- There are cards that are so rare that they are titled "Holy Grails". In this video I not only find one of my holy grails, but a true holy grail from the 1990s. Precious Metal Gems are some of the most sought after cards, but there is something even more rare than these iconic cards. Baseball Gem Masters 1/1s were introduced in 1999 Metal Universe and are some of the most sought after and hard to find cards of the era. In this video I explain my process of finding one of these holy grail baseball cards why I think it is this specific player's best card ever.
Big shoutout to a few people who have been a huge source of information for me around cards from the 1990s. Thank you to the following:
Amit (runswithbulls23 on Instagram)
Tanner (Tan Man Baseball Fan on Twitter, RUclips, and Instagram. Also has a podcast called "Confession Of A Baseball Card Addict" on Spotify)
Ty (drummondcollector on IG, also has a few RUclips channels called Spitballin' Cards and Market Movers).
What. A. Card. Great video and congrats again on the incredible grail!🔥🔥🥂
What a find, congrats! Savor this one for a bit, for sure. Love seeing you dive back into the 90s as well. Know you're modern focused, but would love the occasional look back into Crusades, Fleer Brilliants etc etc. And shout out to the RBICru7 shop, seemed like decent dudes, followed.
Amazing pickup and congratulations! As a Griffey collector and growing up in the era its my all time favorites and collection focus. Always love seeing the lost grails reappear and be found!
Whoa. I was trying to guess what it could be given the team and age. I got the player right, but that specific card never crossed my mind because they're simply ghosts and there are a lot of other big cards from that era that hardly ever show up. That's maybe the third or fourth of ANY player that I have ever seen.
Congrats!
Really cool pickup. I've often wondered about picking up any 1/1 from the 90's, regardless of player, as a long term collectible investment.... to have one with a HOFer on it is GOAT level.
Congrats! Thanks for sharing!
I'm a hockey guy, but hearing that this was a Metal Universe card put a smile on my face. That set's become my favorite over the past few years and I'm a PMG FIEND. I've ended up with a massive Andrei Vasilevskiy PMG collection over the past few years.
Oh! And I GOT MY GRAIL from that set. Andrei Vasilevskiy Retro PMG #88/100, jersey numbered. I've had it for 3 years and I still get giddy looking at it.
Congrats on the pickup man! Amazing card!!
I live in Denver, I met Larry Walker and Quinton McCracken at a bar one night. They were super cool, and yes I definitely got their auto's!!!
Grats on attaining one of your 'grail' cards! Enjoyed the story behind getting you to the card. 😎
Congratulations on a great pickup. As a cards fan living in STL when he came, we universally loved Larry Walker.
Congratulations on your grail pick up! I've always liked Larry Walker, and his style of play. Thanks for sharing, my friend!!
i thought metal universe was so cool as a kid. design still holds up today.
Holy Grail Crap Scotty!
Love the Monty Python themed thumbnail!
Well played Scottie.
That definitely classifies as a grail card. Huge card from the 90s. Congratulations.
Awesome story, congrats on the card!
Nice pickup! Rbicru7 is my LCS and I’m in there weekly! So cool to see you go there! Also, as a Cards fan Larry Walker will always have a place in Cardinals history!
I didn’t know much about Larry Walker until I played MLB the Show. I looked him up and realized how underrated his career was. The guy is an Immaculate Grid cheat code 😊
Nice find but a video about buying a card needs the price paid to make it more interesting
Nailed it
Sweet card! Though I hail from Boston, I’ve spent a LOT of time in Colorado and the Rockies are my favorite NL team (I’m actually in Colorado as I write this!) I used to love going to Coors to watch Laaarrrry……Walk…..errrrrrr!!!
That’s a real beauty ,congrats. I have a 2020 1/1 Walker, tho not nearly as significant as yours! Thanks for sharing.
Happy for you Scottie! Congratulations 🎉🙌🏼

It took me a few years to get my 87 Topps Rob Deer graded (PSA) signed rookie card.
I watch all of Scotty’s videos and RBI is my local card shop! Great group over at RBI and always super nice to my kids!
Congrats!

Wow awesome pick up😮My favorite Rockies player was Dante Bichette his 94-96 run was great. Does anyone remember David Nied?
Yes. I got his autograph at a Richmond Braves game and had a Rockies poster of him in my room hehe
Awesome pick up, Larry Walker was a stud!
Love that Gem Master and the Pujols!
Great vid. My LCS too.
My holy grail card is a Scottie B Cards 1/1. Been looking for years.
Congratulations!
I love the 1994 to 2001 era.... I'd love to see a video going over the highlights of what's out there.,.,
Congrats on your grail
I mean the origin of the term holy grail is Jesus's cup at the last supper. Presumably he drank from only one....
My affordable grail is the 2019 topps heritage Bryce Harper throwback variation
HELL YEAH BROTHER!
Insane!!!
Congrats on the grail card! How many ‘grail cards’ do you want? Are there Mookies or Goldschmidts on your list?
I've been on a big 90's insert kick lately.
Fantastic the best amazing unreal!! 🎉🎉
How far of a drive was it to St. Peters for you? Thats my LCS
I'm from greenwood indiana and was actually thinking about taken a serious collection to indy card if the person backs out of buying them have a feeling he is. Tried to get people to check them out for a while and I dunno why but couldn't get anybody to and the guy I finally did was blown away he was like I wasn't expecting this. But unfortunately I need to sell them. So indy card exchange you may be seeing me soon
