I made these last weekend…but took more of a taco approach them burger. I mixed my meat with taco seasoning and an egg then coated the outside of the meatball with more taco seasoning. I used fiesta blend shredded cheese. I assembled and folded them still on the grill…just for soaking up a little extra in the tortillas and the cheese to melt. Topped with lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, and salsa. They were AMAZING!!! My family loved them so much, that’s what is for dinner tonight! I also did homemade fries on the Blackstone. 🤤🙌🤤

Making these again tonight. Ive been using a Rubbermaid Deviled egg carrier and premake my burger balls. I put one in each depression, season well, put the lid on it and in the fridge till needed at the Blackstone for their ultimate sacrifice. 😅😊

With that title, I was expecting you to cram a burger into a taco and add the other stuff to it.
I was watching along as you put the burgers on them on the griddle and seasoned them as usual. Then...BOOM! You did the trick with the tortilla.
I immediately thought, "this guy is a genius!"
What a great idea! You could feed a lot of folks with these as you just keep cranking 'em out.

We been making Taco Burgers in New Mexico for years and we add New Mexico Chile. This is like a normal thing here

Pepper Jack, Cheddar or American depending on what kind of mood I’m in. I do throw in the White American if I’m doing a cheese steak.

I always use American cheese slices or provolone on y smash burgers. I havent tied these yet but are on my to do next list. Thanks for the tips.

Sharp cheddar cheese is my preferred choice.

I either use american or if I'm making a fancy smoked burger I use pimento cheese, occasionally I make mushroom and swiss smashburgers...

Only Tillamook cheddar cheese. medium or sharp aged.
Going to try this tomorrow. Thinking about fresh shredded (not from a bag) cheese mix to maybe get some crispy edges from any overspill, then top with pickled red onions, jalapenos, diced tomatoes and some cilantro lime crema before placing them in a taco holder to shape.

I'd be happy with just about any cheese I have on hand for these, so long as it melts well. I'm partial to smoked Gouda, but American sure does melt nice and has that classic cheese burger flavor👍😊

I made some on Friday with home made tortillas. I prefer cheddar slices. Or Swiss If I'm having mushrooms.

I just use a soft taco sized tortilla.
Sharp cheddar american cheese is my go to. Melts well and has a better taste than regular american.
Once you go Pepper Jack, you"ll never go back!

Swiss cheese, but I can’t think of a cheese that wouldn’t work! A Mexican blend would work too!

Keeping with taco theme, I think I'd try a white queso with these, and keep the lettuce, tomato, and onion

Awesome vid Hungy Hussie. I do have a question the side you put the tortilla on the meat ball does it get cooked once you flip it. Or since there so thin it cook right threw??? I just don’t want to make anyone sick if I make these.
The burger is so thin when smashed down, it's cooked. If it was thick I'd say no, but these are so thin that you can see the griddle between the holes.
