@@thegringo.08 He's talking about The Good, The Bad, and The Queen. It's a supergroup that Damon formed with a few members of The Clash. Unfortunately the supergroup isn't active anymore but maybe there'll be more songs with them in one of Damon's other projects like Blur or Gorillaz. Who knows?
I really love how they're doing this. The fact we are getting new songs this soon is amazing as is, but these short little episodes really just add to what makes Gorillaz so great in the first place. This first song is a banger, and I am so beyond ready to hear what else they have in store for us!
Also idk if this makes me sound hipster but it takes all the hype off of a band producing music; it's laid back and not very many views and the aesthetic is also DOPE AS FUCK. We're all just fans enjoying some music, as if we're there with them recording and screwjng around.

Not their most elaborate video, but I love the whole vibe of it. It really makes you feel like you're in the studio with everyone putting the song together during both the intense bits of putting your nose to the grindstone and the small breaks or relaxing moments inbetween. Just that feeling of being in a group and working together to make something.

Nope. Plus, I'm so happy that they're back to experimenting with a more punk rock sound, instead of the "suburban melancholic dance electropop rap" they've been stuck in ever since Demon Days. Not that I dislike their recent stuff, but I kind of gave up on it, since, to me, it obviously lacked that gut punch from the first album. You know, back when they featured this skeleton more prominently. :P

And regarding to their new music, I really like it. I feel like Gorillaz is one of those bands who never really made bad music (not all of their songs are great but still, they're not bad) even If they went through numerous changes along the time they stay true to themselves.

Eddie Murphy said in a recent interview with Stephen Colbert that he refused his role on "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" because the idea of mixing cartoons with live-action would be disastrous. He did say that he regrets what he did.

well, they're not interacting directly with the gorillaz characters, they're simply adding them in and rotoscoping elements into each shot.
In Who framed Roger Rabbit the actors had to talk, touch and in general interact with the toons, which is a totally different process.
the production of Who Framed Roger Rabbit was a horrible process, as no one on set really knew how it would look in the end, everyone simply pretending whats there.
rotoscoping is adding drawn elements on top of allready shot footage without the actors in the scene expecting anything to be added. Despite in this video/series above the Gorillaz characters are made to fit into the scene, they'r enot directly involved with the real people.
the problem with "acting with" cartoon characters is finidning the balance between acting naturally but also not over acting, as cartoon characters usually oversaturate everything. Which is part of the metajoke in Roger Rabbit.

@@SprocketWatchclock He's not playing the wrong notes, he is just playing the song one octave down in the video, actually in the production of the song you can hear 2 basses. (sorry for my english)
That's one of the reasons I love Gorillaz. Instead of just showing the characters playing their instruments randomly, they take the time to do the correct notes. Even Russel's drum playing is correct.

Not gonna lie this song is how I first discovered that the more you listen to a Gorillaz song the more you like it. This is happened with some other songs too like Saturnz Barz and superfast jellyfish but this is the first time I really like noticed it.
