Raging Brachydios will always be one of my favorite hunts in Iceborne. Changing his hunt from old-gen as just "brachy on steroids" to an explosive frenzy, having to be smart about your evasion unless you want to dodge into another explosion, all building up to a literal cage match: no farcasters, no traps. Only way out is either *he* dies, or *YOU* die, and this cage match is when he's at his deadliest.

@@TheBeckyboostar true, even in lore it’s accurate. Because its shell here is more soft to the point where it hurts itself with its own explosions, the slime takes longer before exploding, and overall is less of a threat.

A common theme to all MHW Elder Dragon themes is chanting vocals. Raging Brachydios is one of the few non-Elders to earn this distinction.
In mhw raging is the only elder-level that have chant in the theme

Ah, Raging Brachydios, the normal monster who not only can't be captured like an Elder Dragon can't be captured, but also gets a vocal theme, like Elder Dragons do.

Tbf, you CAN capture Raging Brachy, it just fails the hunt because it's a "Slay" quest not a "Hunt" quest. Semantics, though.

The vocals of the mount theme at the very beginning REALLY make this version even better than the original. The og was 10/10 and this just kicks it up to 11/10
A monster so stubborn it demands to treated as an elder dragon, murdering thousands to get chanting in his theme. Refusing to get captured. And never running. He did not retreat, he simply lead the way. Forcing the hunter into a corner.
Truly a creature all monsters should strive to be like.

I like how they chose bells for the percussion, it’s a reference to Brachydio’s hunting horn being a bell.

It's times like these when I whis there was a different system in place than the current mount theme mechanics, like if there was an enrage theme mechanic or all of worlds themes were always completed instead of leaving room a whole new instrument that gives the music a total different vibe than a fight (like Vaal hazak and his bongos or Teostra and his Agnaktor friend clacking) while leaving the main them fell empty or unpolished (Elders Recess and New world Glavenus).
Look at Zinogre for instance, his main theme is pretty good but could be better however his mount theme is AWESOME and everything that the main theme could have been but we will barely ever EVER hear that work of art in the hunt for anymore than 3 seconds at a time and it is possible to go entier hunts without hearing it. WHAT GIVES CAPCOM!!!
Only Elder Dragons of reputable power or reputation get vocal themes/music changes. Raging Brachy is one of the few non elders to actually get a vocal/music change in his theme.

Not really a bullet hell when he doesn't shoot anything at you, you just have to be mindful of the slime on the ground when it does the big boom

This was the point in the game where I went "Now THIS is monster hunting."
Bro I loved this fight so much, in my first encounter I was getting absolutely thrown around with dual blades. So I grinded for a Velkhanna insect glaive and watched a tutorial on him and heard to just be aggressive and it worked. It also gave me an immortal reactor on my first clear so now I am a happy man with Raging Brachy dual blades. Now I just have to go through fighting stygian zinogre and furious rajang though I don’t think they’ll compare to the living hell that was this fight
This just reminded me why Raging Brachydios is my favorite monster

im not saying its the best fight but its 100% one of the best fights ever not only in world, not only in 5th gen but in MH as a series

The first phase is annoying imo. the last phase is definitely way better
So far I've only played MHFU and MHW/IB but it Raging Brachydios (IB) is probably my favorite fight, or atleast one of my favorite fights, in the franchise. I plan to play Rise/SB, P3, 3U, and 4U next, I hope the 3 fights you have over this one is on one of those.

That is why I am grounding material for the Teostra gaunlet. I will find out who is lock in with who when I get the gaunlet when I max out the evade window and extension with health regen augment on my great sword. Lol, no, I am not upgrading some weapon since the extra damage is not able to offset the time wasted on drinking potion.
So the *Rajang chase theme* still hasn't been posted to RUclips yet. Perhaps now would be prime to do a full *Rajang Melody* ?

I was having troubles with this monster yesterday and i finally beat it but it was my first time I saw the final phase and the music changed and I thought it was over!
"This is it hunter the final showdown to decide which of us make it out alive, its to hot in here for your wingdrakes they would begin to burn your traps don't work here either they would melt if it were not for that potion you drank you would melt as well there is no escape for you or I this is either one of our last battles the other would see to live another day now will you fight with all of your pride or give up, your choice hunter. i stripped myself of active slime mold for the fairest fight i could give but the side effect of that is a tiny explosion that might occur in a few minutes lets hope we both live to see its wonder now COME AT ME!"

0:16 the epicness begins
This fight will forever stick out in my mind as one of the most intense MHW fights I've had, aside from obviously Fatalis. One other person from our main group of 4, and me decided to try fighting Raging Brachy on our own while we waited for the other 2 members of our team to wake up. He's a HH main and me HBG, both of us "not that great" compared to the other 2 on our team, to say the least lol. It took us a couple of tries before we even got to the final part. Neither of us were expecting that final arena battle, nor did we come prepared at all. I was down to my last 2 potions. There was a lot of frantic running around and panicking. But somehow, and I don't know how, we did it, on our first try in that final phase. I will never forget that moment.
My kinsect dealt the final blow to this beast. What a showdown.
This, gave me an image of directly controlling a final phase raging brach fighting a new elder dragon that is weak to blast. Like Thunderlord Zino aiding you against Amatsu.
Nothing was more satisfying than beating this SOB out of all the monsters so far. And that music made me feel even more accomplished doing it.

Myrkrid but at the same time, MHG and MHGU were meant to be a celebration of the series, so some features were Generation exclusive like the hunter arts and deviants

I got 2 Immortal Reactors my first Successful Hunt, and I got 3 the second successful hunt, only 2 times did I not get one out of 11.
