One of the best intros ever. En Vogue's harmonies were on a level no other group could touch. 1990s queens
Yes, I agree.
Brownstone had the best harmony
that what a casting group is castet for youngsta
Please don't get offended if I call it ICONIC‼️
You can thank Smokey Robinson for the intro. He wrote it in 1960.
Their harmonies were mind blowing 🤯 Best female group of the 90’s 🔥
You will get some pushback on this because of how many great female R&B groups were in the '90s, but I'll back you up on this one.....En Vogue blazed the trail....
Brownstone had a bomb as harmony as well. I would not say best but very good.

Right?!
The difference between En Vogue and other women singers is that ALL of them can SANG. Not just one individual. The track still sounds as ever, in other words, a classic.
Thanks for not comparing, everyone is different in their own way. Great song, memories and melody. They look great ! Love them
💯
All of them had to be lead singers. That should be a requirement for all these groups.
@@msangthrope5396 Thank you, somebody has said it! THIS is what a girl group (or any group for that matter) should be. ALL of the members of any group should be the lead singer. Otherwise, it's just a solo singer with backup.
@@msangthrope5396 God bless you 💯
This 1990 hit is probably the best R&B song from the whole decade 💯
That beat drop was everything!😊❤
No, everything is much larger, and been around far longer.
The new female singers can't even compare. When music was real, no auto tune
Isn't that still real?
A combination of voices like this only comes around once every couple decades.

The GIRLS..ICONIC.....🤗😊😎bb
Yes, I agree with you.
Sad to write, but I think your right.
Their incredible voices can make you forget that this song also has the hardest beat drop in R&B history.
I'm surprised it isn't sampled more..
while its a casting band and only 1 real singer was involved who never get any media attetion ( aka lipsingers aka acapella) because its a major label casting band like milly vanilly. en vogue is signed to the same major label with the same production team .

Just came here to say the same 😁
Same here. I was very much an MC long haired wearing metalhead when this came out and loved this group.
As a 44 year old white guy who started listening to hip hop and rb in the late 80s, En Vogue were the shit. This was their first single I believe-shit hit hard with both vocals and beat. They ushered in a great time for female rnb through the 90s-TLC, Jade, SWV, Xscape, Brownstone, Total, etc. I was in love with Cindy-convinced I was going meet her when I was 13 lol.
Well I just read she went through divorce so she's now single. It's your chance! lol!!

@@roberttange805 🤦♀️😂😂😂😂😂 What are you babbling on about. You are 100% incorrect. R&B (Rhythm Blues) music started in the 1940's, one of the earliest performers is Louis Jordan ( 1944, Is You Is, Or Is You Ain't My Baby). So before you continue to repeat your ignorance on social media platforms. Take some time and do some research and educate yourself.
Casting for a group does not equal 'no talent'. In 1988, 3000 women showed up for the auditions. These beautiful women can actually sing. Please provide evidence of them lip-synching on any of their records or performances. I don't care what you say: they were powerful, gorgeous, wonderful singers and performers. @@roberttange805

The most beautiful girl group ever. If only they could've acheived half of what groups like Destini Child did in Royalties. I saw them at the Grammy's a couple of years ago they still got it!
Pretty sure Destiny's Child receive royalties because they wrote their own songs.
😂 and what does Destiny Child have to do with En Vogue??? Just curious.... two different groups in totally two different eras 😂 I love the beautiful ladies of En vogue and Destiny’s Child, but DC was kids when this group was out and the era of music had definitely changed since the debut of Destiny Child!!! True, I agree.
Cindy's growls are sooo effortless throughout this song. She masters the subtle growl. Love it
Man, that's always been one of my favorite details of this song! Mastered it!! Not only is it perfectly subtle but strong enough to be felt. She places them masterful as well...used multiple times but never for once, even remotely, seemed over used or unnatural. Iconic.

Such a great group. They were the "Supremes'" of the nineties. So classy, talented and they could SANG! It's long overdue for a reunion. I love to see them record and perform again.
