I learned that the subway scene in Tokyo was totally unscripted and they didn’t have permits to film there. That would have been hilarious to see on your morning commute, the beastie boys rapping in engineering outfits!
Thats so sick cheers
When I visited Tokyo a few years ago and walked into the West Entrance of Shinjuku JR Station, my first thought was "Holy crap, this is where they filmed Intergalactic!"
Tokyo’s homeless didn’t need permits to squat there what more film there.
In watching this video for the first time and watching the mixed reaction from subway riders, my first thought was did they get permits or did they wing it? Thanks for clarifying that! 😂
In a language u dont understand too lmao
My 17yo daughter told me this is currently her favorite song … I almost shed a tear.
I’m also 17, I love the beastie boys lol
Good choice 👍

I love that these guys really didn't take themselves that seriously, but still knew how to rock and pop hard.
Always liked them but only found out a few years ago how complete they actually were when I saw a live version of Sabotage with actual guitars etc. My love of rap and hip hop was almost something I had to keep secret during school, my teens etc. Because I was in indie bands and they didn't really mix, I used to go to what we my city called urban nights etc. In clubs on the down low because I was worried my fellow musicians would think I was a phoney when in actuality a lot of those guys had beastie boys, wu tang and Eminem albums and respected the genre and the only person being phoney was me for not embracing it and even attempting to use it in the music.
Oh yeah and I was shocked to see Beastie boys were a former punk band that played instruments.

@brian sherwood Jr....you know what forget the beastie boys.....ah just forget the whole thing.
What episode this from ?
Seeing the Beastie Boys live in concert after THIS album was dropped back in the day I can honestly say after attending over 200 live music venue events so far THESE guys were by far the absolute fucking best. Thank you BB's for your contribution in fighting for our right to party.
🤍🕯️🕊️
Another golden oldie.
Dude… not an oldie… 96
These guys were about 20 years ahead of their time.
austin wool fuck yeah
Actually they were right on time
actually they were trash
@@dominickluna7563 still really good trash
How???
God when this song came out as a kid it was literally in EVERY kid's cd-player or boom box or on the radio. You could not escape this freakin' song.
kinda sad you can escape it now though :/
Nah you guys don’t understand this song is “Intergalactic” it’s everywhere…and always will be
I miss it lmao.
Ghetto blasters! Ok, maybe not old enough for that (I think)
Still the kings of hip hop/rap the fusion of old school west rap vibes mixed with white boy is classic and will never get old
If there was ever a song or music video that was deserving or demanding of the "IDGAF; be entertained" title, this is it for all eternity.
2022 and still going strong. They were so ahead of their time
They were good cause they were extremely old school even back then imo
Way ahead of their tirm
Opposite. 2022 is behind of their time.
these days you only have these low skilled trash hiphop mainstream crap,... people don't know what they're missing but they Boys already delivered huge and like you guys said, way ahead of their time
I'm a Japanese. Beastie Boys make us happy thru this footage!!
Love the robot or hate him, he's spittin' straight facts.
Word up!
If this ain't considered hip-hop, I don't know what is!🔥
This video is so far behind it's time that it's, in fact, ahead of it's time.
My friend Devin and I would rap this at the lunch table In highschool one of my greatest memories. I'm 29 now Devin has been gone for a year and I'll play this in his honor always. Love and miss ya man.
This one's for you Devin
How did he go
Condolences and party on Devin..
May he rest in party
Champs Intergalactic devintary
There will never be a time that the Beasties are not one of the most badass things that ever was.
We break for no one!
Finally. After over 20 years, I have finally figured out what song this was. I first watched this video back when it came out back in what 98? I was like 4. All I remember was 2 guys singing with a giant robot fighting a monster in the background.
*This one of the greatest songs of all time, I love all the beastie boys' work*
Dito ✌️👌👍
It's not even close to one of the greatest songs of all time lol, but it's good
@@jamessurnamepending1239 bro that lol is super rude, you could've just said I hyperbolized a bit
@@CalifornianCuttlefish well, I retract the lol, I did t mean to offend you, it's not a hate comment. Don't get caught up on the little things dude. Good music is good music, even if it's not the best
@@jamessurnamepending1239 you are right, I kind of overreacted, I'm sorry
Who's listening 23 years later in 2021? Still an absolute banger.
Hello fellow 2020 survivor
Yes it is still a banger in 2021
yup
Word
I thought the lyrics “ another dimension” were a mess of the letters a o and u
Posting this on January 1st, 2024. Officially the first song I listened to this year and remembering how it feels to be creative, innovative, and have fun. Thanks to Adrock and Mike D for reminding me of that, and of course, thanks to MCA, the director of this masterwork of a video, wherever he is in this intergalactic plain of existence.
