LOL I would NOT throw that piece of chicken away. I'd wash it and re-season it.

I would do the exact same thing, wash it and re-season it. Like you said, once you cook it, the heat will kill all the germs anyway lol.

The reason he's not going to use the dropped chicken in front of us, is because the comment Karen's will have a field day and berate him to no end. I'd clean it off and use it as well

I would wash the dropped chicken, dry with paper towels, re-season and cook it. What a waste to throw it away. Recipe looks delicious. I don’t have an “instant pot” so maybe I’ll try it in the oven.

I just made this for dinner but I used chicken breast. Delicious. Not a bite left. Thank you for this recipe.
I too would just wash the chicken and season it again. 😊

I've noticed that when you sauté your protein, and place it on a plate then return it to your pressure cooker, you leave the pan juices on the plate and don't add them back in. Those drippings hold the flavor of all that has come before. :)

I have noticed that you often do not add any thin liquid or very little anyway. Like in this recipe - the balsamic was the only liquid and that was only 3 Tbsp. Most electric pressure cookers say in the instructions to always add between a half cup and full cup of water or thin liquid in order to bring to pressure. Curious as to how you are getting pressure with almost no liquid. But, I will try this recipe - I love balsamic.

I don't wash my chicken either. Neither do any of the chefs on the cooking shows. Cooking process takes care of that. But what you do want to was are your surfaces and anything that touches the chicken when it's raw. I would have then washed the dropped chicken and re seasoned it. I know what's been on my floor. It's probably cleaner than my kitchen sink. :)

Oh man I am so glad you kept that real world kitchen fumble in your video! That made watching so relatable to everybody who has cooked anything ever. I agree with others, at home. Just rinse it off really well reseason it and get back in the game.. (another reason why you should keep your kitchen floor clean). I can understand why you didn't use it, because the Comment-Karens would have not been kind.. but don't listen to them

I would, and have dropped chicken (and other items) on my floor, just pick it up, rinse it well, re-reason it and cook it. I just wouldn’t advertise the fact so others wouldn’t get creepy feelings. BUT would always initially wash the raw chicken well….when said you never washed it before use, I actually gasped!! Chickens are filthy alive, why would they be clean later?😱

    • @cookingwithcoit

Hi- thanks for your input. A lot people say that washing your chicken with water can actually spread more harmful bacteria in the kitchen, so it can do more potential harm than good. I think it’s a “to each their own situation”, like most things 😁
