Damon Albarn: Yeah, you don't repeat that. I was inspired by him, and my opening was a one-take as well. The only problem is I'm not as good at ad-libbing, in the sense of it making sense, so mine's a bit more in tongues.

For 5 years, this was the last ever Gorillaz song. Imagine the fans back before Humanz was first being teased having this masterpiece as their last example of what Gorillaz sounded like.

I remember when this song came out. This was after the peak of my gorillaz obsession because the band disbanded around 2010. This song released in 2012 or 2013 and it was alongside a Gorillaz Shoe that was made by Converse (Hence why everyone is wearing High Tops in the photo.) So they really left a lot to look foward to and then we didn't hear anything until around 2015/16.

Fun Fact: Damon Albarn (2D) completely Ad-Libbed the entire song. Which means, he came up with the lyrics as the song went on. Literally INSANE.
Another fun fact: the entire 2nd half was improvised because Andre kept going, so Damon and the rest of the group kept going with him.

Also, I may be wrong, but I feel like he's the one who's doing the background voices, the ''Oooohh'' that you can hear before the ''I'm the shit'' part starts, and in the end, when the song turns dark and sort of depressive. I'm aware that the song carries Gorillaz' name, and the music video takes place in their world, but I feel that a lot of people praise Gorillaz/Damon and the Music video and Andre's rap, but they kinda forget that James is an important part of the song.
