Germans are characteristically perfectionists I think :) .
Lol love seeing comments from other Germans! My Mom immigrated to the U.S. in the 60’s yet our family stayed there. I’ve never been there yet to meet them ...I’m so desperately wanting to go someday. Hugs from CA 💜✝️
Thanks so much Liz, I have diamond bit
i was never taught to use, but now I will be using them...
How do I give more than one thumbs up?????? Love love love the rant! Great info, and super in-depth!
Thank you for putting yourself out there 🤗
Through your videos I have learned to advocate for myself as a consumer, and that's never a bad thing.
Info = 10, didactic = 10, material = 10,
explanation = 10, presentation = 10, rant on the end = 10+. Thank you!
Awesome, thank you!
Thank you :-)
You would make such a good nurse!! Thanks for sharing the information. People are responsible for what they do with the information.
Anyway, I've been watching all your videos from oldest to newest. I appreciate all that you are willing to share and I am now a huge fan! ❤️
I wish you and yours Happy Holidays and a very Happy New Year!
This was literally the kind of video I was looking for to get started, so informative and perfect, thank you so much!
This is how you teach someone something. Thanks!
