Beastie Boys were pioneers. They brought the GenX era idea of the future into the fire of music. So two generation Gen X and Millennials could hear one song and identify with it differently. They were artists and genius in their art.

This video is legendary. What I love about it is it takes more than just Kaiju (giant monsters) from Japanese media. The shots, the costumes, the choreography, it's super Japanesy. On top of that they used a recording technique that would be used in music videos EVERYWHERE later: They would perform the song in a slower or faster pace on camera, then correct the pace of the video to match the song tempo, making either a hyper or airy feeling. This is legendary, and the song is one of the best rap songs ever made.

This video is legendary. What I love about it is it takes more than just Kaiju (giant monsters) from Japanese media. The shots, the costumes, the choreography, it's super Japanesy.
On top of that they used a recording technique that would be used in music videos EVERYWHERE later:
They would perform the song in a slower or faster pace on camera, then correct the pace of the video to match the song tempo, making either a hyper or airy feeling.
