It's a shame..but lawler did make money doing that too. What's crazy to me is the guy has the first five star match with Terry funk and possibly the worst mania match with micheal Cole to his credit.
@@chuckles9767 But Memphis was one of the few territories Vince actively did NOT want to put under or look like a joke, and they worked together. Hell Vince was doing his heel schtick there in memphis in 1994, long before the attitude era.
I never had the chance to see any of these guys in their prime, definitely makes me view jerry in a different light.
@@chuckles9767 He didn't buy them out, some group from Cincinatti bought them out, mismanaged it into the ground. Neither vince nor WWE own the library either. (Neither does lawler for that matter, a lot of it is public domain now.). He wanted USWA to survive as he knew anything to do with Jerry Jarrett would get quality new talent, he also didn't want World Class to go under because he eventually wanted to hire the boys.

Dam does this bring back memories!! I grew up in Southern Indiana about an hour north of Louisville & my brother & I never missed wrestling outta Louisville on Saturday mornings(channel 3) from '79-80 until about '88-89. As far I'm concerned Lance Russell & Dave Brown were the best wrestling announcers ever. They knew when to speak & when to let the action speak for itself. Whether it was Lawler or Dundee or Nick Bockwinkle or Harley Race or Ric Flair or the Fabulous Ones or the Road Warriors or Andre the Giant or you name it, we saw every wrestling great from that time frame on that show. It's a crime they don't have the original tapes from all those Saturday morning shows bcuz those tapes deserve to be seen by everyone who enjoys wrestling. That show truly was the epitome of wrestling during that time

I can't tell if anyone wants Jim to address the Chris Jericho situation. It seems like it's not a very big deal and not many people are talking or wondering about it.
Seems like an ideal situation. Two top guys that could wage an unending war for domination of a territory. My fave Era of Smackdown was Taker vs Batista vs Edge. Each had cutouts, other guys they could potentially feud with, while the other 2 fought over the championship.
