  • I recently had the opportunity to tour the breeding fish room of Central Valley Aquarium. Larry and Mary (Who I met through the Sacramento Aquarium Society), breed lots of fish in their home fish room. Bettas, Angelfish, Shrimp, and Rainbow fish are their main focus, but they breed other things as well! They also have a lot of Gary Lange Rainbowfish Strains.

Yes, I hve a billion dumbo guppies and a million longfin white cloud minnows. I’m going to work on the threadfin rainbows and maybe the cpds

Michael Lou any photos available of the guppies? My local fish store only has generic guppies and I am looking for something a little more interesting.

Got the female..a small but rounded and healthy female and the near 2 year old big male was happy as a lark this morning showing off better colors than ever. Same for the other males when she came by. Rainbows are great..even at 4 to 1 male to female they don't harass her all day. Cichlid males would never stop...

Great tour! The process their son described of using electricity to make patterns in the wood... I’ve never heard of that. How neat.
I can’t imagine how time consuming (and expensive) it can be taking rare of 80 something tanks. I have 9 tanks and I already dread water change day. It seems like every inch of that house is dedicated to fish. Wow.

Great vlog, I have 3 angles from Larry and Mary that I won at the SAS club 3 months ago. I absolutely adore them. It shows in the fishes attitude how well they have been cared for. They have grown huge and will be getting a huge tank when as soon as I’m able. Then I’ll be asking you both for some more Angels. 👍

I'm focused on Rainbows for my 240...M.boesemani are primary..but hard time finding a female after more than a year of males. Rainbows kind of fit the older aquarist who've "kept everything that swims underwater"...because they have all good traits..color,peaceful,very easy to feed.

@@edwardtomaszewski78 the rainbows when spawning shoot out eggs. So when that happens they can stick to the yarn and hopefully protects them. If not they will be eaten. They stick to the yarn then you can snip the piece of yarn and move it if needed or just remove the adults.
