    I tried it on a spoon carved from cotton wood bark, a little to soft for some of this detail but it’s alright for the first try.
    Thanks again cheers! 🤙🏻👊🏻

    Bonjour, j’ai toujours beaucoup de plaisir à vous regarder pour sculpter de nouveaux hiboux dont je fais cadeau à mes amis. Vous sculptez avec ds gants anti coupures particulièrement intéressants vu que ceux que vous utilisez ne déteignent pas, contrairement à ceux que moi j’ai trouvé. Pouvez-vous me donner les références de ces gants svp ? C’est tellement rare de voir les sculpteurs utiliser de tels gants. Merci pour votre réponse. Michèle

    Encore un mot : vous êtes un des rares à employer des gants. Bravo ! Puis-je avoir les références des vôtres parce que les miens possèdent une paume noire qui déteint sur le bois blanc.

    17:17 hello ! Merci pour cette vide instructive. Ce hibou est très mignon. Un peu délicat pour positionner ses ailes. Mais j’ai pensé qu’en délimitant discrètement quelques points à relier entre eux, la forme de l’aile deviendrait plus aisée à réaliser. J’ai utilisé du saule frais pour sa réalisation. Réalisez-vous d.autres oiseaux ? Merci pour votre réponse. Michèle

    those random talks u have while u carve, i like those small stuff u say, its comforting, like u said nothing is perfect, so the carve doesnt really HAVE to be perfect, a little defect is okay lol, it is something very minor but, like me, it could make someone feel a bit better about this

    this is so cool! do you think wooden dowels, like from craft stores, would be a good wood for whittling? i'd be interested to see a video on that. they're so skinny....

    • @SpoonsandSpirits
      @SpoonsandSpirits  3 года назад +2

      Craft store wood works well as long as it's not balsa wood, but you have given me an idea for a video thanks! Watch this space ...

    Great vid.
    Just whittled my first thing today - A Mushroom!
    Not great but it was fun to do.
    Is there a brand of U gouge you would recommend from Amazon?
    Thank you.

    • @SpoonsandSpirits
      @SpoonsandSpirits  3 года назад +1

      Thats awesome well done! As for gouges, if you're on a budget, most of the cheap unbranded sets will do you well for a while but the dont hold sharpeness well and are phones to chipping. If you want to spend a little more though, you can never go wrong with flexcut, go for the starter sk travel set to give you a feel.

    • @broken1394

      @@SpoonsandSpirits thanks v much for the recommendations.
      I'll keep an eye out for them.
      I probably should make sure i'm into it before splurging for the flexcut set.
      Happy to be a dirt rider for a while.
      Starting out with a SAK and Opinel 4 and 5!
      Hope your well out there!

    Do you happen to know the size and sweep of the U gouge?

    • @SpoonsandSpirits
      @SpoonsandSpirits  3 года назад +1

      I'm not sure as it was from a cheap set which has since broken but to hazard a guess I'd say it was a #9 approx 0.75 cm
