Suzie! You should do a "nails through the decades" series. It would involve recreating nail styles from the past to the present (maybe 1920s-2020s)! I'd especially love to see your take on the '80s, which you know so well ;)
P.s., I love your videos so much. I'm in grad school right now and I've been using your videos to unwind from all the stress! Thank you for all that you do.
I learned more from her in short videos than I did in a year of nail school 3500 later 🤦🏽♀️ All hail the Queen. She is amazing in every way. I’m so thankful for her :) 👑
IKR, I am five months in a far better off than I was for 8 years, of course a lot of it was also being iron and b12 anemic so I couldn’t remember much, but now I’m gluten free I can actually make more sense of everything I learn here, and Susie is the most positive, gracious, and easy to follow teacher. Although many others are good, not all are good teachers, and she is definitely a good teacher.
This was SUCH an amazing video!! I just couldn't figure out why my coffins would be so square on the bottoms but look so rounded on top!!! This was a wonderful visual guide, I'll be rewatching this a few times to make sure I fully understand! What a huge difference when you file that "muffin top" away (lol)!!!
I wish techs at the nail salon would draw on my nails when I want something other than a usual square! I wouldn't mind since it would provide a visual guide for the tech and me when it comes to how I want my nails shaped but it's probably seen as unprofessional/amateurish. The trouble is my coffin nails never come out looking the way I want them and I have to end up filing them myself to fix them, which I shouldn't have to do after paying for a pro to do them.
@@DarlingNikki2 you should tell your nail tech. If it's a good shop, they're very open to you getting exactly what you want. Bring picture references. After they shape one, take a look and ask for what you want. You're paying good money. You should get what you want.
Oh my nails definitely go side ways after I try to shape it... i will probably draw these guides on my nails for the foreseeable future lol thank you so much!!
Hi suzie just wanna say luv u and your my favorite mail artist/technician even though I am 14 I luv doing nails and I hope one day I can go to get a business degree and earn my nail license and learn how to do all types Of nails and become an owner of a mail studio so yes I just wanntd to tell you that u inspire me more than you know and I have learned so much from you Thank you
So excited to watch this!!! I've been trying to perfect coffin nails but, haven't found the right technique yet. I already know how helpful this video is going to be!!!
Thank you for this!!!! I am not a professional nail tech but I do, do my own nails and I always mess up on a coffin!!! Again thank you for showing us how to contour the nail into this shape!!!!
Omg!!! This was a game changer!! I’d been filling the sides forever and now that I’m “attacking the muffin top” my nails look amazing!! Thank you so much for sharing in this video. Best nail tutorial on RUclips EVER!!!
I found that if I shape my nails before I take off the polish it turns out better! Almond shape is my most hardest nail to do.. But you are absolutely right you have to take the top off to see what it really looks like!! Thank you Susie!! Great advice!
Suzie, I just became a nail instructor, here in Las Vegas. I just got my first class last Friday. We zoom M-T and in class W-Th. My students have expressed the desire to learn how to to different shapes. I'm the 4th out of the 6 instructors that they will have. I will definitely be showing them this. I have a curriculum to follow and it doesn't include filing, but as long as they get what they are supposed to, I have free reign. Thank you💜
Thank you so much for this, Suzie! I’ve been doing my nails as you explain and this is the first time I’ve created a good coffin shape. You are a marvel, never stop educating us ❤
Thank you Suzie! I love that you actually drew them! Will definitely try it like that for more accuracy until I get the hang of it! I have natural nails so some these tips help a lot other than the type of file! I've always tried to do a coffin/tapered square when my nails are shorter because a plain square always looked flaring up to me but whenever I tried it, I always take off one end more than the other and I didn't know what I was doing wrong haha. This was suuper helpful.
omg THANK YOU for this!! i've started doing my own poly gels and have always wondered what i'm doing wrong when i attempt coffins. this explained exactly what i've been doing wrong! so excited to implement this next time!
Thank you Suzie I have learned so much watching your videos. Glad I came across this channel! I love coffin nails and I have started doing them myself ever since covid began. Very helpful videos thank you! 🤗
I just recieved my new lamp the other day! After watching your video about lamps and gel compatibility, I realized that the majority of my gel polishes and all my poly gels are Madam Glam, so I finally ordered a lamp from them. While I was waiting on it to arrive, my new manicure started to come apart! The poly gel/builder gel lifted from my natural nails, which still has a very thin layer of old poly gel on them. I had just finished building my nails 4 days prior to them lifting. I haven't rebuilt my nails yet, but I have removed all the lifted product, and shortened my nails as they are very brittle(which is why I keep either poly gel or builder gel on them). I'll use the new lamp with clear poly gel this weekend, and build new nails now that my natural nails are short, AND I have a proper lamp to use with the product.
It took me a long time to realize that "the top of the muffin" was just as important as every other angle. This is invaluable advice for nail techs, Suzie. Thank you!
Thank you so much, you hit the nail on the head when mentioned building a great nail but if you don't file correctly you can mess it up. This is going to help me so much.
Thank you sooooo much for this video!!! I've been having this exact problem and every video I have been able to find is either just filing the sides off or sculpting it from beginning. I was so excited when I got this notification for this video. Thank you. I've learned so much from you. 🥰
YES, coffin is my favorite! One thing that’s been on my mind lately are the trending coffin nails on IG - they look to be rather flat (as in minimal to no c-curve), yet have a very distinct, crisp shape. If I had to guess, they are probably achieved with tips. I personally prefer mine to look like yours, but clients often find it hard to resist the Instagram shaping.
Your voice is so pleasant and this was so helpful! I've been buying these medium length sqaure press ons bc they're really cheap and strong and I think this will really modernize their look!!
omg please do more videos about mastering nails shapes! all of them I need that and I understood everything while you were explaining like very easy ! so please do more love you and thank you for sharing
Omg thank you so much! I've sifted through countless RUclips videos on how to get this coffin shape just right and I still was struggling! but when you explained the Muffin top example and I watched you work your nail file, it really clicked me and I feel like I will finally be able to successfully achieve the ballerina shape as opposed to even the coffin I know how similar they both are but I still see there just a slight variation and I've always struggled to achieve my fave of the those two, the ballerina shape!:) so just want to say thank you so much!! your videos are always super informative and it's really great content keep it up!!
Oooo nooo son mi pesadilla!! I haven't get the perfect coffin shape yet but with your guidance I will get better thanks to share your knowledge I really enjoy them gracias!!!
How is there a Susie show that I haven't seen before? Lol okay, looks like I get to binge a few episodes that I missed. Best news I've gotten all day 🙌 whoop 🙌 👏 👌 👍 😀 😄 🙌
Wow this is awesome. I’ve been trying to look for shaping videos for so long and they don’t explain anything properly. Thank you Suzie! Please do all shapes! :)
THANK YOU!! I have been struggling with the "muffin top". I could never figure out why my coffin nails always have that annoying curve to them . This was sooo helpful🤗❤
Hey Suzie, thank you so much, such a great video and you always explain everything so clearly. I’m from the UK and would LOVE to do one of your international courses - hopefully you’ll be hosting them in the future 💅🏼💗
This was amazing! I'd love to see this kind of master class with an almond nail... its my fav shape but i have such a hard time filing it into that shape
Ohhhh suzie thank you for this video 😭 I was struggling so much with this. I had this problem when I would make super longgggg coffins and THEN shorten the nails. After shortening the coffin free edge has to be redone and made more narrow or it will be a weird wide coffin. I’d always have this problem and didn’t realize it still looked like it was rounded and bowed out because it was the bulk even though I already fixed the edges Thank you!!!!! I can’t wait to try this next time and get it right without screwing it up lol. ❤️

Thank Suzie, this is what I needed 👍😁
was gonna say great visual aids!!!!!
I NEEDED a video example like this where the demonstration is on oneself. THANK YOU!!!
I learned more from her in short videos than I did in a year of nail school 3500 later 🤦🏽♀️
All hail the Queen. She is amazing in every way. I’m so thankful for her :) 👑
That is a cheap school, is that only for nails?

I was making the exact same mistake. This video explains everything perfectly. Thank you so much posting this.
This was EXACTLY what I’ve been needing!! I’m a visual learner and this is absolutely wonderful!!! Thanks SO MUCH!
I love how you are so detailed when you are teaching us I just love you ❤️
I ALWAYS draw on my nails when shaping almond or coffin. I find almond especially hard without drawing it first. Thank you Suzie!!

Thank you Ms. Suzie! I was never able to get rid of the “muffin top” look and now I’m excited to do my next coffin set!!
