Would you just....LOOK AT IT.
What's your favorite gen Camaro?
the gen before the current gen
Second gen 1978
I've had a 1977 a 1984 a 1988 and a 1995 that i currently drive , gen 2 is my favorite .
70 no doubt
3rd gen for sure.
use me as a “I think David should build a classic muscle car” button. After these series of Detroit Speed reviews i’m convinced.
A 69 grabber blue mustang named papa Smurf
He really should
@@jrcautomotive4319 nah 65-66
Just to do something different, he should do a AMX
@@Jasonsminiadventure those didn’t come in grabber blue
Damn this build is immaculate I honestly love this gen of camaro shit has a presence on the road
2nd gen Camaros are my favorite. Just because of Bumble Bee in Transformers
Tbh... same lol man when that movie came out I drooled over every New camaro on the road
Ew
Bro bumblebee is z28 from 77-78 is not this gen
@@apoloz1 it is that gen just slight body redesigns they’re both second gen camaros kiddo
@@theeoddments960 still different that’s my point. Thanks for the feed back 👍
I love how Kyle is sitting there as his car is getting hammered at...probably 80-100MPH looking like he is thinking about what is for dinner.
I'll tell you what...I can't wait to be able to afford a restomod someday
you should definitely do it man. best of luck you know its coming in the future!
You’d be better off keeping a classic mostly original and prettying it up, it’d be worth more.
@@Brickington23 That's true of the person plans on selling it. If you're going to keep it, might as well build it the way you want.
Same power as a c7 zo6 corvette, that's awesome
Dude right? I couldn't believe how flawless this thing drove.
**C6 Z06**
@@superflo9768 C6 Z06 = LS7 505 hp. C7 Z06 = LT4 650 hp. This car = Modified LS7 650 hp. Same "POWER" as a C7 Z06 corvette.
@@Gilligansrevengeahh yes, I just read it wrong the first time
c6 zr1 had 638hp the c6 zo6 had alot less than 650
My favorite gen camaro by far. I'm a ford guy but would get one of these in a heart beat.
Remember seeing this thing on SPEED back when pro touring was a new thing
What a beast of a car.. next do a review on a gen 1 camaro!
never liked split bumper camaros, this one looks 1000% better
My dads first car was a 1973 Split-Bumper Chevy Camaro. It was dark blue, with white stripes. I would love to find a rolling chassis so, that I don’t have to worry about p*****g off the purists out there. I would put an LS7 in it.
I just watched this Camaro last night on the track on AutotopiaLA's channel, this Camaro is sick! Beautiful build and sounds so good 😍
OMG I saw this one in the background from the IROCZ review and I was screaming PLEASE REVIEW THAT 2ND GEN!!! PLEASE Thank you so much David!
My man! Finally doing some classic muscle car reviews
AHHHH I want it. I had a 77 a while back. I miss it.... I need another one someday.
My first car was a 1977 Camaro, always wanted a 72 built like the one featured here (I’m in my 50’s) as this is just a sweet build - very cool! 👍👍
i love this color blue on the camaro! it looks so damn good
i love the "factory +"(if that makes sense) way of building cars
it doesn't feel like someone just shoved an LS7 in it
instead its fully built all around almost like it came out of the factory today
a proper remaster. i love it
What a beautiful vehicle. From the era of "theres no replacement for displacement." Astounding work.
I absolutely love that 'stuffed wheel' nascar look. Road course material.
Keep posting the collector type cars and such fr these are so nice and def a new upcoming series you can do
Love you bro
The kids are all right just give them an old muscle car for some experience of what my generation drove, this Camaro is like my '73 LT z28 with 350 L82 turbofire and it had a Rochester carb that served that motor well I swear it could rev to 8,000 the Muncie shifters weren't very reliable and missing 3rd gear was the result and the reason the handling was great for that era having bias belted wide ovals on steel rims I sold it for a 79 Vette which was a disappointment to me
Finally! Some good Ol' American muscle! Thank You! ❤💕
This is actually my dream build haha. The 1978 facelift of course 😎
this is my favourite year of Camaro and I want one so bad. i love the full bumper too it just adds a nice look to it. the only thing I would also want one with t- top but that's because i had a 95 with them and i miss them.
Great video and great Camaro!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!
66-69 Camaros are freaking nice, I LOVE them, I think cars in the mid to late 60s were the best tbh
Amazing business turning out gems like these definitely a lot of passion behind it
Been really cool seeing both you & Shawn from AutotopiaLA shooting the same Detroit Speed builds 🥰🥰👍💙💚 Rock on bud!
Much appreciated!
I sold my 73 split bumper RS to build my 85 and wish I would have never made that move. That blue car is awesome
Even being 26, with no car channel and moderate tech skills, 3:11 made me cringe.
It takes 20 mins to figure out how a carb works. Depressing to see people my age purposely avoid them.
I'm usually the one laughing when 1 of your 500 engine sensors fail. I've been on both ends and the lack of electronics on carbed machines is a god send. No spider web of wires that you have to chase all over. No potential random sensor faults. No low signals. No frayed looms. No ecu management or errors.
Turn a screw while hooked up to a vacuum guage. Done.
My 81 will be like this one day
Not much of a muscle fn myself, but the stuff these guys come up with is so awesome. I'd love to own something as high quality as any of what these guys have built.
What a gorgeous car! 😍 how could someone dislike already? Lol wow
Loving the Camaro content 🔥💯
Loving these muscle car reviews always been a muscle car lover
that thing is BEATUFUL!!!
My favorit is gen 2 camaros. We have in finland one Gen 2 that is dritf car which runs in the drift championship series. Lightened just little pit by fiberclass, power by ls7 whit centrifugal supercharger (845hp). He is one of the oldest dritf drivers in series +10years experience. He has been in the drifting since the beginning of the sport in finland
Thanks. Now I miss my Placer Gold Metallic 72 RS.
beautyful, todays power with classic beauty. love it!
Man those gears though 😍 very clean cool car glad to see it on the road!
Been wanting to do this forever!
im 21 and my car is carb'd i like its simplicity and i the find efi scary haha ,I plan on a 4.8 turbo anyways so im enjoying the BEAUTIFUL Sound of the Buick 350 until I do .Goodluck with ur projects everyone !
I'm 20, and I used to be the same. My grandfather got me started in cars, and he scared me shitless of EFI, computers, automatic transmissions. I ended up taking a leap by building a turbo miata with a full standalone ecu, and I dyno tuned it. Now I'm an electrical engineering student and old tech is more scary to me when it comes to tuning an engine. I love having sensors and data logs for everything, and I can safely tune for max performance in every cell and situation. I'd wire in a EGT and wideband sensor for every header runner if I could afford it.
Anyway, I'm still glad to have experience with classic and modern technology, and I certainly appreciate all builds, but my 13 year old self would run from the tech I use now. It all starts with a leap and a desire to learn; the internet has all of the information you need.
@@coadylewis7739 Hell yeah man!
I owned a 1979 camaro with a racing engine under the hood it had 750whp. I miss that car. It was a ticket car for sure. It was my 3rd car I owned as a young adult. 20 years later im hunting that car down to re-own it.
What a bad ass car. I have always loved the 70 camaro
"these cars had carburetors, but when you get into LS engines with fuel injection you're more familiar with that" was the most millennial thing ive ever heard (not in a bad way). i have almost put a tunnel ram and dual quads on my coyote a dozen times trying to figure out this idiotic fuel injection crap and the awful computer garbage...UGH! times are changing and i feel like im being left behind LOL
900 hp on a 9psi break in tune on a stock truck 6.0... 500hp on a carbureted forged internals $10,000 383 stroker. Carbs just don’t make sense anymore. We’ve gotta learn to change and not be stubborn
@@jakebrandt8073 why are you compairing boost to a naturally aspirated carb? Blow through carbs are a thing LMAO
@@lb9gta307 if it had EFI ya wouldnt need a blow through just to run boost, lol
@@riogrande163 still needs other changes not that that's my point. You can run boost on both applications and make power. You can use EFI or a carb on either set up too. What he said about a 383 is totally unrelated to what he said about a 6L and a turbo. It was inaccurite too.
@@lb9gta307 there’s literally no point to run a carb other than originality. If you stick to the past you get left behind. You lose 15 or so horsepower out the box no matter what you do. They are garbage in comparison for any high g Motorsport. Carbs are no comparison. There’s a reason we changed.
I know a guy at work who has a 71 camaro. Bondo’d gray with a 408 stroker with about 480hp. By far my favorite camaro. I dream in life is to buy that car and make it my own. I’d probably swap a 440 sb2 engine in it with a jerico but that’s just.
This car is absolutely stunning
so pumped to see you do a restomod
i saw this car at an autocross. it sounded so good
Beautiful classic Camaro
1st Gen guy myself! But this Maro is 🔥
I admit I wasn’t the biggest fan of the second generation Camaro but it’s growing on me
My fav gen camaro and firebird
I wonder how much of those repro parts came from my workplace... they've been one of our vendors for a long time. DSE is a great company, the value is subjective because it ain't cheap, but they provide a high quality product you can rely on.
hi David. nice vid. liked b4 watching b/c I knew it was going to be good
Thats my favorite bodystyle camaro ever made
My dads got a 71 with a 454 - I wish I could get him to let you review it 😭
The front tires on this thing are BIGGER than my rears... and I have 305s on the rear... #BFG are life!!!
you sir, just reviewed my top dream car.
Breath taking
Great vids
Road America. Yeah buddy 👏🏼
Finally, some classic muscle
The Beauty of owning an old car is that you can go any route you want !
the intro song slaps I need it
also this car is sweet need one in black
I was looking for a 70' to 73' Camaro for a few year's. Kept looking couldn't find one in my budget. I almost gave up suddenly a customer told me he was selling his 70' Firebird short story bought her several weeks later.
Car looks so clean
My fav put of all of them.
dream car right there
My favourite car of all time love the 2nd gen
I did right all matching numbers 68 rs/ss camaro!
i met a dude named sick vic like a month ago and he had a 1976? Camaro and omg it was insanely loud and it has 465 hp
Very beautiful car
How do I put THAT rear spoiler on my C7 Stingray?
I hope my 81 turns out this nice 👌
This was my 2nd car, color and all! I loved my car. My brothers were not allowed to drive it😂. Unfortunately, my bank, step-dad, repoed it because I got behind a couple of payments. And, he wanted to turn it into a race car. 😢
Sweet!
Sweet camaro! You should a review a done up 4th gen Lt1 or 383 camaro z28👍
God what a beautiful machine.
Badass rig 🤘
It's gorgeous, envious I dont have one.
4:30 - 4:41 this dude takes 650+ horsepower like it's a casual Sunday cruise downtown
Awesome car, you should review about two older cars a month
This is dope
HEY! me and my top sportsman class buddies would love for you to drive some door shutters n promods get some real horsepower in those veins lol.
Up next... The Roadster Shop...😎
badass
I really wanna build a 67 XR7 Cougar, wide flars a 5.0 yellow/gold paint.
Anyone know what tires, n rims are on er I’m gonna get the same
Thath looks so muscle it flexes just by staying parked!
Anyone know what wheel/ tire package and sizes?
Got my popcorn
Come to Washington to do a review on my 700rwhp turbo camaro 😊😊😏
You gotta drive a restored muscle car. Just once. Bias plys, drum brakes, bus size steering wheels. The works.
If you listen to him in other videos he'd be frightened going more than 25mph in something like that.
Never clicked on a video so fast
wow what wheels are those?
North Carolina!
