Looking at both P. Malzeno and Malzeno, I noticed that it is significantly more frail and withered looking after having bonded with the Qurio for so long. Also, with how P. Malzeno's final phase resembles that of a Risen monster, it shows that the immediate boost of power Risen monsters get comes at the cost of a gradual dependency on the Qurio along with long-term physical degradation. With Gais being based off of Satan, I imagine it would be logical to think of the Qurio as having some basis in general demons seeing as how letting them bond with you, no matter who you are, gives you immense power at a drastic price.
@@VouivreDemonS Upon further looking in to it, Gais does share some similarities to Abaddon in that both are tied to some sort of abyss and that they both utilize locusts (the way Abaddon's locust swarms are described sound nothing like locusts and more like chimeric abominations) that create a devastating plague wherever they go. The locusts in Gais's case being instead the Qurio, which causes a pandemic on the scale of, if not greater than, that of the Frenzy virus. It is likely Capcom took some inspiration from a plethora of named demons and weaved aspects of them into Gais's ecology whilst keeping it as this Devil-equivalent figure.
I legit wondered how they could make a vampiric dragon work in a MH game. I’m glad to say Capcom absolutely delivered in that regard and on top of that made arguably a top 3 monster theme of all time
This theme perfectly matches everything about Malzeno! It has a very dark and gothic feeling to it, like you’re fighting an Elder Dragon version of Dracula, which is the inspiration for Malzeno’s creation, such is Lunagaron based off a werewolf and Garangolm based off Frankenstein. It makes you wonder what will they come up with next!

If you slow your gameplay down enough you can see that Malzeno isn't really teleporting, he just moves extremly fast. As example Prim Malzenos double Cross slash, insted of teleporting himself back in the air for the second attack he actually jumps backwards and up in the air for the second slash and that at an extreme speed that just looks like as if he's teleporting.^^

And then out of Nowhere Malzeno came with his teleportation and decided to took the place as my Favorite Monster Hunter in all the Franchise. That’s how you make an impact.
Malzeno is the most magical elder dragon I’ve yet seen in Monster Hunter. Some things happened in multiplayer that I haven’t gotten to see in solo, yet. I swear it wasn’t a matter of latency that it teleported ME across the stage right before it unleashed its super move; I saw particle effects around myself. Its moves are often wide-range, but at slightly odd timings and angles, kinda like Almudron although easier to anticipate. And when they are direct, they kill in one. I’m shroud vaulting for my life with dual blades. Thankfully, I do SOME damage every time I have to do that. I’ve managed to survive with at least one cart left by myself, but not win. I’m even mounting monsters to make my life a bit easier, but it’s probably a more economical strategy in a group when at least SOME damage gets done. I need to learn to find the openings and pursue more tightly. Bastard likes to play at range sometimes. It seems rather intensely balanced for both blademasters and gunners, though I’ve not had the perspective of a gunner.
Not a gunner, but good hunting partners with a few. Malzeno *doesn't* like them. At all. He will find whoever dares shoot at it, and _kill_ them with prejudice. While one of my hunting buddies (Hey Mardux) was stubborn staying with guns- just changed to light bowgun instead. My other buddies said it would be easier to go blademaster. Besides Mardux, the others weren't expert gunners though. Have no clue how bow would work. Need to contact another buddy for their perspective. -Sincerely a Hammer main.

Depending on which malzeno you fight, the music has a much different feel The theme with afflicted malzeno makes you feel like youre fighting agaisnt a cursed monarch,a false king adorned in a cloak of writhing, screeching vermin Then the opposite With primordial malzeno, you fight agaisnt a true warrior, the knight in shimmering armor, wealding a mighty sword and shield, the last beacon of hope for his species, and yet even then,he still gets occasionally currupted by the qurio swarm, his beautiful wings growing torn and tattered, yet he still fights, even with his growing madness, the knight will never stop till the war is over
I went on a solo hunt against this thing and I haven't been carted once, needless to say though; Malzeno and Valstraax are the only 2 monsters in this game that made me use all of my potions, collect every single spiribird on the map, and actually panic. Being a solo hunter is super fun against those type of monsters, ong
Really ? I dont have sunbreak but the main game is so awfully easy (and short) that i didnt want to buy sunbreak. The only monster that made me use potions that arent in the chest is the cat thing with purple fire, it was a cool fight. When i read how good sunbreak is, i kinda want to try it.
@@themagikarp9676 Sunbreak is a whole different level. You've got Low and High rank in Base game. But in Sunbreak, you have Master rank. And if you're not collecting spiribirds, you will get one shot in there if you're not careful.
This song actually sounds quite tragic tbh, some parts lets out the tragic side which is now revealed to the hunters as the “Malzeno” we know is the fallen, shadow of what it is supposed to be, and what it as a species has come too
this is actually why I'm kinda glad why P. Mal didn't get a remixed theme cause it fits the hunt so much. especially when Fioryane started pointing out that he was showing hatred for the qurio and even questioning her morals.
Never before have I been pummeled with such elegance and grace since Velkhana. This dragon wasn't simply out for blood - it was showing off every instant it could, with the grace and decorum only a true lord could. Well, until its patience wore thin and it got a bit too thirsty for my vital fluids, anyway... ... I also love how its tail resembles a classy wine glass/goblet.
When this theme played for the first time, it instilled such a sense of foreboding and dread that it felt like I was DESTINED to get wrecked by Malzeno (and get wrecked in the demo I did) Like I wasn't even mad, that's how much I respected this monster
Anyone else feel like they could hear Vincent Price's laugh every time this demonic mf teleports? What an incredible fight, and what a diabolical monster.
Me: Okay, I kinda know his pattern, it’s going to be lot easier. Malzeno being enraged and teleport right before me and wiping me with his attack. Me: Well, didn’t ended well but this was kinda sick !
This is the first monster that I’ve almost ran out of time fighting in rise. Dodging everything with dual blades and flying everywhere while managing with no moxie and not a single faint, only to kill it with a silkbind drill to the face was glorious.

I think Gais is an Alciel based.
I have never even played this game, but I've been listening to this track for months.
The Mummy. I’d love to see a monster use “bandages” in battle.
@@acgearsandarms1343 Rakna-Kadaki, no?
1:20 this part with the violin fills me with emotion and gives me goosebumps, so good
This guy might be my new favorite flagship up there with Gore and Maggy
Maggy is a trash flagship lol
ignore the other guy that commented, but Maggy ?
@@ohenthevoidwatcher3939 I do believe he means Magnamalo.
@@mattbks ah that's very likely, yeah magna is cool
@@ohenthevoidwatcher3939 Maggie is Magnamalo yea, I definitely prefer him over the previous Flagship like Velkana or Nerg. Nergigante in World was a massive letdown imo. His fight was cool but I got bored of it especially during base world when it first came out because I didn't like the deco farming system in that game.
You should’ve been in the top 10 for hunters music choice, my king. You were robbed.
I know it's a fat chance but I really want to see Malzeno in high definition with Wilds.
Probably not in the main game but hopefully in the expansion.
Omg same, i need both Malzeno and the Magalas in Wilds
We got Velkhana in Sunbreak so expansion Malzeno seems likely
If you slow your gameplay down enough you can see that Malzeno isn't really teleporting, he just moves extremly fast.
As example Prim Malzenos double Cross slash, insted of teleporting himself back in the air for the second attack he actually jumps backwards and up in the air for the second slash and that at an extreme speed that just looks like as if he's teleporting.^^
Excelente!! No veo la hora de ver sus videos cazando en Sunbreak, son una locura!!
The choir stabs at 1:06 just give me physical chills every time
When he enraged and then just fucking teleported I felt a feeling of sheer terror that I haven't felt since walking into area 2 of Arch Tempered Nerg and getting _immediately_ Pepega Slam'd
I went nuts on this fight. When it started blinking around in a dark mist and brought its wing up to mimic old school vampires made me lose it and I can honestly say this is my new favorite Elder. And the music fits Malzeno perfectly
It's just a Malzeno variant they said, Sunbreak was easy they said, wirebug makes the game easy they said, you can't get one shotted they said.
The use of organs is SO good! One of the best Elder Dragons already!
I just bought this game because of this theme... literally.... it is just the perfect boss fight theme
マジでフロンティア級モンスだと思う
大技、瞬間移動からの即死技...製品版では多少狩りやすくなるんだろうけど体験版はヤバすぎる
尚、大技はかなり優しい模様
This theme goes even harder after hunting Primo Malzeno for the first time.
Ah yes the “DID IT JUST TELEPORT” theme
Malzeno is the first flagship Monster whos in a parasitic symbiosis, other flagships like Zinogre are in a normal symbiosis
1:05 the moment u realize HE CAN TELEPORT
Real
They had no reason to make his theme so GLORIOUS, yet they did anyway and Im very grateful for that.
God I love rise and sunbreak so goddamn much
Ah. This piece, which quickly became my favorite musical track in the franchise.
Still haven't fought this dude yet, but this sounds like a perfect soundtrack to get brutally murdered to. lolz.
I love how he folds his wings around him to look like a high necked cloak and then suddenly APPEARS in front of you 😅
I think the best part of the game was when Malzeno said "It's Malzing time" and then Malzed all those hunters. I stood up and applauded when that happened.
"Stand back, Hunter! I am beginning to Malz!"
Truly, one of the monster of all time.
"AMBATUMAAAALLZZZ"
Hunter: Die monster. You don't belong in this land.
Malzeno: It was not by my claw that I am once again given flesh. I was called here by HUNTERS who wish to farm MY materials.
Hunter: Materials?! You steal hunters' luck and make them your hunting puppets!
Malzeno: Perhaps the same could be said of all villages.
Hunter: Your words are as empty as your armor without jewels! Mankind ill needs a monster such as you.
Malzeno: WHAT IS A HUNTER? A miserable little pile of skills. But enough talk, Have at you!
I wanna dub this
okay, let's see what you got
Me: Okay, it’s pretty far away. Just need to heal…
Malzeno: _Teleports in front of me._ Nothing personal, kid.
Me: _Faints_
It sounds very elegant almost aristocratic.. Very fitting theme for a vampire themed elder dragon
I look forward to fighting him again in MH Wilds
Wouldn't mind even if the fight happens in many small area across the map that spawn randomly like they just made those place a new nest...
If this is what we get for the flagship, imagine what the final boss will be!
Right. Hopefully more threatening than the all-mother
I'm really excited for the final boss monster i can't even imagine what it could be cause it definitely has to go with the western monster theme
Imagine it's disufiroa
Unlikely but it would be cool if they brought back dalamadur
@@MAK3L_ all mother was threatening just rise made it easy but sunbreak seems like more of a challenge so hopefully master rank allmother will be aswell
The first time in a long time I felt legitimate fear from fighting a monster of any kind. Capcom nailed Malzeno perfectly.
They really nailed the horror theme and it's awesome
You cannot tell me you didn't get spooked when he teleported for the first time
Didn't have time to get spooked his tail stab immedieatly killed me 😅 but i wasn't even mad because it was so incredible cool!
“Umm actually he doesn’t teleport. 🤓”
I know a lot of people are praising the bit at 1:07, but damn, that part at 1:32 is definitively my favorite!
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite themes in the series and I haven't even fought the monster yet. I know that when I do it will be quite special indeed.
So how was it?
@@raditz1101 Just beat it actually! It really was a sublime experience. Probably in my top 5 fights. Glad I waited and worked my way up to this fight in the story proper.
@@Zyckro Same honestly he's super speedy and if you dont keep up with him he will eat you alive and I love it. Especially when using a slow weapon like Greatsword and knowing when to Strongarm and when to tackle it feels so good when you dismantle him
Malzeno : allow me to introduce myself
-teleports right away
Hunter: *does a lunging attack, barely doing any damage*
Malzeno, turning to face them: "...You must be the hunter."
"Nothing personal, kid" the dragon
Monster Hunter 4 Player fell in love with the Magala Trio and had them as Favorite monsters of all time.
Then Ahtal Ka showed up and took the spot with the Magalas right behind them.
Blast dash/bullet barrage gunlance seems very good at dealing with the range since closing the distance with huge damage is a very simple task
wait, he can teleport your hunter!?

I’ve never played monster hunter rise Sunbreak yet but malzeno’s battle theme makes me want to take this down with honor
My absolute favorite monster by far. I remember in the demo when I fought him for the first time, the music hit 1:06 right as he got into his super mode and started teleporting. The best monster hunter moment I ever had.
At 1:00 it makes my skin crawl. God i love this theme..
Beat him with a random team this morning, with only 13 seconds left on the clock!
Beat him last night with only 3 seconds left!
Well done solider
Depending on which malzeno you fight, the music has a much different feel
The theme with afflicted malzeno makes you feel like youre fighting agaisnt a cursed monarch,a false king adorned in a cloak of writhing, screeching vermin
Then the opposite
With primordial malzeno, you fight agaisnt a true warrior, the knight in shimmering armor, wealding a mighty sword and shield, the last beacon of hope for his species, and yet even then,he still gets occasionally currupted by the qurio swarm, his beautiful wings growing torn and tattered, yet he still fights, even with his growing madness, the knight will never stop till the war is over
It does have a heroic yet tragic sound to it
@@slyguy9315 Malzeno really transmits that "fallen knight" vibe.
me : *only has 1 potion left*
Malzeno : 🅸🆃'🆂 🅼🅾🆁🅱🅸🅽' 🆃🅸🅼🅴
I went on a solo hunt against this thing and I haven't been carted once, needless to say though; Malzeno and Valstraax are the only 2 monsters in this game that made me use all of my potions, collect every single spiribird on the map, and actually panic.
Being a solo hunter is super fun against those type of monsters, ong
Yeah this monster definitely deserved its spot on my top 5 favorite monsters
Feels like boss music that plays when fighting Dracula but with that MHR flair
Let's face it, you screamed in terror when Malzeno warped across the field directly to you the first time.
When this theme played for the first time, it instilled such a sense of foreboding and dread that it felt like I was DESTINED to get wrecked by Malzeno (and get wrecked in the demo I did)
Like I wasn't even mad, that's how much I respected this monster
Can't wait for AT/Risen/Variant Malzeno sometime next month. It'll be a hell of a sendoff to Risebreak.
This is hands down the best theme in the series. It fits Malzeno so well, and sounds amazing the whole way through.
Thats a stretch but this is indeed a banger
It's really not
Valstrax
Agreed
Malzeno after taking a very enthusiastic walk
Anyone else feel like they could hear Vincent Price's laugh every time this demonic mf teleports? What an incredible fight, and what a diabolical monster.
Is it just me or does it say "Mal-ze-no" at 1:30
Me: Okay, I kinda know his pattern, it’s going to be lot easier.
Malzeno being enraged and teleport right before me and wiping me with his attack.
Me: Well, didn’t ended well but this was kinda sick !
This is without a doubt one of the best vampire battle themes ever
This is the first monster that I’ve almost ran out of time fighting in rise.
Dodging everything with dual blades and flying everywhere while managing with no moxie and not a single faint, only to kill it with a silkbind drill to the face was glorious.
