I was 9 and would go see Mid South in Lafayette. Right down the road was a Popeyes Fried Chicken. Me my friend and my dad would go get a 2 piece with red beans and rice, before the show. Robert Gibson walked into the Popeyes. I was star struck, and will never forget that moment 😊.

Having lived in Thibodaux while working in Houma, in ‘98, this is fascinating! When I was a kid, living in Eunice, La., I saw Mid-South once at the Eunice High School gym. The only thing I remember about it was that Ted DiBiase and Mr. Olympia were there and both faces.

I had been watching Mid-South wrestling for 3 or 4 years when Jim cornette came along. We had been so use to skandor Akbar being the heel manager that when JC came along it was such a different presentation and it really Drew us in. Bill Watts knew we needed something different and he was right. To think that the rock and roll in Midnight we're not exactly a full-blown proven commodity yet I believe, was part of the magic. Jared didn't know how rich he was letting that crop of talent ride out. All I know is by the time the rock and roll are shoving corny space in the cake I was hooked. And have been for 40 years.

Man, stories like the ones Corny told at the beginning. That's how brothers are truly formed. Those are some legit bonds and ties when you're literally protecting your teammates. Their lives are in your hands every night. I can't imagine the implicit trust between Bobby, Dennis and Jim around this time.
No wonder why The Midnight stayed close for 40 years.
