So the fact that Malzeno gets its power by essentially stealing the Qurio from Gaismagorm is really cool.
Not only is it well explained in game as they are rivals for territory, but it mirrors the original myth of Dracula getting his power from the Devil.
The theme fits so perfectly and it slaps on top of that. Truly a theme fitting for the Archdemon of the Abyss.

I’m impressed with how much of a doomsday monster they made this monster feel it’s music, it’s design to the point that it gave me king gidorah vibes of this monster isn’t from our world dimension even this thing hands down has impressed me with final boss design
I wasn't expecting this guy to use meteor attacks but here I am enjoying the fight but not over hunting so I'm not burnt-out or bored of him. His armor set is really goated too and its clean asf (buddies included)
As a Christian, slaying Gaismagorm felt all the more satisfying.

This monster I feel is inspired by a demon (duh) and the kraken and the theme feels very oceany
It’s based on the Devil. Abbadon had a swarm of giant carnivorous locusts (the Qurio), the Devil is associated with 666 (Gaismagorm’s limb count and horn count are both 6), Lucifer fell from Heaven (a part description for the wing-arms says “with no hint of the divine heights they once knew.”), some goats have spiral horns(obvious connection), the Abyss represents Hell, the Devil gave Dracula their power (Malzeno got stronger from the Qurio, who originally belonged to Gaismagorm), and Gaismagorm’s head forms a pentagram topped with a goat-horned head when the mouth is open.
@@johncronk8867 and for the ocean-y vibe there is a painting for your room you can buy from the Argosy that shows Giasmagorm like an ocean-type king, he's a brighter blue color and his wing hands are represented by golden star fish. That could just be for the ecology thing tho since it also has to be a functioning animal on top of being a horror/western inspired boss battle

I know Capcom wasn't planning on making any new Black Dragons but this reeeaaallly feel like a black dragon level threat. I mean, this thing did major damage to the kingdom previously without even surfacing (due to the plague caused by the Qurio) Like, if it escaped the under ground it could wipe out numerous civilizations in a day right? Like am I just overestimating this thing or...?
I think it’s actual level of power fluctuates based on how much it can consume. When it just emerged from the abyss, it was probably only on the same level as Malzeno because it didn’t dare emerge while Malzeno was active. If it successfully emerged into the surface world, it may have become a continental threat due to a near unlimited food source allowing for it to create more Qurio, enabling it to harvest even more life and leading to a feedback loop that won’t end until the entire country is consumed.
@@hubanjanath3265 that's true, so I guess it would only be a true threat if it got out of control. The Elder Dragon title shall suffice

@@hubanjanath3265 i feel like sayin that he didnt "dare emerge while Malzeno was active" is a huge stretch. Its likely Gaismagorm was simply in a hibernation state after consuming all the life energy in the surrounding area and Malzeno was maybe in a symbiotic relationship (being that Gaismagorm cannot fly while Malzeno can and can cover alot more distance) with him where Malzeno gets to use the Qurios to feed but also bring it energy for Gaismagorm explaining why Malzeno disappears for certian times. it fits the theme of the Devil and Dracula. so after we slayed Malzeno we broke that chain and literally stirred a bigger beast's rampage as he now had too send more Qurios out to consume more, and its possible he was on the verge of a comeback before we took down Malzeno

Not bad. I’m pretty sure that if I’d had to fight him alone I’d crumble pretty damn quickly but I had a good party that made it so I could put up a proper fight.
@@chrishale7480 I soloed him like I did the entire game I was kinda struggling for the challenge I wanted but I had fun with the 4 new monsters and 3 returning ones

Rating the fight. I said ibushi fight in rampage mode was better presentation even with his final fight.
Bgm is the usual He is the true evil supposedly ancient exist before elder dragon but the fight barely not that fun or action pack. Ibushi and narwa medley far too elegant than this boss fight.
