The Rams got shut out of 3 red zone TDs in the 2nd half. Detroit won that game! That’s how you win playoff football.

I’m really unsure what Chris’s point is with us being so excited over a first playoff win in 32 years of course we’re gonna be super excited about that. I don’t care what kind of win it was it was a win nonetheless. Jared Goff and the rest of this team did something, that most of us haven’t seen in our lifetime

I think the point he was trying to make is there’s still work to be done, yeah we can celebrate but all in all the only thing we’ve achieved is getting one step closer to a superbowl and we’re out here celebrating like we won it already

    • @chriso6042

His point was they celebrated like they won the superbowl.
Previous superbowl winning teams are notoriously bad the following year. There's something to it.

It all started when I was lining up to start the 2022 NYC Marathon(Nov 6 same day as when they played the GB Packers at FF). The Lions were 1-6. At mile 23, a spectator told me the Lions beat the GB Packers. They are 21-7(including last weeks playoff win) since.

The Lions just beat probably the hottest team in the NFC that has an all-around better offense than the Bucs. Stafford played lights out and the Lions still won. It's highly unlikely the Bucs make it a close game. Stafford > Mayfield and Nakua/Kupp > Evans/Godwin. The Lions feed off of doubt though, so keep giving 'em meals. Lions by 10+.

The guy with gray hair doesn't get Detroit's mentality at all. Fans have travelled all season. "Let's go Lions!" in Dallas, LA, and KC. Cheering on the Lions has become a game in and of itself. Detroiters will try and get to 135 or 136 dBs. These fans are 100% engaged because this is an experience we've never really had. And we like the team. We like the coach. We like the GM. It's fun. There no fear of losing or thinking "Well, we won a game... guess we're done." If anything we're thinking "Gee, when you play at home, this winning in the playoff stuff is so much easier!! Let's keep doing it!!!"

Lions weren't at home against the Buccs game 6. Whose head was gonna roll if the Lions lost to the NFC's hottest team? Ben Johnson? Dan Campbell? Brad Holmes? Another bad sign, really really loud in Ford Field. Record loud. So loud, it might advantage the visiting team! (?) Lions got lucky, (sure on one call) Stafford missed some guys and there were drops. How many drops? Did they even watch the flying game. Stafford was amazing. This was a great example of, "we feed data through a computer, get our picks, and then say words.

The Eagles quit! What happened the last time Tampa Bay played Detroit ? Tampa applied pressure and the Lions picked them apart! The Lions are at home and hungry and there going to eat! The LA game what did the Rams do in the 3th and 4th quarter and in the red zone I'll tell you nothing!
The last time the Lions played Tampa there were not healthy. both running backs were out there offense of line was in shambles. Why is it when the Lions win it was lucky and they didnt earn it. The Lions may not cover the spread but they will win this game and you will see them in the NFC championship game.

Obviously Chris didn't do his home work on Goff. Yes, he is bad when he is pressured that gets to him but his stats against the blitz has him 7th in the league against it because he has too many weapons to dump to. All this talk about Baker was identical to their first meeting and Detroit tore him up. This will be the same because this will be home and Loud.

Bucs fan here. I think it's difficult not to take the Lions here. Before the season began the Lions were expected to be a really good team, and they stepped up to those expectations. Dan is a great HC and he is going to have a long career. That said, celebration isn't what worries me - it's pressure. Lions have far more pressure on them than the Bucs, and I'm sure winning last week against the Rams felt great in the end, but I'm also sure that everyone was holding their breath. The Lions have to beat the Bucs, and it's not going to be easy. Mistakes happen when everyone has to be laser focused against a tough opponent who has nothing to lose. The Bucs don't have to win. Nobody expected them to be here and they lose nothing if they go out there loosened up and having fun. The Bucs don't even gain much if they win - basically bonus games at this point. And I'm not saying the Lions can't cushion the pressure, it's just that when everything is so tight, cracks can happen, and the Bucs have taken lethal advantage of those moments all season. Both of these teams played stinkers this season. Lions played filled up on spoiled milk against the Packers on Thanksgiving, and got lit up by the Ravens in week 7. So, as good as the Lions are, they're not impervious. Personally, I think the Lions will win, but I believe the Bucs have what it takes, and even worse for the Lions - the Bucs believe they have what it takes. All I know, is the Lions better be ready, while the Bucs just want to have a good time.

People make it sound like Goff is Zach Wilson bad against the blitz 😂 He is not going to scramble and create but the Lions scheme for him to have an outlet. Blitzing was the Vikings whole game plan and it didn’t work. Detroit took Tampa Bay seriously last time they played and will again. It will be a good game.

And Detroit pass defense is atrocious. I pray they don’t get them that I’m hoping they can get to Mayfield before he impasse make him do it he did last time they played them but if they get to pass and he gets to pass and feels comfortable, we’re in trouble.

Tampa Bay couldn’t stand the blitz last time we played him that’s why we beat them. Remember them kicking the ball out of Dennis home Detroit can do the same thing.
