This trope always bothers me in movies because the whole incident could've been safely avoided if there was just a sign that read "Beware of Shotgun Wizard"
I was watching a 20/20 report once on avoiding robbers and apparently having a “beware of dog sign” actually helps a little. You don’t even need to actually have a dog. Robbers would rather pick a place that’s less likely to have a noisy animal to alert neighbors and the homeowner

Björn Fellhanded might be different on your shotgun, but on mine the slide release is placed right next to the trigger guard where it can easily be actuated while your trigger finger is in the trigger guard.
Guns have safeties. So, he did have his finger on there a little bit, but even if he shot, it wouldn’t shoot.

thats how a pump shotgun works, you pump again it AFTER you shoot, which removes whats in the barrel (now empty shell) and then loads in a new full shell
It’s a Remington 870, a PUMP shotgun.
I know how a pump shotgun works, I was saying that he was ejecting shells when he wasn’t shooting, but when he actually did shoot, he was firing multiple times without pumping the shells out, which is ironic because that’s the only time you’re supposed to be ejecting shells

What’s sad is, this is actually a more accurate portrayal than most Hollywood movies for the simple reason he knows the difference between a magazine and a clip.
Both can technically be a magazine, only one can be a clip.
@@rsg1963 I’m not saying you’re wrong but the way I understand it is this. The magazine can be internal, detachable, or tubular (like on that shotgun) It is what feeds rounds into the chamber. A clip holds the rounds until they are ready to be placed in the magazine. Stripper clips for example feed internal magazines.
