What makes me sad is this music was the backdrop of my childhood. Because it was always there, I took it for granted. Had no idea of the direction in which music would devolve, and I didn’t appreciate it until years later. I don’t think any of us knew how good we had it. The 90s was not just the zenith of R&B music, I think it was the zenith of America. We were on this upward trajectory, we weren’t mired down in any wars, and then boom, 9/11 broke us and sent us into a downward spiral. Music became more and more artificial, you have the rise of autotune and music stardom for people that can’t actually sing, and essentially the death of R&B. The 90s was our Golden Age.

    LYRICS
I don't want to rain on this parade
But I'm starting to question the love that was made
I'm not looking for just an affair
I want a love that is based on truth not just dare
You will not hurt my pride if right now you decide
That you are not ready to settle down
But if you want my heart then it's time that you start
To act like you're mine in the light and the dark
If you love me, say it
If you trust me, do it
If you want me, show it
If you need me, prove it
If you love me, say it
If you trust me, do it
If you want me, show it
If you need me, prove it
You see now actions speak louder than words
So don't just say things that I've already heard
Don't want your body without your soul
I don't want a love who will come here and go
You will not hurt my pride if right now you decide
That you are not ready to settle down
But if you want my heart then it's time that you start
To act like you're mine in the light and the dark
If you love me, say it
If you trust me, do it
If you want me, show it
If you need me, prove it
If you love me, say it
If you trust me, do it
If you want me, show it
    Prove it
If you love me, say it
If you want me, baby, do it
    Show it, prove it
Say it, do it, show it, prove it
Oh I, Oh I, I want to touch you, baby
And spread my love all around you, honey

I’ve always loved this song, but only just now been blown away by the masterpiece that ensues from 2:37 onwards. 🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍

OMG, you've got that right, Dwayne. As I sat in my seat in front of my computer and listened, the frown and wince on my face from a good place came on as I listened to their voices making their climatic beautiful music. I totally felt all of it, but definitely from the 2:37 on. It is incredibly delicious...YAY!

I miss the old days, God We had the Best music, Beautiful Ladies, with the most incredible Voices. Music was Real and it meant something when you heard it for the FIRST TIME. Only if we could roll back time. 80s and 90s.
