- We saw this magnificent 2nd gen Camaro with its supercharged LS7 at Supercar Sunday and knew we had to shoot it! The paint/body and fab work is flawless and even if you're tired of seeing LS motors you gotta appreciate a dry sump supercharged LS7 in my opinion so sit back and enjoy the ride...

We want to hear from you. Like the music? Like the cars? Like the locations? Tell us what you’d like to see and we’ll do our best to bring it to you as we continue creating content.
Thanks for watching and help spread the word by telling your friends to check out AutotopiaLA! New episode every Tuesday and Friday at 5 pm (pst).
This is a reason why usually good builders would drive the cars they build for a couple of hundred miles before delivery to make sure everything works perfectly. So these things, especially for restomods, are natural for them to "break down" like this. Find weak links, fix them, rinse and repeat until she's completely dialed. It's part of the process. If people complain, they can always go ahead of build their own cars.
Amen and amen
That’s right. Even Singer Porsche puts 300 miles on every car and they’re not doing 1 off builds
Every reputable builder will shakedown the build for a few hundred miles.
@@AutotopiaLA yup! Also, Roadster Shop, 500 miles. I believe Revology too. It's essential, and a no-brainer. It's reassurance. Always gotta put the miles on a new build to insure they are properly dialed, this also means pushing them to their limits!... Nevertheless, great build this one. Definitely worth the asking price, but once dialed in.
Sounds like the builder wasn't enthusiastic about doing the build anyway...complaining about stuff he didn't want to do and it still takes him 10 years to do what he did and it breaks down with 50 miles on it. I would be pissed. And it breaks down during a video shoot.
I’m obsessed with the ‘70 1/2 and this is the most jaw dropping restomod I have ever laid eyes on. 10 years well spent
2nd gen is my favorite Camaro and this one is simply stunning
@@AutotopiaLA Same love the way they drive.
Is he an electrician or a Crue fan? (Lic plate)
Was this at Supercar Sunday in Woodland Hills?
Damn guys, there is no shortage of quality rides out there. Every episode is better than the last. I've always been a fan of the Gen2. Outstanding work again, guys top notch.
California is old car heaven
@@dogsense3773 it's just sad that cali has the worst legislation when it comes to mods and emissions. Besides being one of the top most expensive states to live in. The car culture runs deep out there. Just a great history.
@@JTMoney333 1975 and down any modifications you want, so it not all bad
Absolutely PERFECT stance!
Yea it is 💯🔥❤️
Hmm $250,000 and mechanical breakdown…..
The car has 50 miles on it. It’s called shakedown…you’ll always find things
@@AutotopiaLA The builder should have done the shakedown.
Beautiful car. That tire/rim fitment is perfect.
It’s close* to perfect, but a little too narrow. Needs more dish or 1” wheel spacers
Easily one of my Favorite cars you have showcased. Stunning!
I only have two words for that car. GOD DAMN!
I totally understand. A car this nice you can’t just drive without being worried about having something happen to it.
I get it too. My approach is drive and enjoy but that’s not everyone’s approach
Simply beatiful ! ❤
Gorgeous build. 10 yrs ago aftermarket fuel pumps were not what they are today. My 10 year old build (66 Chevelle) had fuel pump issues until we put an Aeromotive pump in the car. No issues since.
Former 2nd Gen owner and this car is basically everything I envisioned my car to end up being. Just a really awesome restromod vehicle that is worth every penny and labor hours.
My first muscle car in high school was a 1970 camaro! That is a great looking ride! ✌
As always. Amazing Camaro and outstanding interview. Best car show out there. Thank you
Thank you! Beautiful car with some typical shakedown issues
The most beautiful
Camaro…
The second generation!!
The Grey Ghost.
Exceptional Build, Sir…🇺🇸
I’m with you
The body and paint I can only describe as liquid. It’s fluid and flowing and pure perfection. Palmer is a magician..
Wow what a awesome ride
Going to be another bad ass epic episode 💯🔥..can’t wait..
This channel is often the highlight of my day. And it pushes me to keep wrenching on my S550
Awesome! Love hearing that and keep at it!! Then show me your car!
I parked next to Steve at the Cops and Cruisers car show in Simi Valley and he is a hell of a nice guy and this Camaro won it's class (obviously). Beautiful car.
Really nice guy and a beautiful build he’s selling
Such a sweet Camaro.
Very Sweet !
Second Gen Camaro is best looking Camaro in my opinion!!!!!!
Masterpiece...
My favorite model camaro!!
I wish I could see more Camaro's that look this clean ....what a gem!
Yes sir
Awesome Car and one of my favorite Camaro
Really nice. Was never big on the 70 1/2 Camaros but I am on this one. Wow.
Great car! Thanks Shaun, for always showing everything, warts and all. The realness is what everyone respects about you and your show. If it doesn’t work out, you have a great career ahead in used car sales!
Thank you and god help me to never have to sell used cars lol!!
You are so correct. It is most definitely part of the shake down. All cars need and must do it. Its how they become cars
Wow, just wow. Total dream car, Well done sir!
Just absolutely a beautiful ride stances amazing workmanship is amazing
What a monster, super clean build.
Really clean build for sure
Half these comments are hilarious, brand new factory built cars go wrong daily
Chillax people enjoy the vid 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Exactly! It’s called shakedown on a very fresh build. Stuff will happen
Especially Chryslers LoL, camshaft failures.
Big respect to the owner for doing a shoot and going through the shakedown. Anyone that has had high performance cars knows this process and the side of having to fix things. Much respect. Love your content, long time subscriber, thumbs up, hammer me anytime with a notification. Boom!! Love u guys
Wow!!!!!! Slick 70 Maro!!! Very Very nice Great video!!!
what an outstanding builds!!! its all 70 and 1/2 but smoothed straightened tucked but no nips. its so sanitary evil looking the combo of wheels and color with finish and style of wheel are so dead nuts perfect. this is the only Camaro I'd have and a really like it as a mustang guy. this is a level beyond most. I love how the design just ties everything together it seems to be a well executed specific plan which makes the best cars. really top notch. aces!!! cheers
Beautiful car! Crazy how these cars have appreciated over the years.
Man, I love everything about that car! I can’t imagine investing that much time, effort, and money into a car build and then deciding to get rid of it immediately. That’s tough, but I had a friend do that exact same thing with a Chevy II and decided to get rid of it shortly after he sorted out the final build.
Just too nice for him to enjoy. I’d drive the hell out of it!
I know exactly where Steve is coming from, "to nice to enjoy" he has a lot of time, not just money, invested in the car. Its hard to throw all that to the wind sometimes. So very true shakedown shit is going to happen.
great shoot Shawn, one beautiful Camaro.
Thanks and definitely a beautiful ride that needs some mild sorting out
One of my top cars you have featured. The color is stunning and the car is well put together. The Forgelines are perfect. I love it !
I watched this at work so it didn't register on the subscription. Chris's car is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bummer about the fuel pump...it happens! This car is in my top 10. It will be perfect once the quirks & demons escape. That thing is absolutely SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK!!!!!!
Most likely simple shakedown and it’s turn key ready for some/lots of driving
Awesome build! Nicely done, nothing crazy just a real nice muscle car!!! Thanks for sharing, cheers!
This is going to be a good one.
250 is a STEAL for this bad boy.
Wow! that really is an incredible early 2nd Gen Camaro! I don't think I have ever seen a nicer one. I agree with you, I don't see how he can go through 10 years of a build and then sell it right away? But, that is he choice. Thanks for sharing it.
Thanks for the comment and for watching the video. What a gem
BUrned out I bet. Happens a lot
I will never understand the LACK OF HEADRESTS!! Not only do they make the seats look better, but they are a SAFETY feature for your neck!!!
Just don't wreck and you have no worries!
(I'm kidding!)
Aesthetics…
You can still get neck damage with headrests
@@gordocarbo explain how??? You definitely get neck damage W/O!!
Les roba toda la vista al auto
Building a chevelle currently and was finally getting to picking colors and am going with a darker gunmetal gray ext with black trim instead of chrome and the interior are 2016 bmw m6 front buckets and the rear seat that's a that same color red interior as this camaro! First I was a bit mad but it's so beautiful! Damn, at least I now know it's going to look GREAT! Ugh, the break in punch list blues. Definitely happens, on EVERY car build. A goal all custom builders work at is to get better and better with each one so those lists get smaller and smaller. However with an ever expanding line of performance products out there and new tech hitting the streets daily that list will always be the final stage of every fresh build, and this is a fantastic one!
Such a fantastic build 👏 " The episode itself was fantastic because it showed the passion that 1 has for building a car and also the the trials and errors that you come across. This is one of the most well planned and executed builds you shown on your show" Big ups to the owner a well executed build"
This paint combo is stunning! Looking forward to seeing your Chevelle
Very nice build, I love the second gen Camaros and Firebirds.
Hate second get but this body work and color is crazy definitely worth it
Artwork. Beautiful. Well done.
I love 71 and half Chevy Camaro 2nd gen.
So much of this car was so thought out.....and it shows!
Agreed. Someone’s gonna score a gem
Are You Kidding Me ?? Every Thing You Show is Bad Ass !!!!
lol! Thats our goal and luckily SoCal is bottomless on top quality custom builds
Don’t worry Jack, there’s always some whacked-out motor head sittin shotgun runnin his flap!! 🤘🏼
I spent many a’nights sitting “back there” in my big bro’s muscle cars in the early 80’s! 👍🏼
They better not be giving you shit ,, this is the best car show out there ✌️✌️✌️✌️
People always do but I don’t care. We make this for enthusiasts not Prius owners lol!
New intro is banging, bro. That powerplant is immaculate and the wheel and tire choice is perfect. Up in Maine we used augers for ice fishing. This cat puts 'em in his exhaust pipe. Badass idea! Shakedown cruises sometimes reveal unpleasant surprises but it's all part of the game. Sucks it happened during shooting but it's all good. Thanks for the ride, guys!
One of my favorite cars! Awesome build luv it!🔥
Beautiful car happens to all of us believe that. Great video!
Part of the process. With only 50 miles on the clock there will likely be some small issues like showing this video
another home run!! thanks
That is a 10 out of ten. Of course I’m talking about the mullet.
Wow such a clean build. So great
This car was done so well .. Not to much of anything but a lot of classy styling
This car will sell!!
This channel... Winner after winner! What an amazing car! I wish I could call Steve up and make a real offer on the car.
Awsome lower suspension, engine bay and interior. Great episode. Greetings
All the right stuff to make this a great build
Love the Gen 2's . Super clean!
Impressive car and I understand stand where the owner is coming from. I built an insane Sonoma GT AKA Syborg TT and I went to far with it. Ended up selling it at Sema and then bought a 70 Camaro. This time I did satin paint and my plan is to let it Patina and just enjoy it. For me the build is the best part.
My favourite Camaro body style by far
Same for me
Split bumper 70-71 z28 Camaros are divided with the 98 z28 SS model for me. This car is thick with awesomeness. There was another special 98 year vehicle that rides in the group but that’s not what we’re on about here.
Thats a smooth looking car.
Another great episode 👍🏾
You know I love me some 2nd gen’s and no worries/shake em down for a reason 👍🏼 Beautiful car Steve, thanks for sharing!
Sounds great on my headphones!
Awesome shawn...... Amezing Craftsmanship......... Greetings from india🇮🇳🤠🤠🤩🤩🤘🏻🙌🏻
Its still a beautiful Camaro! Once he gets the gliches out and drives it more it will be awesome!
Exactly. Simple shakedown time
I wish my budget allowed me to do all the those Detroit Speed goodies to my 79 Z28. Love that stance and the wheels/tires. Knocked it out. Long live the 2nd gens.
I bought a brand new 79 Z28 in 1980 the new models were out but they still had a black 79 with 5.7 that I fell in love with.
Nice looking car. I can imagine the frustration. Had fuel problems last week with my roadside truck. Was loosing rpm at in of the lights and sputtering a bit. Dies right as I’m pulling into the customers parking lot. Started pulled to the spot. Unlocked their car. Did my paperwork and wouldn’t start. Pumped the gas and it started then died. I know I got spark now just lacking fuel pump or injector or clogged filter. Was able to lip it home by going into neutral. Got some injector cleaner and it seems to work.
Think he was more excited for the build then the final product lol
Killer build!!! Sad it took 10 years just to decide it is too nice. Get the feeling he is fed up with the process. Been there, done that, sold my truck right after it was done for that reason. Ended up chilling out and buying it back 6 months later.
Epic car
Damn 🥵🥵. Uffff!!! This Camaro is so freakin’ CLEAN!! I remember Chris and I saw this car at Supercar and he went to talk to the guy. Glad to see you got him on the channel. Honestly, the “no visible wires” level of design reminds me of Dave!!! His new BLK ORS is designed that same way. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
This thing is really beautiful and at that price someone is going to score big
@@AutotopiaLA I typed this as I was watching, and later saw you reference Dave yourself, in regards to the augerred exhaust. 🤘🏼😏
Perfect maro in every way . I enjoy this vid thnx.
Just an absolute beautiful car love the body style.
Damn, literally my favorite generation Camaro, and my favorite year, and definitely my top 20 favorite car of all time (huge car guy, there's a big list lol)... this one is absolutely gorgeous... shame, and I completely understand his pain. All that time and money not really thinking at the end of it, you'll have something so damn perfect you'll never want to touch it because you're scared of getting it dirty, someone hitting it, something happening to it.
Hopefully someone comes at him with a good offer, and he gets the car he wants in the perfect condition he's comfortable with actually enjoying....he needs a Derelict build honestly, something with the chassis and the performance to enjoy driving, with the body to not worry about a ding or getting dirty. Good luck man 👌
Very clean looking build. I like the ghost stripe how it goes inside and out. The wire tuck is nice too. Although I don't build stuff for shows (I like drag racing) I respect the attention to detail and quality of work this car has. The colors are also nice. Saddle interior color is also something I have yet to do but I like the deep reds/browns... Now with the LS7, I would have built that bottom end for boost. It seems like they slapped springs and studs in it with a pat on the butt and then it got a 3L Whipple... Wow, that's just ballzy! I would hate to crap a bunch of internals out the exhaust or make a window in that block... There is always more to do! GLWTS! Someone will get an epic build with a lot of headroom for engine upgrades to make safer use of the blower. Very nice!
Very cool!! I just noticed you’re up over 500,000 subscribers!! Nice work!! Your content is terrific and extremely engaging in a very smart way that is enjoyable to watch. After watching my first video I was completely impressed. No doubt this channel will go up over 1 million subscribers in the not so distant future my friend. Keep it up!! 👍🏻😎👍🏻
Overall, it's a very beautiful car
Insane details. 10year build. Some like the process of building and not the owning. I get the too nice, but after 10 years, I couldnt let it go.
Looks awesome what's that color called .10yrs that's a labor of love most guys loose intrest and sale the project in 3yrs in.
That’s committed for sure. Don’t know the color name but sure is a beauty
I didn't even SEE the video but I'm stoked for tomorrow night with a few cold ones and a new pipe. 😉
Awesome shirt bro, I knew you were one of us! :D
Love the new logo/intro
Thank you! The feedback helps and I love it too!
Effin' hilarious ad spot.. Didn't see that coming.
Nice ride and great episode.. I missed the live am bummed ..
Beautiful car!
Impressive car sounds great and looks awesome and that MOMO wheel 👌 can't go wrong
me encantan los camaro la experiencia que se lleva en construir un auto de ese nivel no es fácil es pasión por los muscle cars
Such an amazing build! I probably would've done a TT LS3 or a H/C/I LS7 for that amazing sound (w/o the "augers"), definitely different front seats (high back as they should be!), and probably went with slightly lighter silver proper dual stripes, but damn he did a GREAT job with that build!!!
I somewhat agree that it's almost too nice to drive, sadly... And the car dying, we've ALL been there on a new build, totally normal, especially for something as custom as this! My guess is it was something simple like a loose wire on a relay or uncalibrated fuel gauge.
Like na engines but supercharged LS7? Bet she makes gobs of torque everywhere.
