Hello there
Heeeey
wish i couldnt relate to this
Anthony I know you don’t like the UK but saying that we need to systematically cleanse the British people was a little far
KungFuJesus 1 this is the one time I’d actually be happy if melon said it
Now Now was a good album.
Err0rC0degames for me it was , the only problem is the over melancholic songs , which isn’t that bad but every track kinda gave the same vibe
As soon as it picked up the pace at “there’s a hole in your pocket so you cannot find the change”, I loved it
None of y'all are funny stop please
Excited to hear the new album
I thought the Now Now was pretty immaculate, it really brought me into Gorillaz and made me pretty big fan of the otherworldly type of sound they tend to put out. Tracks like Magic City, Fireflies, Humility, and Sorcerez are pretty much some of my favorite tracks within their whole discog but to each there own I guess.
"Slaves are pretty hit or miss."
Reminded me A LOT of Do Ya Thing. Definitely had similar energy to it.
I want to see Fantano’s playlist
Gorillaz nails every feature ALL the time
Not all of them, but they do a pretty damn good job.
@@philatio1744 yeah now thinking about it some of the humanz ones were disappointing (dram nowhere to be found lol) but all the other ones are on point imo
Depression Cherry I think that, because of it’s feature oversaturation, not all of the collabs are well integrated in Humanz.
It just makes it a bit bloated at times.
I have planted a satchel charge explosive demolition device inside of your vehicles exhaust pipe, melon, and I plan to detonate it unless my demands are met. My demands go as follows: Re-re-review MBDTF
you didn’t have to go on a 4 minute rant on how slowthai should be back in the zoo with the gorillaz melon, not cool.

I've only liked 2 songs from both Humanz and The Now Now. The Apprentice, and Humility. This is definitely up there with those. Great, fun track
The best Gorillaz track since DoYaThing
This reminds me a lot of the first album and a little of Demon days with the punk vibes from them.
It was fun and choked full of energy, but at first it didn't really click with me but it's grown on me a lot.
I guess it is a Gorillaz song then.
phi latio16 That’s every Gorillaz song. You have to listen to it like 3 songs for it to really be good
@@gupoll hence why he said "I guess it's a Gorrilaz song then"
@@mikehockburns2146 I don't understand the obsession with correcting someone whenever they affirm OP's statements. Like, not everything has to be unique, the man just wanted to agree
Same here man. This one grew one me really quick. At first I just thought it sounded `kind of` good and unique. Now I completely love it.
Sukanmi Bollzacck For me and other people I know, Gorillaz makes songs that are usually layered and require multiple listens for it to catch on for listeners

I really wish there was a proper animated series
I doubt that'll ever happen, I don't think they can fit into such a neat and tidy package like that. And the characters personalities come out through the music, only 2 of the characters have regular voice actor.s
I mean it could always happen, they wouldn't be the first music artist to have a cartoon.
Well the trouble with a full on TV show is, Gorillaz is supposed to blur (excuse the pun) the lines between fiction and reality. If you have a TV show, that falls a lot cleaner along the lines of fiction.
Although that concept has gotten much looser over the years so literally anything can happen - remember when it was like "wow this animated band" before you knew it was "the guy from blur" lol - now, it's hard to see a distinction between 2D and Damon.
the fact that this might be the animated series they were teasing around the release of humanz (or the now now, i forget specifically) is just super disappointing. im not asking for 30 minute episodes, but they were able to do the gorillaz bitez way back in the day with the debut, i dont think it would be that hard to do it again. hell, they can keep the spliced real world and animated style, that works well. its just weve gotten so closw to more content actually featuring these charscters (do ya thing mv, bitez, mtv cribs, chara. interviews, etc.) but we've only ever truely hit the mark with bitez. thats it.
@magicants holy shit youre right
Slowthai's verse had some deep Punk rap/ British Ska vibes, very much reminded me of Terry Hall from the Specials. Interesting track
Mike Skinner
Ok
@@diegoforlan2324 original pirate material👍👍👍

I really felt like 2D felt and sounded like 2D instead of Damon on this track and it all felt like a classic Gorillaz track.
TheVoiceOfTruth I never really saw it as an ego problem, more of him losing the character after that break from Gorillaz. He had to refind what made 2D, 2D.
@TheVoiceOfTruth damon practically has no ego in comparison to some other British musicians, like the gallaghers, morrrissey, etc
Евгения Михайловна exactly what Im saying.
@TheVoiceOfTruth if anything humanz was his ego being too small lol he was on so few tracks
Otter Hero lmao true
crazy how every track he reviews has the same bassline and drumstick sound
music is becoming so formulaic, really disappointing
@UC3qPNpLILD4yhJ87xnkwkEQ You do realise that it is a joke about the bootleg song that he puts on the video while he listens to the actual song, right? Come on, chill
Horny Alien are you a fucking idiot? He’s in on the joke!
@Miguel Hernandez nah they deleted their comment they were not in
BlueRoses When comments get deleted, all hell (sometimes) gets loose
I believe the best thing on this is how they are trying to do a kind of "Gorillaz experimentation" project with them on the studio and the bitez... What I missed the most on past records was the group interacting and commenting on things aside from ads
I missed the story elements and the music videos that came with the older records
The lore in general was super interesting and it gave the characters, well, character.
It’s a shame that aspect has been lost for a while now in Gorillaz, I think the lack of an interactive website is a major factor in that.
@@philatio1744 there was a lot of lore before the release of humanz though...
@@cheekybananaboy3361 ikr
The first three albums had themes, something to say. Not really the case for Humanz, I don't think. And then The Now Now is just Damon being moody through 2D. I guess that's the general direction for Gorillaz now: just songs that may or may not try to communicate something.
Does nobody remember the Saturn Barz music video or what?
damn bro slowthai has been dropping consistent heat ever since i accidentally touched his upper thigh that one time

Who is feat. and why is he on every song?
TheHABIBIman 69 Spelled “feat.” wrong
Also feat. is an amazing and visionary prodigy that has been working in music for a couple hundred years. Despite his hard work, he only became popular through the age of recorded music. He then blew up and got the recognition he truly deserved

Bruh you don't know feat.? He's the fucking shit.
A random Alien he never going to stop the grinding
damon actually sounded p great on this track. he sounded a bit bored on the last two albums in some places, hoping for good things from this more relaxed less traditional album cycle.
Bored? Tf are you smoking?
swush he definitely didn’t sound bored
He is just older now.
I think the energy was just different on this track, nonetheless I think this track was a good setup for wherever Damon and Hewlett are leading Gorillaz
the thing that kinda made me mad on Humanz is him using a "im singing thru the phone" effect on almost every song (seriously go listen back to it).
its like "dood why do you hate your own voice so much". when his voice is what helps gives gorillaz life and I really felt the criticism of the lack of presence of him on the album was kinda valid.
Humanz to me is basically just a bunch of decent tracks thrown together produced by Damon with little core creative narrative direction. its not much of an a l b u m. it feels like a bunch of mp3s given to you from a friend who likes some decent music. even with how genre crossing Gorillaz Self Titled was, it felt like a cohesive package.
gorillaz and Tame impala would probably be godlike.
Update: I'm just as shocked as you guys lol. What makes it even more cool is that noodle has thinking emojis on her post about it and I'm wondering if they saw this comment. Keep giving them good collab ideas guys, you never know what might happen with them.

Apparently there's no "new project" it's going to be sporadic releases over the year. Damon's trying out a new release format.

I don’t care what anyone says, The Now Now was amazing for me, I wanted a poppier Gorillaz and wanted lots of 2D singing and they delivered. It’s tied with Plastic Beach as my favorite album of theirs. I like what you say about the transitions of sounds on this track. All I gotta say, Damon is a damn genius.
Same, The Now Now is wonderful and I would argue their most sonically cohesive and consistent album to date
Totally agree, I don't really dig Humanz but I can't understand why people think The Now Now is a soso album. It's so groovy
Dude TRANZ! It’s such a banger! I totally agree. The now now was amazing!
LITERALLY SAMEEEEE the now now and plastic beach are my two favourites!! they were the first two vinyls i ever bought i love them so much i will not take any the now now slander

No Melon slavery isn't back no need to be hyped
This song is such a good use of features. Even though Slowthai really sings the majority of the words, it’s not a slowthai song, it’s a Gorillaz track. It has the Gorillaz punk rock sound that we like and both features come together to create that. Plus the production is great on this track.
