For a variant (doesn't make it any less cool), Raging Brachydios has one absolute hell of a theme. Sounds like something you'd hear on an elder, hell, even a black dragon.
I love how people keep talking like Black Dragons have these exceptionally different themes. I mean, come on, Fatalis's t heme is literally Verdant Hills with a chorus.
The actual construction of his name is Brachial: the name of a muscle in your arm, and obsidian: a dark glassy crystal formed from the intense distortion experienced by carbon due to rapid cooling of lava. Raging Brachy basically became an Elder Dragon in my eyes when his Immortal Reactor went haywire and started melting the entire area after his Star Platinum moment. The only other things that could even kill him would be a Elder Dragon, The Black Dragons or us. He truly ascended in that final stand.
I have yet to fight him, but the power and vocals in the music really show the power behind this absolute powerhouse of a monster, this Brachydios that has lived such a long and hard life that it has taken on the Flashpoint slime, this monster being so determined to kill you that it’s pushing its body beyond its limit and hurting itself every time it uses its slime in its final arena.
Man, I was playing with a buddy'o mine, getting rekt by this monster twice in a row, and then we got serious. Man. The intensity. This fight is genrally the best fight in the entire game, not just the music but the feeling you get once youre in the final phase of the fight. You essentially cornered a desperate animal that has nothing left to lose, he traps you in with him and its kill or be killed, he will throw anything and everything in its disposal to win and it forces you to do the same. It gives this monster so much more personality and more realism because a wild animal would do this exact thing
@@christianmartinez2321 me too, He was the reason why i did my game music louder xD I absolut love brachy, powerfull, nice fight overall and perfekt music :D
I don't often get scared while fighting a monster. Today, I have fought and defeated this guy for the very first time. When he started beating the shit out of the floor, the exits became closed off, I was on my last cart and THIS started playing... I felt sheer fucking terror.
Remember! Just because something isn't an Elder doesn't mean it's not On the same Level. Ahtal Ka is a Neopteron, and this absolute Unit is a Brute Wyvern. But both could go toe to toe with Elders.
I feel like this whole fight along with the music is a story unique to Brachydios. And not just any Brachy. The one you defeated the first time in Iceborne. You basically just carve the shell and external stuff from Brachydios so it could be a cool concept to consider. Especially considering the cutscene where you manage to down Velkana but she rises again seemingly growing an armor of ice around her. Also, with Shara Ishvalda where he gets downed but he comes back to life. Brachy manages to gather the strength to go off somewhere safe(Guiding Lands) to recover and mend his wounds. He goes into the Volcanic Region where he discovers a new, more volatile type of slime where he goes through the same rite of passage that he went through in his infant stage along with repairing his pounders with the ore residing in the Guiding Lands volcanic region, also utilizing ores in the forest region thats closest to the Wildspire region(where you see him first). He spends a considerable while growing in size and honing his new slime to the point where it changes to yellow permanently. If a glob of slime so much as slips off his body and hits the ground, it'll explode in mere seconds. Not only did his strength, size, and utility increase, but his temerament became more volatile than before, mainly due to surviving the last encounter with you. There are no monsters in the Guiding Lands when you take on the quest because he's fought or driven them all off because of his might and terror. Then he sees you... The reason why he has his regular theme when you first fight Raging Brachydios is because its Round 2. Yet, despite his new more powerful form, he fails to prevail against you. He was on his last legs. Yet, he refused to die. When he retreated into that area, he wasn't retreating. He wanted to make sure you go down with him. When Brachy trapped you in that hellish arena he created, he sacrificed everything he was and everything he had in order to become like that of a god in order to defeat you. No longer was he a Brachydios. He was the embodiment of pure, unadulterated rage. Hatred made manifest. The real Brachydios died the moment he delivered that last mighty blow to the ground. Thats why there is silence before this music plays. A horrible tragedy just took place. And in its place... doom.
That... Kinda makes sense The GL makes monster even stronger, giving you unique materials from the monsters, and if you look at the materials, it's not like other monsters like the Raths (Silver Rath Scale, Azure Rath Scale, Rath Scale, etc.), There's not a Raging Brachy Scale, There's no Raging Brachy Pallium, he gives you a f*cking Inmortal Reactor. Yeah, in previous games this doesn't make anysense because There's no Guiding Lands, i get It, but who carts? IB has the Best version of Brachydios, and i love it
And That's why i love this monster, it's not just "Another Variant." When he reaches that last zone and goes nuclear, he locks every exit, and he drops all the slime from His body on the floor, turning the heat in all the place, turning his ebonhide in a darker color, and softening His Shell with all that heat. "If i die, you Will come with me."
After my initial whooping (understatement), I finally returned to the dance and beat him without carting. Made my hours of grinding, and general improvement as a hunter, feel rewarding. An exhilarating fight for sure, and - during the final phase - I got goosebumps as I weaved around him and bonked with my hammer, all to this tour de force music (though I slightly panicked when the battlefield was swamped with pools of explosive slime, thinking I was about to be blown to absolute pieces).
His theme is so well choose, you truly feel that it's the last fight, the final run, a 1V1 to death with no escape. I'm not good with words but you got the idea
I didn't expect that final phase AT ALL. Suddenly i saw the braky hitting the ground, the camera shaking and the music changed. I tried to run to process what just happened and i found the walls. JUST WOW.

Still not on the level of elder dragons. Raging brachy and Rajang are more disaster level, they wreck havoc by being extremely aggressive to anything. Elder dragons are totally on the next level, catastrophe follows where they go just by exisiting. They are basically the representation of gods in MH franchise. If left unchecked rajang / brachy can destroy ecosystems. But ER destroys the land and terrains and everything around

Well, he's not a massive upgrade from base Rajang and in fact is quite similar, almost being more of a divergent versions rather than a full upgrade due to having more ranged attacks.
Hes also alot Easier than normal rajang due to the fact that he uses alot of his new moves more often and they have clear telegraphs unlike normal rajangs moves which can just come out of nowhere
@@Skibbutz In other words, easier in a good way, right? Furious Rajang and Tigrex are the best examples how to make monsters easier without eliminating what made them infamous for, unlike the likes of Diablos.

So, just beat this thing for the fist time. It's one of the only fights in this game I'd describe as exhausting. Legitimately, I had to take a break for an hour or two to cool down from the exhilaration. Excellent fight all around. Potent ranged attacks to punish those who try to draw back and heal, very high mobility for a monster of its size, yet enough openings where it isn't impossible, and of course, it's unique theme. While this only played in the final phase, it truly gave me the feeling of, "It's you or me. Let's finish this, once and for all!" that I live for when playing this game. "Although it's hard to see, a Brachydios's body is entirely covered in slime mold. Most of it is inactive and can't be seen by the naked eye, but the slime mold on its forelegs and horn is active from a special component found in its saliva."
"When enraged, the component found in its saliva will spread to some other parts of its body, causing parts of Brachydios to turn yellow. The slime mold used by Brachydios usually explodes and spreads spores, but, rarely in some cases, it doesn't do that."
"The slime mold that was left behind seeps into the ground and remains dormant, causing it to build up explosive power the longer it is left inactive. The slime mold will become active once again via crustal deformation or a volcanic eruption."
"Young Brachydios are known to gather slime mold left behind by their parents, but the explosions from the slime can seriously injure or even kill them. Some strong Brachydios are known to search for the flashpoint slime, but not many of them survive the slime's explosions."

"Since the explosions its slime produces are more powerful than usual, it needed a stronger shell that could protect it from the impact. Raging Brachydios also has a special organ known as the immortal reactor."
"This organ explosively activates its slime, causing the slime to turn from yellow to orange to red. The immortal reactor allows Raging Brachydios to change the state of its slime at will without needing to become enraged to make it immediately explode."

@@Dabajaws You're right on that.
A common misconception is that immortal = unkillable.
That's not the case, immortal means you're free of mortal/natural vices such as aging or succumbing to ailments/disease. An immortal person can still die to something like a gunshot because a gunshot isn't exactly a "natural" or "mortal" vice.

Captain obvious
Elder dragons feel comfortable being called an “Elder dragon” until they get bloody exploded to ash by raging brachy
Ahtal-ka is crafty.
And in its place... doom.
That... Kinda makes sense
The GL makes monster even stronger, giving you unique materials from the monsters, and if you look at the materials, it's not like other monsters like the Raths (Silver Rath Scale, Azure Rath Scale, Rath Scale, etc.), There's not a Raging Brachy Scale, There's no Raging Brachy Pallium, he gives you a f*cking Inmortal Reactor.

Didnt know i was about to be thrown into a dark souls theme in the beginning, amazing fight also
Coolz
The Brute Wyvern that surpassed the power of an ancient dragon, the only Brute Wyvern that can also alter the environment around it with pure hatred! soo epic!
For those who still play 3u.
Try fighting Dire Miralis with this playing in background.
It even has a leitmotif of his theme at 1:25 (best part btw).
Yurei can you link the parts of the leitmotif, because I don’t hear it
@@atomicwreck2063
It's at 1:25 it does the intro with choirs but with the piano
In the original it's around 0:00 obviosly.
Yurei I’m tryin really hard mate, but I just can’t hear it.
The music that plays when your parents enter the detention room.
I never played monster hunter before, a guy sended me this and now im playing, epic as fuck
You should listen to the Safi'jiiva theme too, is really good!
Best fight of all time. I got Brachy tatted on my arm because this battle and theme absolutely blew me away
Noticed how the quest said "slay" instead of "Hunt", but i didn't expect this fight to be that hard💀
I'm a bit disappointed that we didn't get epic tribal war chanting for furious Rajang.
Honestly dont think vocals would work with Rajang's theme, but i would've loved if it got that one instrument the old one started with
Well, he's not a massive upgrade from base Rajang and in fact is quite similar, almost being more of a divergent versions rather than a full upgrade due to having more ranged attacks.
War chanting will not work for Rajang.
When a rapper spits fire: supa hot
When brachy's hand-forged volcano spits latin:
I'm late as fuck, but last night I finally got to this fight. It took me 3 tries, but at the 4th try I managed to kill him. What a fun fight it was.
Now let's do it like five more times, because I need the armor and the charge blade :I
The cb is definetly worth it, congrats on getting him 🙌
Hands down one of the the best soundtrack of 5th gen era MH
2:30 damn gave me chills wtf Bloodborne vibes
exact same thing i said
2:02
Agreed
Yeah kinda
I just beat him today for the first time. The final stage had me sweating with this music
I just love the start of this theme.
Only beat it twice so far, once alone and one in a party, after that haven’t found anyone who can stay alive long enough
Platform? I've got over 50 kills on him. If you play on PS4 I'm more than happy to help you farm up some kills on the big lug.
I'm in too :) i play on ps4 if nobody dies 3 times i'll take him down for ya
The whole thing is good but I deeply love the beginning of the theme. It just sounds so epic.
Sounds like final boss music tbh, can't imagine how good Alatreon's theme is going to be now
Very Dark Souls
Kal l okay same I’ve been replaying the first 12 seconds over and over 🤤🤤
It reminds me of the very beginning of the phase 2 white Fatalis theme of MHFrontier
It feels so bloodborne-ish
1:23 hnnnnnng the violins in the back playing the main melody of Brutish Indigo...this part is _severely_ underappreciated
I haven't felt that same kind of intensity since my first successful Shara Ishvalda hunt. 10/10 would fight the JoJo reference again.
cleared it first time with just spaming traps on him tbh not that hard imo the monkey was way harder and exhasuting
I really hope next gen has cross play and people can walk in the town like NPCs that would be amazing!!!
A fully open world monster hunter?
So... Frontier?
Are you still alive
no matter how many times I fight him, Its always freaking amazing
You don’t chase Raging Brachy to his den. Raging Brachy lures you into his arena.
He’s not locked in there with you, your locked in there with him.
You aren’t the Hunter anymore. You’re his prey.
And then he gets killed by meta, XD.
@@Londoniusthe3rd Well, 90% of attempts predators make at hunting fail anyway. Lmao.
Hindsight’s 20/20
@@Londoniusthe3rd not even meta can save you, he's taking you down with him, i have a safi switchaxe and i can't even beat him
@@sakura368
That’s your experience, lmao. I soloed him first try with no faints. (Although I will admit I started to struggle a lot more against him in later fights)
@@Londoniusthe3rd you angered the brachy daddy
the first 15 seconds is when you know "your shits about to get rocked"
“We have an EMERGENCY” yeah we fuckin do I just shit my pants and there’s no changing room in here
