Isabella regarding your previous video, for smooth and split ends free hair you should apply hair oil like coconut oil every night and give your hair massage and take hair bath the next day . Coconut oil help your hair to keep moisture and help your hair to grow faster for sure

Guys shellac is a brand of gel polish not a type of nails 😭
Yes i think CND named their 3-step Gelpolish System Shellac in the first place but all the other nail art shops and brands just use shellac under their own brand now, since the word shellac became more known for the „natural gel manicure“ than „uv gel polish“. It‘s a bit like saying cleenex in your everyday life although you are not using the actual brand.
Yeah shellac is from creative nail design. I've used it as a tech for many years since the early 90s...

No, it’s not. Shellac is not a brand of gel. It’s different from gel. Shellac is made with two components: gel for longevity as well as regular nail polish for shine, thus being thinner than regular gel nails. Gel nails last longer than shellac but are also harder to remove.
@@averyxbrown you are wrong. Shellac is a brand of gel nail Polish from Creative Nail Design. I used to own my own nail business and solely carried CND SHELLAC GEL POLISHES. I've been a nail tech for 42 years now. I'm pretty sure I know what I'm talking about.

For those wondering what shellac is. Shellac is a brand of soft gel polish by CDN and other brands of soft gel polish includes orly gel fx, entity colour couture etc. Now, there are two different types of gel: soft gel and hard gel. Acrylic nails are another medium altogether. Hard gel is what everyone considers regular gel nails versus getting acrylics done. So, hard gel would be the layers of gel used with either forms or tips (or even just on the natural nail) and then filed to shape before adding colour. Soft gel can be used on top of the hard gel or on the natural nail alone without the use of forms/tips. You still need a base and top coat for soft gel. I hope this clears up anything. I work with both soft and hard gels. It’s an easy misconception about what it is.

take biotin & keratin supplements, itll help a bit. it had a lot to do with genetics but having the right nutrients is crucial for growth

Hannah Karavias I don’t know what your diet is like, but try altering it a bit. Drinking more water and eating foods with more nutrients is what helped me. My hair and nails used to take forever to grow. But ever since I changed my diet and drank plenty more water, they’ve been healthier and quicker-growing (:

Hi, it really does depend which brand u use and where u buy that brand cause sometimes it might be a knockoff of the real brand and hence mess with wearability. Now what also can happen is that your nails don’t “match” to the shellac e.g. nails produce too much oil or sth like that. I had a client with the same problem but thats a very rare occurence. What u do need to know and i can’t emphasize this enough: it is only shellac if its a soak off gel polish. If I can’t get it off of ur nails by soaking them in and the material pretty much falling off of ur nail by itself after they soaked for a while, then it ain’t shellac. Brands i recommend: opi gel color and cnd shellac

There are some factors that could cause that. Some tips for a long-lasting shellac manicure: push back your cuticles, file the surface of your nails, especially the part near your cuticles, it will ensure that your shellac is properly sealed later on; rub your nails with alcohol or acetone to make sure they are totally dry; use primer before basecoat; and when you apply the shellac, leave a tiny space between the lac and your skin and cover the tips. You can try applying two layers of topcoat instead of one. That should last about 2 weeks without chipping.

Drills really aren’t needed for anything with nails, some techs use them to save time but damage nails

I found after getting my shellac removed my natural nail was very dry and it would peel and break easily (i had quite sturdy strong nails before having shellac) I ended up filing them down and keeping them short until all the damaged nail had grown out xx although it might just have been my nail salon that damaged my nails
sakeena x yeah, shellac is very very damaging for your natural nails. I prefer dip powder, it’s way less damaging
Any Msr it’s really not, dip powder is just acrylic. Shellac only damages your nails when your nail is prepped wrong and when it’s removed wrong.
Shellac doesn’t do the damage. It’s a bad application or removal. 💯 (manicurist 🙋♀️)

But isn't that an effect of all kinds of fake nails? I mean, it's literally a piece of plastic glued to your nails, it'd be damaging to them regardless of the type of application.
Just curious, is that the actual brand “Shellac” by CND or a gel polish by another brand? The reason I’m asking is that a lot of salons wrongly uses the brand name “Shellac” as a treatment name. It’s like a hair salon would say that you can get “Revlon” when they mean “a keratin treatment” but with another brand.

Shellac itself is not a brand, it's a resin secreted a female "lac" bug which is dissolved into alcohol and added into paints and other bits to make things hard. As long as the product contains actual shellac flakes then it can be called shellac.
CND Shellac is a brand, but you can get other brands of shellac also.

Shellac/gel polish is a 2/3 week polish. CND is a brand. Shellac and gel polish is the same thing. Tbh I don’t see the difference in using cnd and dnd brands. The Propolis or DND polish lasts normally on my nails

I literally did the same thing! I got mine on December 27 2019 and I kept them since March 14 2020 because that day I’d go take them of to the salon. But of corse it closed because of the corona virus so I had to take them of myself. But yeah I had the same result !
