I cable managed my tower, not to absurd lengths but just so the front of it looks nice. Everything of course being crammed behind the back panel but at least that way I can easily trace the wires. I was originally going to do it a bit neater but my full tower is more like a super tower and some of wires just aren't long enough to travel around the case lol. My desk is a cheap Walmart piece of crap but works but is cable managing that will be a nightmare especially with how my outlets in my room are set up. Acoustic treatment is not always about removing all reflections, more about managing the reflections and in the case of the sloped roof setup the sound would be bouncing around at those angles as opposed to a uniform box room where each reflection is more likely to have multiple instances going back and forth the same walls. Sound treatment in rooms with unorthodox angles is easier to achieve successful results. Having that angle for the sound to bounce reduces the likelihood of sound waves bouncing around and get to the microphone.

Two ways navy uniforms wear decorations, what they call “top three” or “full.” I think the top three decorations is better when you are in daily operations. If you are wearing all your decorations then it’s some sort of an official ceremony or in a place that warrants everyone in that area to wear all their decorations too.
Jay, just a quick heads up on the ribbons on the uniform. In the Navy (not sure about other branches), we are authorized to wear only our top 3 ribbons if desired. You will see a lot of the old salts that have a crazy stack just wear the top 3 because they don't want to walk around with all the bling every day. They will typically only bust out the whole stack for more formal events.
19:52. I agree with Phil. I grabbed a 980 Ti for $250 used in very good condition and I've been game streaming on it for a month now with no issues @1080p60
Jay about 15:30 intake fans are only concerned with the air that they can pull in it's effective range... So like 5-10cm in front of them they are not pulling air from meters away that is getting replenished by atmospheric pressure. You can limit fan performance by restricting air intake in close proximity to the fan but Case will never run out of air Infront of it. I would worry more about exhaust in closed space like that it's very likely that not all of the hot air is leaving it but recirculating.
I agree a video on how to properly set up a room with light to shoot a video is a great idea. I see this as an peice of an art all on its own. I been struggling with light myself on my channel
Jay is the reason I have redesigned my room. Watching his videos makes me think of my dad always telling me to clean my room. I was like damn, my dad is on youtube still telling me to clean my room!
YES, do a video with advice about lighting setups! As an experienced engineer, I've enjoyed and concurred with your audio advice. BUT photography and video production are not areas where I have any background. My low-buck streaming setup needs extra lighting for my cheap camera's cheap sensor. I'd love some advice on how to mitigate that glare. I can't make it from my bed to the crapper in the morning without my glasses, so they have to be on while the camera rolls.

The case with the motherboard having I/O's up is the darkFlash V22. It's the case I use. I wanted something a bit different and ordered the white case like they used. However, I masked the exterior off and painted all the interior surfaces black. Then I made a power supply shroud out of copper and patinaed it (since the case doesn't have one).

One thing I may add. I am not a successful streamer, but I passionate about technology. I use a all core boosted 9700k and 3080 founders, but even with this setup, OBS using the nVenc encoder is less capable than using my razer blade laptop externally working as a streamer device on CPU encoding, allowing no compromise on the desktop gaming performances. Now, why the comment? Because everybody talks about having to use capturing video cards and other expensive hardware... I do it much cheaper! I use the regular OBS on the desktop and installed the NDI add on, so that OBS is used to stream the video and audio over the local network on NDI, using almost no resources. Then, on the laptop I use Streamlabs OBS with the NDI source on the video setup, which takes the NDI feed... Job done 😀 without extra cables, capture cards etc. The Razer Blade is purely using its 6 cores for the streaming, allowing consistent streaming quality no matter the game played. Ideallyif you have the space, you could use a desktop pc with no GPU and just an half decent few years old CPU as a streaming device

9:35 as someone who has had his room for over 30 years under a (very well insulated) roof, faced to the south: you really shouldn't be jealous. It's excruciatingly hot and our summers don't even get California hot.
15:00 Probably, you could split the area around the PC case in 2, where intake is on the right side compartment, and the top and rear exhaust are in the left side compartment. A board sits on top of the front of the case, preventing air from circulating back to the front. If you have about the width of half your case behind the drawers to the wall, that should be enough of a 'window' for the fans to pull in enough air. At minimum it should be half the fan width; given the desk is a little higher than the case. On the left side, convection should have the hot air leaking out the top and cooler air flowing in through the bottom. It should be fine.
13:12 It's generic mic mount that comes with example cheaper end TONOR XLR microphones etc.. really bad, wont hold mic sometimes at rotational position (the arm it self seems to hold position fine)

Too bad I keep missing the chance to submit my setup, but if I could get it submitted in time it would definitely leave jaws on the floor. Not because it’s a full room setup, but the level of cable management I have done to my desk is insane!
When it comes to cable management how do you deal with needing super long usb cables. i daily a obutto revolution with triple monitors and ive tried and tried and it is not easy on this hting.
Foam wedges are not basstraps! You'd actually be better off with the flat absorber panels with insulation wrapped in fabric in the corners... if they're at least 4 inches thick and put floor to ceiling diagonally in the corners. 6 to 8 (or more) inches deep is better. If money is no issue then you could try actual tuned basstraps. But for vocals 4 to 6 inch deep flat panels across all corners and a couple on the walls are plenty fine. If you want to know more, a good place to start for example is 'Acoustic treatment 101'.
I plan on building a computer room eventually, in my dad's barn,(I know, don't flame me for living at home at age 34 especially in the current climate) and it's going to be primarily lit by LED Strips all around the ceiling, (on at least 3 sides) with possibly some kind of matrix digital rain style wallpaper on the walls in the back end where my computer will be located, along with some kind of green/ice blue LED light strips on the rear of my workbench surface, which will be either an L shaped desk, or else multiple desks set up in an L shape when I get done with building the room, which will be an inch or two off the wall, with a small ledge underneath, with a backsplash, in case I need to hide cables for computers I'm working on, behind the desk...
We need the StarWars meme for the "if you want the best sound" moments, like: -Reacting to your stream setups -You mean just the PC parts, right? -... -Right?
My biggest problem with the "overdone" cable management is that troubleshooting often turns into complete disassembly of your setup.

Nvidia Broadcast will get rid of almost all background noise. Also now has an echo reducer that is in beta.
Kills the audio quality tho
@@spazmagoog so fck ngreedia
Yep, comes with the typical noise cancelling artifacts making you sound like a weird robot
@@spazmagoog Me and my gaming buddy both use it. He says I sound weird, but he sounds perfect. I think the mic quality matters.
@@ark_knight I haven't experienced any of this. Neither has anyone I know who uses it. Maybe you are using it incorrectly, turning the effect too high?
thank you jay .
please do a tutorial on how to use lighting correctly
fell like some either over do it and look alien
or people look like there in a constant sunset .
love the channel
"If you live in an apartment or a rental home you're not going to drill holes in the walls." Of course not, while looking at my 8 rather large floating shelves holding my Legos.
YES! Make a lighting and positioning video for live streaming and video/images!
I learned a lot from the setups in this video on what not to do. I hope by next year Jay, I'll submit my setup after I move and blow your mind.
That Admiral Jay wallpaper is legend
Q: How many medals and ribbons can you hang on your uniform?
Random Soviet General: Da!
Admiral Jay:
Enjoyable video. LOL I see a ladder, some old tires, some newer tires, an industrial shelf, concrete wall...
A lighting video sounds great Jay👍
13:43 That looks like a Neewer style arm and mic kit.
Love these videos, keep it up JayzTwoCents Team!
That one at 16:40 is Hella dope
That admiral bit was hilarious!
I'm always waiting for these vids
Jay... I have to say, I've really come to appreciated the audio quality on your channel. One of the few I can actually listen to on my laptop without haven't to crank the volume to 80+. So many RUclips channels these days are recording their vids at levels that are so freaking low it's annoying, and I've just quit watching a lot of them as a result.
Had a reverb problem. Nailed a comforter to the wall. Done and done.
I was waiting for this! Love this series
I like watching jay, roasting set ups. Wish i have my own too, so it can be roasted too hahaha
Nice video stream Jayz love yer honesty and respectful replies to Folks Setups, our desk isn't the best as not only do we have pc bits but my Amateur radio setup is there also in a very small room. We are moving the setup into a bigger room when I can get parts fer the new pc build. Appreciate yer advice of setting up the desktop keep up the good work Greetings from across the pond
Do a studio tour!
Love this series
love the idea of a lighting video.. also hate to ask this but since there was a flood of 6600xt and 6700xt hitting the market would you consider doing a amd wattman software overclocking video for the new builders?
"Rear" Admiral Jay.... 🤣🤣
thank you guys so much for the help in setting up and getting a bonus with setting up a World of Warships account. I actually love the game its very fun. Thx guys. I like the exiter.
I love this series!
11:49 No no no Jay that's a DD1 or a DD2 lol. The new CSL DD is like half that size.
Please make that video about properly lighting a streaming setup.
Not sure how you plan on upgrading your setup, but looking at upgrading to either an Acer Predator X38 or the Alienware AW3821DW monitor.
Would like to see a review on one or both of them.
Watching pc build vids finally made me give in and I bought the VYBE | RTX 3080 with AMD 5900X. Now I’ll be eating ramen for the rest of the year.
Love these type of vids guys! I've recently subscribed to you on Itch. Can't always catch the streams live, but I do watch them on the back nine and they are great. 👌
It's okay Jay, we use outdated antiquated height measurements in the UK as well. All feet and inches over here, except for literally anything except for humans
THANK YOU JAY!!!!!! I agree 100% with you on free advertising. If you were good enough to get a sponsorship and your already advertising for said company, why in the world would they actually sponsor you? or me, or anybody?? silly lol
It’s weird going into an ad without any explosions now
Yessssaa!! I’ve been streaming a ton of phasmophobia as well! What a fun game w/ friends😆🤣💀
Jay: You and I are of the same age, we grew up in an era of monolithic broadcast companies with the occasional local community pro-am or enthusiast broadcast group. Looking at these stream set ups; any regional or community broadcasters could only dream of these facilities. I can't help but feel we are in a golden age of public access broadcasting. These are the best times no?
my set up needs an upgrade, audio still a blue yeti, in a small room were I am not allow to put sound damping up (then they complain about the noise), graphic card needs an upgrade from 1060. using software encoding due to 3950x and its all running on one stream, got a few ring lights too and a greenscreen
Too bad I keep missing the chance to submit my setup, but if I could get it submitted in time it would definitely leave jaws on the floor. Not because it’s a full room setup, but the level of cable management I have done to my desk is insane!
Ok
When it comes to cable management how do you deal with needing super long usb cables. i daily a obutto revolution with triple monitors and ive tried and tried and it is not easy on this hting.
cant wait for the setup vid!
9:37 totally looks like a synthwave image
I'd definitely watch a video on lighting a setup (from around 16:40 in the video)
In regards to the navy ribbons;
In the us navy, were authorized to wear our top 3 ribbons if you have a lot
We need the StarWars meme for the "if you want the best sound" moments, like: -Reacting to your stream setups -You mean just the PC parts, right? -... -Right?
