Camaro go BRR.
civic go BAAAAAA
Supra go Stu Stu Stu
How much would it cost to do one just like it???
MrJames3939 that’s my question
I’ve been waiting for this for so long
There is no other sound like a high reving V8.
Right🤤🤤
S65B40
Imo anything that revs high, sounds good.
Nathan Kim what are you trying to say? Like why are you asking a question?
Jaion Cebollero just giving a example I forgot to delete the question mark
De-Stroked 8,500RPM LS7: Exists
GM Execs: "MY god, why didnt we think of that"
Because they have to offer a warranty, lol
BECAUSE MURICA AND TORQUE
Isn’t that what the C6R and the C7R ran?
Edit: Yep just check its LS7 but it only make 590 due to regulations.
Because High rpm and V8’s simply don’t mix when it comes to long term reliability.
Daniel Fischer sad truth 💔
I've never wanted an IROC until now
Don’t worry we feel the same way. 😂
@YuhBoy DTOY Yeah because that's all his fan base is 🤦♂️. If people want to get a 3rd gen let them get a 3rd gen.
i still dont want one. but what it is doing is really selling me on the idea of LS'ing my 350Z.. & those wheels
I've always wanted one
bruh i have a thirdgen
I see a mullet starting to grow on David.
😂
Joe dirt is real
Idk. I think this is the only 3rd gen that takes the mullet out of the fad for these cars.
I love how Car RUclipsrs are getting access to all these dope shop cars that normally would be at all the shows that are shut down.
Everything about this thing is amazing. The kit and spoiler are perfect, colors are perfect, engine is amazing, just🤩🤩
Just the body itself is perfect 😂🤪
It’s badass even though it’s a camaro
This car makes me unironically think to myself "wow that thang sounds like nascar!" Lmao. That's a mean sounding LS
I know. Thing just needs and extra 1,500 rpm though
V8 - check
300-ish cubic inch displacement - check
Push rod, OHV layout - check
Massive horsepower and RPM - check
Sounds like the recipe is all there!
Still has an LS accent, though.
I just bought a 1985 IROC to build after seeing this car
Sleepy_Eg he could have wanted one already and they’re not that expensive
Eh he always has a zl1 pretty sure he can afford an iroc
@@sleepy_eg4020 you do know this car has been around for a few years right? They built it a while ago.
@DFB58 😴🥱😕
we all know it's going to turn out to be your typical vortec 350 swapped third gen with Cherry bombs and primer. lol jk, hope it turns out awesome
3rd and 4th gen camaros/firebirds are some of the best performance cars you can buy for the money, and not just for straight line racing.... they’re some of the best handling cars of their times as well! Can be made to handle extremely well with very little work. Also work great for drifting with very few mods
Totally agree, this makes me want to get my 94 z28 back on the road
Yeah man my project car RN is Trans Am WS6 02. Looked for a late 80's early 90's those things are picked up quick!
@@coreyclark2692 people REALLY underestimate these cars its not even funny.
Yeah I love my third gen. I went with an ls1 but really wanna build something crazy to throw under the hood
As an 01 Z28 owner with almost the full catalog of UMI suspension I agree wholeheartedly :)
This is actually really tastefully done. Only thing he was missing was a mullet.
And t-tops
A lowered Third Gen in black is one of the most sinister looking cars ever. It's a same most of them are trashed.
A lowered black 91-92 z28 in particular 😌
The trashed ones are going away. The ones worth building are being scooped up and restored or nicely modded.
Love having a "shitty" 3rd gen that can hang with the best of modern equipment.
They are. I got a black 1984 Z28 and it just looks mean as hell.
I just bought a lowered, matte black 91 RS recently. It's only a TBI, but jeez, it does look sinister and sounds awesome. I barely has any interior, but fuck it, Ima fix it all. It's worth it, especially in Poland where theres a few of them(I never actually met one in person until I bought one)
Thrashed means you can buy it cheap and fix it up
This car makes me cry tears of joy. My first 2 cars were 3rd gen Firebirds. I love everything about this build. The lines. The engine choice. The color. Everything. So sick.
"So lets hop in, go for a drive and see what it's like to drive a 150K build"
Depends on who’s doing the build.
DS said 200k+, big monies
@@trashbandit2449 I wonder if that's considering the first one that he mentioned was wrecked haha.
@@Rambochek_tactical I wouldn't think so but maybe. Rip
Over half of that is mf charging too much for labor.
Detroit speed is everywhere all of a sudden. This car is so much fun
Man, the stance, the fitment of them meety tires... love it!!!
Imagine this man coming out with a future project, "I bought a third gen camaro?!?!"
now imagine naming the project "Project Outlaw"
I hope so
The Camaros were ugly
Robyne U nah
PK442 the 4th gen ones my bad I like 3rd gen
Sounds like a nascar- hell yea brother
THE best sounding car I've heard on this channel, holy shit.
You know David is having a good time when he’s trying to talk over the car and his voice cracks!
Damn 8500 rpm
The simultaneous smiles while wooding it.... classic.
My all time favorite RUclipsr. Every video you post you can tell has hours of editing, planning out, and just overall effort! Keep it up!
Love to see a Monte Carlo SS mod'ed like this.

@@nunyabidness4946 Love all G-body's from the mid 80's and putting that motor in an all wheel drive car is insane!

OMG yesssssssss
Had this style Camaro in high school but it had a 4 cylinder and it lasted about 4 minutes. After the motor went we built a 383 stroker with a power glide and stuck it in the engine bay.Pretty sure I got more tickets in mine then all other cars I've ever owned. Awesome video and car.....
Detroit Speed is well known for building awesome cars and this is no exception. That motor was the perfect choice for a light car with a limited rear tire size. Thanks for the ride.
91 RS Camaro owner here. I'm in LOVE with this car. Me and a buddy were talking about this car earlier today and them BAM this video drops. Lol! Mine with be a turbo LS with a 4L80E making about the same HP. Drag setup though. Now I want to find another one and make a corner carver out of it. Still turbo LS though. Fricken DROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL! LOL! Great video!
Congrats man watching you grow inspired me to start my channel the content just gets better and better every time i wish you the best cant wait for whats to come 🙏🏼❤️
Ever since you posted the first Detroit speed review I’ve been waiting for this one
This is the earliest I've ever been
Headlight design on the car is basic af tho in my opinion. Looks like a line of 4 1998 yamaha blaster headlights put together 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Looking in the background and knowing exactly where all of this was filmed puts a big smile on my face! Awesome car and awesome video!
The ICONIC BEAST.
8500rpm from a crossplane V8 puts it in the same territory as the S65 V8 from the BMW E9x M3 and the 4.2FSI V8 from the Audi B7 RS4 (+R8) 👍
except this one makes 300 more hp
I like german cars but I have to give credit to these people because from what I remember, the LS7 has 16valves unlike those german V8s that have 32 valves
@@alexleonard1852 It better have 300hp more because it has a +3000cc larger displacement and uses aftermarket components AND the engine is propelling a heavy chassis that isn't as sophisticated as those german cars for handling. Those german engines can rev over 8000rpm in stock form.
smilepermile Yeah but those engines don’t hold up as well though. Also this seems to be so much more raw.
Only one big difference, the LS is actually reliable 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for featuring this car. A 3rd Gen Camaro with a modern drivetrain and suspension is my dream car. That might sound funny, but here's why: My father introduced me to cars, and he always had a 3rd Gen Camaro since they were new. I was born October 26th 1981. To celebrate my birth, my Dad went out and bought the 1982 Brickyard 400 Pace Car Z28 Camaro. My Dad also had a few Iroc Z28 Camaros along the way. I learned to drive on his lap in a 3rd Gen Camaro. I fell in love with the V8 sound because of a 3rd Gen Camaro. Sadly, my Dad died in 1996 due to issues related to alcoholism. My father was a great man, but he wasn't able to kick the habit. It truly was an addiction that ended up taking his life. So - In honor of my Dad I have never been drunk, nor have I ever overdrank all the years of my life. I decided when my father died that when I turned 21 I would be responsible. I live a clean and healthy life so that I can be around longer than he was. My hope is that one day I'll be able to purchase a clean 3rd Gen Camaro and drive it in memory of my Dad. Perhaps I'll leave it stock, perhaps I'll modify it. Either way I'd like to one day have a 3rd Gen Camaro in my life. Also - In honor of my father - I will never sacrifice my family's needs to have an unnecessary "dream car". If at some point in the future it works out that will be great. If I never have the finances to do it at least I can think of my Dad while I watch cool videos like this one. Thanks to you, David - And thanks to you, Detroit Speed. You both helped me remember the good times.
Meah anyone can destroke a ls7
I'm soooooo happy that you got to drive the DSE Camaro! That thing is an absolute beast! 😎
I love how the hood meets the front clip flawlessly. Nice work there 👌👌👌
Seeing this in my feed made my day. Im sure you can figure out why!
When driving your hero doesn't disappoint you
My first car was a v6 85 Camaro. This thing is so awesome! So good to see that it can be just as bad a** as I remember the IROC-Z was back in the day.
It warms my heart seeing one like that. Sounds incredible too
I've never driven a fast car but Thatdudeinblue makes me want to experience it.
I would love to see Detroit Speed do something with a C4 Corvette. Those have hit the easiest to obtain Corvette but a lot of the aftermarket has been like pulling teeth or hodge podging stuff together. I feel like its also a sign that the OG LT1 is dead.
Yeah, the LT1 is an excellent motor, it sounds amazing and the torque comes on immediately.
The OG LT1 was in the C3 and the gen 2 LT1 wasn't the only engine the C4 came with.
The Gen 2 SBC LT1 is easily GM's most underrated engine.
@@lb9gta307 Right, It did have the L98 all the way until 92.
@@DannySauer I think people are just afraid of the opti at this point. Tuning is also easier with coil packs so I do understand why.
Just picked up a 1991 Z28 brand new pretty much it has only 38,000 miles on it about to replace the Tune Port engine to LS7 took but I'm going super charged, I'm so happy to come across this video 🤘🏿
this is my favorite camaro build of all time. I remember seeing this for the first time on hoonigan
This reminds me of a 79 Mercury Capri with a 302 that revs to 10,000 RPM I saw a few weeks ago.
SO COOL !!!
SO COOL !!!
This engine would be perfect for the C8 zo6.
z06 is getting a high revving 5.5l engine albeit dohc
I would rather have this car, or have this engine in my C5 Corvette, the C8 sucks!! It looks nothing like a corvette!
@@jimmycline4778 shut up. nobody cares what you think.
@@jimmycline4778 the c8 fulfills Zora's wish for the corvette to be rear mid engined. It finally respects the creator's wish :)
He only says it sucks because there isn’t a true manual option
Bad ass man! I use to have an 89 black IROC-Z. Never should of sold it. I want one now. It would be a great project car. Old school, not something with iPad inside. Man, brings back good memories.
Love this car, saw it at Goodguys back in 2018 in Scottsdale. The video doesn't do the sound of the LS7 justice. It has definitely inspired me to build my 4th gen SS.
I remember seeing this car at the good guys show crazy sound
This is easily a $70-80,000 car on the low end, probably more like $100-125,000 with all labor taken into consideration.
It’s a 3rd gen $4500 max
@@kylejohnson3892 even 3rd gens are coming up in price. Nice ones anyway. Still people trying to sell rollers with trashed interior for $8500 though 😂
That engine is like 30+ thousand on its own
This was it, back before I entered HS. I loved the body lines on this. Later on a buddy of mine had one that I helped wire his sound system and got a chance to drive it. Definitely not as cool as this one but man I wanted to listen to all Metal while driving it. Do a video montaje with Motley Crüe, Kickstart my Heart. Pretty sure the guys at the shop have the song on repeat come Friday afternoon. Kick ass build.
My dad has a 1992 25th Anniversary Edition Camaro and its slow as hell but so much fun. This Iroc is badass.
00:17
I love the 3rd gen Camaro they usually just don’t have any power but I’ve always wanted to build one with a LS motor
You won't regret it. I put an LS1 in my Iroc and it's so much fun. If you get a pullout from a 4th gen it is stupid easy.
You should definitely review my ls swapped 78 camaro when it’s done next year, bought it from my fiancé’s dad and it was all rust, restoring the whole thing with a pro touring spin on it
I’ve spent the last 12 years putting my 89 IROC together. & at 32 years old I’ve been made fun of, told I was nuts for putting money into a mullet mobile. I just got done installing and tuning the LY6 6.2 ls (Escalade engine) with a pair of rear mount turbos and 4l80e. I’ve also done a street eibach suspension, 5th gen Camaro brakes, subframe connectors, built 9 bolt bw rear with 3.27 gears, and I’m about to start on the paint / body work. Long and short is seeing this car has renewed my energy for the project and I can’t express how happy I am seeing something like this being built by a company like this, thank you guys so much well done
Nice bro im going lsa , My LS2 is oly temporarily took me 3 years on my channel
Duuude this has to be one of the coolest camaros I’ve ever seen; by far the coolest 3rd gen
I beg you to please upload just the extra outside clips from this drive. No voiceovers just engine. Pleeeeeeease!
I got the perfect recipe...I'm starting out with a assembly line mint 91 to take on the same type of build...can't wait for the magic to happen!...my favorite Camaro is the DSE-Z...can't wait to make the phone call to to them so I can send my car out and have the build process started...then it will be bounced around to other companies to have the drivetrain installed etc...i can't wait to enjoy the same experience!
My GOD this is such a perfect build.
A classic car that is updated and perfected with modern technology.
All I can do now is dream about building one EXACTLY like that
This makes me regret selling my 25th anniversary edition Camaro. It had a Cammed 350 t5 with endless suspension upgrades
Ugh it was totaled when I got it and I finished the body work. After 4 years she was ready for paint. Then I went through divorce last year and sold it to keep my house.
It was my dream car. I was born in 91 and I loved these cars as a kid.
I want to have one again but the timing is wrong. These cars will never be affordable again. In 5 years time they'll be 10k for a non rusty DD.
If anyone has a solid body Camaro with the ground effects in tact let me know. I'm in ND but would travel for the right one. Doesn't need to run. Just needs a good trans/axle/body.
I've got a couple of old videos on my Camaro on my channel if you guys want to see my old survivor
I hope it gets better for u.
I got 3 of them 2 are 91's and a convertible hmu..
@@mitchellwilliams4242 where are you located?
Do you have more info on the vert? I would be more interested in that if the top is in working order.
They're 10 for a decent driver right now what you mean lol
LOVE that he really let you rip on it!!! That thing is WICKED...
Bought one of these in 85 and never could part with it. Enjoy driving it to this day. Wish it sounded like the one in this video.
I need a raise to build up a third gen now lol. I had a 91 T/A GTA that my dad gave me as my first car lol although it was free I spent thousands to get it road worthy. Miss it ... Detroit Speed is genius for showing these cars love. Maybe I'll be a future customer lol.
totaly missed this upload, that thing is AWESOME! I don't like LS stuff that much but I want that engine.
Yes!!! I have been waiting since the vette!!! This car is just perfect what more could you want!
Hands down one of the nicest 3rd gens I’ve ever seen. Absolute gorgeous car.
I had an 89 IROC-Z TPI LT 350 chipped & it was a fun quick car. But I'm a Mustang guy. I've owned a few GT Mustang's an 05, 13, 15, regretted getting rid of my grabber blue 13 for my 15 though. Because in my opinion 13-14 Mustang's are definitely the coolest all around. Today I have 14 Yellow Label Saleen Mustang #25 of 25 & I absolutely love it. I'm keepin this one.
Some day my 3rd gen bird will be this nice... In process of paint right now. Good video David! These cars are going to go up in value now...
Yep , Glad i got mine
There's a lot of awesome on that car, but that roll cage install is a great, visible testament to how awesome their workmanship really is.
Heyyy this was on Hoonigan, thought it was badass then, glad to see David reviewing it.
Now I wish I had kept my 89... 😆 That's wicked! Amazing sound and ride!
This video makes me appreciate my 89 IROC even more! Dont see them in good condition now a days.
Sounds like a voodoo and an ls had a one night stand and 9 months later this glorious noise popped out
Omg what a beautiful sound this car makes! Always wanted a 3rd gen.
When I saw this on Hoonigan auto focus some time back I was like...omg...sickest 3rd gen EVER. They are dead on...when I was in grade school, moving toward high school there was a red 3rd gen camaro in either Super Chevy (iirc) and this guy did a rare build then, which was chassis stiffening, road course style (figure this was early 90's). I always thought about that build, where they said they supported the chassis on three corners, and the unsupported corner only sagged 1/16 of an inch. When I saw this car, it was probably the first 3rd gen that excited me SINCE seeing that car. I had an 86 Trans Am in 1997...slow pig, but awesome body lines. Ended up building forced induction Honda's for the next 10yrs, then got into BMW's and Corvettes and tube chassis stuff in 2010's. I'd LOVE to build a 3rd gen T/A widebody...it's on my list after I finish this Z06 3D print widebody project.
I am so happy u uploaded this I an building a 84 Camaro myself
The exhaust note is just perfect
These were some of the best looking Camaros surprised you don’t see more of these modded.
I’ve never wanted one of these but man this one is special!!
Really Glad David got a chance to drive it..Pro touring v8 all motor will eventually make you sick of JDM imports as you get older.
Id take a almotor 4rotor 🤣
I love that it's fast and the interior isn't gutted.
ive been a 3rd gen F-Body fanatic since ive own my 1st one in 2011 i was 17. 3 3rd gen later and 2 for pats and 2 4th gen as donor.
i own a 85 Hardtop 5.3L T56 4.10 rear end. it goes nice. mine is great shape original dash.
up here in Québec, Canada there is alot of clean 3rd gen and rare gem like the original 1LE and R7U.
Built mine on my channel with a ls2
my mom had an 85' brand new, i got to drive it ONCE......it didnt sound like that. But my love continues, I had a 2017 SS 1LE and just got rid of my 2019 SS 1LE, both amazing cars.
Wow....sounds amazing! Awesome build!
This car is absolutely stunning I would love to build a motor like this
Amazing camero. My dad owns a 86 camero 383 stroker fully done up. But it definitely needs a 6spd manual and changed up to look like the Detroit speed one
Meah , TZ-NATION87s is starting too look better as it continues to grow
Another car added to my bucket list to own or build one day....👀
I've loved this car since they showed it glad you reviewed it
the shots, the transitions 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
That stance is absolutely perfect . This is how you stance a car ❤🔥🔥🔥
My dream car. Wish my past one sounded this good.
every time i click on a video i think to myself, “david we love you.” this is awesome
Probably my only favorite Camaro and I just love everything done to this
Meah
Goosebumps. What a sound!
That’s awesome and sounds absolutely amazing!
Omg mom ! He finally has a Chevy review !!! 🤟🏾🔥
Awesome car. Had a 98 IrocZ with a 350 that was mint. Wish I still had it.
Beautiful and rowdy, love a high revving V8 on top of all that!
