Thanks! But Im not even trying to be funny. Just saying whatever comes to mind haha. I hope these tips help people while also giving me ideas for future builds of my own :)
@@Jayztwocents can you make more of these kind of videos? It's so fun to watch lol
@FreshCookiemix so funny🙄

I'm totally roasting nebula next, Jay!

"Who built this, The Verge???"
...ah, the gift that keeps on giving.
Lol. I definitely care more about performance than looks.
@@DarkSwordsman Yeah, I agree with that. But The Verge build was done so poorly, it was both bad at looks AND performance. It was put together breathtakingly inefficiently.
@@DarkSwordsman True, it DID boot onto Windows, and ran LOL at 60fps.
If u budget is small u focus on performance if u have a larger budget you can focus more on looks

I thought so too😂😂

@@spaghettiupseti9990 Ham...Roast.....Uhmmmmmm.
@@spaghettiupseti9990 like I said because kyles is a complete comedy roast. He in reality is perfectly happy with the builds. Jay always has something crappy to say about stuff . He's an ass .
Yeah I've noticed that too. He literally COPIES everything Kyle does. It's really starting to get annoying to be honest.
Kyle as in bitwite?
12:29 Damn you Phil, square route of ANS is all I can see now.
As an audio engineer, very impressed by Jay's knowledge of acoustic treatment
Yeah, foam is the devil.
I like how "The Verge" is now an adjective to describe a terribly built PC
If the boot fits
Dont verge it
well, it's on the verge of not working.
"The Verge" is not so eloquently used interchangeably for any number of life's gaffs.
I kind of feel sorry for the guy in that video. Can you imagine going through life and the main thing you'll ever be known for is doing a shit job of making a PC?
Jay: “what human can’t whistle? What adult can’t whistle?”
Me: *blowing air, not doing it right, tearing up*
It took me a long time to learn how to whistle. WORK on it, flex those lips till you find what works for you! It takes some MUCH longer than others, but don't give up!

"I'm starting to think I'm a rare breed that cares about matching panels"
**Proceeds to look at my setup, which consists of 3 completely separate brands of monitors of differing color, quality, size and heights**
Those two were actually the same monitor (AFAICT), just at slightly different heights. I do that too when I'm using multiple monitors with Windows, because it lowers the Fitts distance to the close button of a maximized window on the left screen and to the Start menu on the right screen, as long as you tell the OS that the right monitor is slightly lower than the left one.
I really enjoyed hearing Phil's input and just the conversation between you two. It works really well for these videos. A themed thing would be nice because then we don't have to hear you say: 'cable manage!'like a broken record.
Jay: "Flip the socket"
Me as a european: "?"
turn the socket plate 180, not sure if you can do it on the continent but you can with a UK socket
@@nphil93992 he meant that we Europeans don't need to do that coz we can just plug it in upside down coz the socket is the same hahaha
@@nphil93992 with the euro socket you can plug upside down and it will work the same. No need to flip the socket.
@@nphil93992 I think he meant some european style plugs that had ground on the side instead of a separate hole for it. So you can always flip the plug 180 degrees since it's AC and it doesn't matter which way you feed the live wire in.
Thanks all for letting me know, hadn't thought of that.
Your attention to detail and your insight to things that no one really pays attention to are perfect for this type of reviewer content. I love how you give constructive advice in hopes to actually help people not only maximize their actual builds, but maximize the potential of the surroundings as well. Keep it up. Wish I could do these things with my 10-year old set up.
As a sound engineer, i love the fact you pointed out the isolating pads and the rug on one of the setups, my producer heart warmed up when you mentioned that stuff :D
Oh hey, that's my setup with the webcam set up for Magic at 6:15! Yeah, the stand is a bit short for webcam Magic - it lives behind the monitor when I'm not playing Magic - but it works in this case because there's black space in the middle of the Spelltable layout anyway.
As you figured out, it's essentially a Zoom call where me and three friends all have our webcams pointed at our tabletops and we're playing with our own setups in front of us. We all follow a Twitch streamer who does the same thing, and earlier this year - for obvious reasons - a while bunch of us got interested in making our own setups for playing Magic without leaving our house.
Props on playing Kamahl as your commander, he is an all time favorite of one of my local players.
Dude I didn't even know this was a thing, that's so damn cool!
I hope one day you'll be able to play card games with AR tech so that you can get little 3D models of the cards to pop up during play, and the attacks actually happening.
Definitely like the category suggestions.

I just came to comment that xD
Exactly this
I'm just lucky my US plugs can rotate
The type F is nice, but you have to remember that a lot of places in Europe use the E type socket that has the same issue.
@@phenomanII you seem very adamant about that E-type socket, as a European I've seen it like once in my life on a weird power strip at work, literally everyone uses the F-type
Love your vids. Learned a lot from you this past year.
At 16:25 that's what's so great about our plugs here in Europe. We can have the cables running both up or down without flipping the wall plug itself
funny you said something about "Kindergarden Cop" My father was a cook for the cast of the movie and him and my mother were extras
Damn, hollywood chef. Nice
Yo that movie was dope back in the day haha

16:37 "flip this socket over" laugs in european lmao imagine having to flip the whole socket just to rotate your cable 180 degrees
16:15
I just wondered why he doesn't just put the cable in the other way around, then I realised how nice European wall plugs are lol
If you want your computer grounded not all European sockets would just work though
We're just that much better :pogGasm:
i think most of the world , not just europe
maybe it's US wall plug thing
I'm totally roasting nebula next, Jay!
That is a US wall outlet (110-120v 15A-20A) and would be a three pronged plug that only goes in one way. He would have to turn the outlet like jay said @ 16:20 and the outlet could be upside down, per local code anyway or maybe not
Always waiting for a mention of "The Verge" everytime I watch a fan pc reaction video. Still funny as hell.
Why do you have top comment
@ 21:52 I love this setup, exactly you don't need the latest hardware to compare, i think this is by far one of the cleanest build.

@Rusty00 I was able to whistle when I was 8. And even now I can whistle perfectly without practicing for a second
I can only whistle breathing in, I haven't figured it out the other way lol
I do enjoy the constructive criticism more than Kyle's savagery😂
I like Kyle and Jay. Kyle plainly says it's all for laughs and when it's all for laughs I feel like some savagery is completely fine. Also, didnt the PC photos kyle used get sent in by viewers solely for getting roasted?
I agree
Kyle is the male version of a Karen... and that Kyle.... yeah... he's a douche.

"flip the socket"
Europeans over here be like: whut
*Edit: I'm from Germany, forgot only a few countries use the wall sockets we have here. It's the pig nose looking socket that allows you to just flip the plug
Ikr? Just flip the plug!

Flipping the socket shouldn't be that hard, flipping the board/housing will do.
Might as well flip the wall while you're at it
@@bhew7409 no, it doesn't
Jay - "kill the power and flip the plug"
Me - laughs in standard European plug
haha same, it took me a minute to realize why he made it seems like such a big thing to do, I was like, just take it out and flip it.
6:45 If they were using spell table it's both. It's like zoom call but then you can click on someone's board and it will auto detect what card it is and look it up for you to save in a history folder off to the side to help keep track of what people played.
Ha!...the second build...the reloading press on the edge of the desk...priceless
Yep. I do it a lot.
Jay : I'm not going to roast because i'm not that guy

I really like the setup with the dude who had the Magic Gathering cards. I'm biased, I have the same case and its a hotbox for me, but man does it look clean when done right!
I just noticed this in the zombie setup at 7:52 it show the led bottle but those are the abilities that’s you can get in cod zombies. This guy is so smart
Idea for next time's theme:
Janky solutions for GPU sag.
oh my god yes please do this
go to the back of the case, search where the metal "fingers" of the gpu i/o plate slot through the case, put something (small screw) in the slot above the gpu metal to push it down -> opposite side goes up, no more sag
Zip ties, the end.
I use a toilet roll XD
I cut a small piece of wood of the perfect size and drilled it with a screw in my case, probably not the cleanest setup but it works and anyway i havent bothered to change my case in 12 years so i just care about functionality at this point
I love how you nailed "Der Herr der Ringe" first try... I'm impressed :-D Greetings from Germany

7:25 the bottles are from COD and lit up properly for their functions from the game. That’s so cool
“Who built this, the Verge?” Is now my go to question whenever I see a bad build.
As a suggestion for a specific "genre" of build review, I'd love to see a function/utility over form theme.
the keyboard at 9:30 is a 2011 limited edition razer black widow with cherry mx blues and blue backlighting not RGB. that thing is a gem.
The sim rig setup was nice. For me the best sim rig setup is VR AND triple screen. VR is a bit of a pain if you take part in endurance races or if you want to hangout on discord, racing with friends online, having a few beers etc. Super-wide setups like triple screen will likely always have a place in sim racing.

I know i'm late but that magic setup one, when the vid hit all the regional and store tournaments moved online discord or otherwise. It's actually great i've met a ton of new people to play cards with over cam, only problem is you gotta trust your opponent not to cheat. We always had rules to where your hand has to be always visible in the cam, so i made a habit of just putting my hand down when it wasn't my turn.
16:30
Step 1: Kill power at the breaker box for that plug or room.
Step 2: Use a Flathead screwdriver to remove the cover screw.
Step 3: Use a Phillips to remove the top and bottom screws from the outlet box
Step 4: pull out the outlet and swap the wires on the left side with the wires on the right side. Be careful not to unscrew the ground wires and do not mix up white and black wires.
Step 5: Put it all back together in its new upside down position with the ground prongs facing up.

16:15 You could avoid that problem if you have a EU plug.
This should 100% be a once a month thing! Love it!
When he was talking about flipping the outlet where he could have that white cord flipped, technically that’s how they are supposed to be installed based on current electrical code, so best way to explain this, the two eyes need to be on the bottom with the mouth (which is the grounding) needs to be on top when installed, so it would be legal for him to flip it but he would need to flip the rest of them
9:53 Jay's got his Shwarzenegger references mixed up. The cookie reference is from Jingle all the Way.
