Welcome to the official RUclips channel of chart-topping female R&B vocal group, En Vogue. This is the home of 90s hits “Hold On,” “My Lovin’ (You’re Never Gonna Get It),” “Giving Him Something He Can Feel,” “Free Your Mind,” and “Don’t Let Go (Love)” among successful albums ‘Born To Sing,’ ‘Funky Divas,’ and ‘EV3,’ and numerous awards and nominations.
En Vogue was formed by producers Denzil Foster and Thomas McElroy under the vision of a modern R&B girl group with strong vocals, intelligence, and show-stopping glamour. Dawn Robinson, Cindy Herron, Maxine Jones, and Terry Ellis made the cut out of 3,000 women who auditioned. The group was an immediate hit upon their first single in 1990 and set the standard for female vocal groups. Through the evolution of the lineup to the current members of Herron-Braggs, Ellis, and Rhona Bennett, En Vogue continues to tour, release new music, and dazzle and inspire fans everywhere. This song should've been a huge hit.
It was very hard to follow the global smash hit "Don't Let Go (Love)" but I agree, at least "Too Gone, Too Long" barely made Top 20 in UK
So right. I still played this song like it was a no. 1 hit. Good Times 1997!
@@Fonthandler me too👍
No promotion in UK, but some in the US.....EV slowed promo due to Cindy's & Max families..
I disagree . Compared to their other stuff this is straight trash. Production is a lot of the story
Terry did that!!!
Cause his Mama taught him that ❤😅🎉
This song should’ve been just as big a hit as Don’t Let Go.
💯
…big facts!!!
This song is so underrated.
The harmonies, at bridge Maxine brought it in and That Terry Ellis 🙌🏿🙌🏿
exactly i keep rewinding that part
Best part of the track! Although I wished they would’ve modulated for the rest of the song at 3:26, instead of returning to the original key. Irks me everytime! And Terry Ellis is up there full voice🔥💯
@@bogwinkled yes GOODNESS......
I think this song was really a shot towards dawn🤣🤣🤣
@@Rambo20244 lmfao I thought I was the only one lookin at a "subliminal message" 😂😆🤷🏾♂️🤦🏿♂️
The matrix before the matrix. That’s how iconic En Vogue’s videography is ❤
I always wondered how they made this video
Terry slayed this!!!!
She gives me goosebumps and she's drop dead gorgeous as well!
Yes!!
Yeah! Terry was on point!! Max was lovely with that bottom range and Cindy's soprano was tight.
that was actually dawn but dawn was too long too gone
Back when artists could actually sing and had talent. Absolutely flawless
favorite En Vogue song...
vocals are INSANE
absolutely right!....would have loved to hear Dawns part before it was cut!...Im sure she would have turned it!!
Tajriq El werdd
Same here.. 😂😂
My favourite too :)
SOOOOO underrated! This is absolutely one of their best tracks.
3:19 Love how their powerful distinctive harmonies shattered all the windows.
Stunning vocals - this song still sounds new in 2022. Definitely in a class by themselves!
No one want to see them on Verzuz! En Vogue will always any girl group
And even STILL in October of 2024! 🎶
Terry and Max's voice sound great on this toward the end. Terry's high clear belts and Max's lower voice with a distinct tone. This song is vocal magic. Shame it wasn't a huge hit.
I will always love En Vogue...however Ms. Terry.....that woman can SANG!!! Always been my favorite 💛
Sang baby!
An underrated Diane Warren/David Foster masterpiece!
Trey Robertson absolutely. Dawn's abrupt leaving really put a damper on the singles but they were strong singles. If Dawn would've stayed I would have killed to see a video for Damn I wanna be your Lover.
@@TRobert97 Terry actually sang the entire lead on Damn, I Wanna Be...
@@TRobert97 From what I read at the time, Dawn staying or going had nothing to do with Damn! being released as a single or video, but it's unfortunate it didn't get it's turn at either, IMO.
@@jamiebaxter7965 yeah
Very similar to Whitney Houston I learn from the best
Terry was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Cindy so pretty 🦋
Terri gives me chills everytime she opens her mouth!!! I still love this song
This song will always be a hit
Teri killed this song. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
I love this song. These women sing like crazy
They are so beautiful
Sing , Terry
They all look fabulous... But Terry is DA BOMB!!
Vocals on point. These ladies set the standard. No Girl Group in the last 30 years comes close!!!
Vocals wow
Help it's there
Check it
I think it's a trip
That's the truth!
At 2:55 Terry sang her ass off on that part of the song. 🔥
Maxine! Gorgeous! Damn! That voice!
This song got me through a difficult break up
Same 😛
I remember being stationed in Colorado when this came out...first album without Dawn...but they still nailed it!
I was stationed at Cannon AFB, NM at the time when this was released, after returning from Kadena AB, Okinawa!!!! At that time I was going through a horrible break up and I ran this song so much!!!! 90's is an unforgettable era!!!!
Terry's voice are everything!😊
Cindy Herron 😍😍😍😍😍 MY GOODNESS!!! Beauty personified!!!

MegaBrooks2010 tyuu

Cindy has always been my favorite.
This was one of their final hits. From 1998. A really great piece of music.
they were in they own class
I can't stop replaying this over and over and over and over...…….
old school has never sounded so good... enjoying the best
Awwh cocktail
man they are ALL so strong vocally. I MISS my girls! Best female vocal group in a long time.
One of my favorite En Vogue song 🎵 🖤
i wish dawn had stayed for this single would loved to have heard her parts on this song its a crime this wasnt a bigger hit for them at the time
Im sure there is a copy of all four singing this!....somewhere!....
It needs to be leaked same with the original version of Whatever with Dawn it, hell the original EV3 album with Dawn needs to leak
I sure wish it could be found. I would love to hear it....
The end part of the song is dawn voice she recorded before she left
@@moonstar247 no it was Terry. She took over Dawn's parts on this song. Dawn backing vocals are still on here though. Surprisingly her and Dawn vocals are kind of similar
These three beautiful ladies can sing. Those vocals are amazing.
Beautiful timeless song and En Vogue is so very talented ❤
It's 2021 and this still sounds awesome!
Terry has the voice period
They can all sing
She sung the hell out of this song and that high note....gave me chills.
She was definitely the star on this track, but they’re all super talented and beautiful!
Alicia Myrick yes!
Terry was always one of my top voices in the group, and she still sounds great today unlike some of the others...
Underrated song!! 💕
One of En Vogue all times best songs..the girls look stunning here
I freaking love this song.
2:54 gave me the ultimate chills. Every single hair is raised to the fucking ceiling. My God 😍😍😍😍
Shireen Joseph facts
all the feels!
Epic!
This!!!!
Sing that song Terry!!!!!
You ain’t lying any song she sings is pure magic
Yaaassss 2022 and it still gives the same feeling as it did when it first came out. Masterpiece.
That bridge wow! then i realized that Diane Warren wrote it.
She loves her bridges.
The whole EV3 CD is good, but 4 songs are complete awesomeness: Whatever, Dont Let Go (Love), Too Gone Too Long and Damn, I Wanna Be Your Lover.
In 1000% agreement with you.
i have the Japanese import which has 3 additional songs which are not in the US release!!!......Its all about love.......Ive got your gun and Keep your money.....and Dawn is in all of them!!
Jose Luis Borrero Facts, Dawn recorded most of the EV3 album before leaving. They were nearly finished with the album before she left.
humpty dumpty ....they say she was in this song, but cut her part out......thaats why maaxines part is so short...could it be true?.....
Jose Luis Borrero she was the suppose to end the song instead of terry
My favorite song by my favorite girl group, En Vogue. Released in 1997, This whole album (EV3) was a masterpiece. Even as 3, without Dawn, their vocals were still flawless. The production of this track, the vocals, the music video everything. Classic
You can thank David Foster for that.
The irony is that Dawn’s background vocals are still in the song
@benfoldsfiveforever I know. A lot of the songs she'd already recorded vocals on before she left the group and they didn't have time to re-arrange them. A lot of her vocals are still on the album because when she left the group, they had already begun recording the album that was originally gonna be called Friendship
My favorite En Vogue song.
mine too
Best ever
When I was in my teens I was a Terry fanatic! So fine .....and that voice.
Terry has some beautiful legss😍
This is my 1st time hearing this song and I love it for all of my ex's!! 🥰🥰🤣🤣🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️ And when Terry hit that note....BABY....the goosebumps I felt WAS REAL!! 🤗🤗💖💯 I miss our original 4!! 😩😩😪😪
Maxine did her thing in this song.....
She is my favorite. :-)
That was Terry I thought with the wide range?
Actually that's Terri singing with the powerful range she's the only member to have a 5 octave range which was also shown in Dont Go
William o'neal it is Terri Maxine sang the first verse and the first half of the bridge
Yes she did
This should have been # 1~
Agreed!!
This is one of favorite En Vogue tracks. All 3 sung their hearts out in this song but Terri really slayed!!!!!!!
Cindy And Terry....love them!!!
Terry and Cindy are true warriors----thru everything they soldier on!! Thank GOD for Rhona, too!!
En Vogue will always be number 1
Seriously. One of their BEST SONGS. I too wonder about how Dawn would have contributed but listen to it and listen again and again and again. AMAZING.
She’s on this one in background vocals
@@dwaynemartinez that figures then because the harmonies are off the hook, they are the beset with Dawn.
@@richardcorona3564 yeah dawn comes in at the end also to but yesssss 4 of them together their Harmonies are incredible but dawn adds something different it’s something about her idk 🔥🔥🔥
dawn would have carried omggg
En Vogue, there’s no girl group that can match them!
I can try soul to sing it on karaoke
Except for Brownstone
Jade were pretty close and Allure had mad potential. Not to mention Brownstone and SWV as well.
someone new is loving me, loving you is what used to be!! awesome lyrics
Terry's voice was always my favorite. Very strong and clear.
Mega talent in this group.
AMAZING VOCALS! I miss hearing Dawn with the ladies. Great song 🎶
This song took me so long to find. I was in 7th grade when it came out and would get so excited when it played on MTV because I didn’t have cable so I’d see it over at my aunts house. So happy to have found it.
" I don't need ya! I want ya!!" Ugh I love her voice so much!🙌🏿🥰
Cindy’s facial expressions give me life!
Dawn would have killed this song.. I can hear her belting out her original 'Baby you're too late...' part and the outgoing adlibs.. her vocals and presence is obvious and missed on EV3 even though her background vocals still remain.
I heard that's exactly where she was supposed to be. On the end part where Terry was.
@@tiffj4470 I can't imagine hearing Dawn singing those high notes as well as Terry in this song. But Dawn can sang too but Terry BODIED those high notes.
The album track goes on another 30 seconds longer than this video, and you can hear Dawn's vocals there.
Why is this song so underrated? Why is this not available on imusic? 😩😩😩
This a true hot hit for the super group envogue
I have always loved En Vogue since they dropped their 1st album "Born To Sing" & their songs have followed me to this very day If i had too pick my fave id have to pick this song cuz it simply touches my soul the way they sung this tune plus their fashions have always killed it Just miss having a 4th 4 the group as they originally started out
June 2024 ♥️🔥
Yes still a banger til this day! Love this but wish they would have had Dawn’s original verse and all 4 of them. But Terry goes in the studio and redoes Dawn’s part
These ladies sang straight from the heart. There voices are clear and pure.Listening to this song after a breakup can really get you deep in your feelings. After all these years this group still touches my soul. However I still believe that Dawn could have taken the group as a whole to an entirely different level. She possessed an aura of passion for the music in her singing that drew you in and made you want hit the repeat button with that special someone and pull an all nighter!!!!!!!
Dont recall having heard this tune prior, but happy to now.
Awesome rendition of it all.
SWEEEET,,,
👏🏾👏🏽👏🏾👏🏽👏🏾👏🏽👏🏾👏🏽👏🏾👏🏽🇨🇼🇩🇲🇨🇦
Do the kids know about these harmonies...real music lives on
Sing and brake the glass ladies! Yeeess!
This reminds me of ‘I Learned From the Best’ by Whitney. Same writer/composer?
Marty Dennis you’re right
Yes Diane Warren wrote both this and the Whitney song. Both songs were also produced by David Foster.

I agree, they're both so similar. Makes sense as to why both songs get simultaneously stuck in my head together (not that I'm complaining, they're both good songs!)
Fr some deep shit.wouldve sold my soul then just to have you back again now you're the last thing on my mind.whitney that shit deep I swear to good is true that feeling not normal u feel like you want to literally die.love is not normal that's not a human feeling trust me
Omg MAX!!!!! 🤯🤯🤯🤯 VOCALS!!!!!!!!
In 2018 I'm still here jamming
just discovered this song! wow. amazing. classic en vogue, has a "don't let go" vibe. AWESOME!
Gorgeous, talented, classy... Simply the best!!!
Another piece of musical craft from the mindset of the INCOMPARABLE Ms. Diane Warren...
Terry is so fine.
❤ this got me through some ruff days
What happened to songs like this one? Empowering woman to find true love and not settle. The good ole days!
ikr. it is these kind of songs that got through our dramas in life
twerking and butt shots because today's generation of girls adore players and not real men!
And vocalists like that, who are not only beautififul but present themselves in such a classy, sophisticated way as well. The whole video looks so pleasing, look at how they are all dressed even the models etc. so unusual these days in music videos.
Ole days
Stuffers
Their harmonies hit the ear wells with finesse.
Who is listening in 2019,;this is my favorite from them
2020
Love these Ladies.
Time flies so fast and this song still in my head, masterpiece :)
THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A NUMBER ONE
Cindy was always a big crush I had growing up and she is still gorgeous to this day.
I get it! She is absolutely beautiful
This song takes me back, and such an underrated gem!!!
agree
One of the best songs EEEEEVER
Amazing song, beautiful video, gorgeous ladies!
I wish En Vogue would have been bigger stars they were the first female group of the 90s that became successful before TLC came out
Omg these were my girls! No female group could come close 2 En Vogue. Sorry but not sorry.
SWV
+Ambesa Makubalo Sisters With NO Voices? En Vogue>>>>>>>Them
BYE!
The Spice Girls came close to En Vogue before far supassing them to became the most successful Female Group of all time.TLC and Destiny's Child surpassed En Vogue as well,
@117337148568008017527 The Spice Girls are okay but they don't hold a candle to En Vogue's vocals. We all know The Spice Girls are the most successful girl group of all time. I was speaking on vocals alone.
QueenMariahCarey
Yes it is true that En Vogue's vocals were far superior to the Spice Girls yet the Spice Girls went to show that having a cute fun appealing marketable image would sell a lot more than having vocal talent.
I still have this video recorded still, I still have the CD. This song is truly amazing
Terry Ellis❤❤❤❤❤
Dec 2021... still love this
