That could be about the pollution in the ocean destroying the ecosystem to the point where it's killing the living creatures within it, and possibly us very soon.

Plastic Beach is by far my favorite Gorillaz album, a lot of the songs are just insanely deep and well written. Including this one, idk I always loved it even though it got a lot of hate in its initial release. It’s just a fun song too, it doesn’t take itself serious either.

For some reason this song reminds me of my childhood (along with the entire plastic beach album). Similarly, this is why companies will use the same slogan, audio chime and visual branding for as long as it's deemed effective, until the cycle begins again with a change and newer ideas. For some reason this song reminds me of my childhood (along with the entire plastic beach album). I have pretty much no memory of hearing this song or any other pb songs when i was younger (i was 5 with this album came out) but for some reason they just give me a very nostalgic feeling and it makes me happy 😊

But the reason why verse 2 is repeated twice (once again after the chorus) is to mimic the trope of what this video is parodying - television advertisements.
