    Here’s a tip that might help any system mature within your own game.
    So I came up with a different language for negative counts. I sort of combined using d-1 d-2 d-3 into:
    Dip:0
    Done: -1
    Doo: -2
    Dee: -3
    Door: -4
    Dive: -5
    Dix: -6
    Deven: -7
    Date: -8
    Dine: -9
    Den: -10
    Deleven: -11
    And for 12 and on just use regular language. This is for new and old counters who sometimes get a count like -3 and 3 mixed up at times when you end the last hand not saying negative or “d” before the number (it happens especially when the number in the last hand drastically changes).
    So give it a try, it might take an hour or two of practice but it definitely helped me mature into an ap quicker and avoided a lot of mistakes.

      I start at 100. High cards are +1, low cards -1.
      So anytime count is below 100 our advantage anytime it's above 100 house advantage.
      This removes all the hassle of switching from negative to positive and the same numbers -20 to +20 for example is 80 to 120.
      Much easier i was having big difficulty but now it's easy.

    The thing I always tell people when they say that counting cards is cheating is that it’s no different than playing Bridge. The casinos just want to keep players drunk and stupid. Keeping track of what cards have been played (in your head) is simply playing well.
    Here’s a quote anout keeping track of what cards have been played in Bridge.
    “How do you remember the cards in bridge?
    Remembering what has happened is one of the skills of the game. At the beginning of each hand, the four players, who are paired into two teams, have 13 cards each. As the cards are played, it is vital that you keep track of how many in each suit have gone.”

      IF you can pull it off and play the new system accurately, yes, but if not, no. The only thing that really matters is if you can play the system accurately/well. It's better to play a weaker system perfectly than play a more difficult system and make a bunch of mistakes.
      Red Zen or Red Seven, I'm not familiar with the Red Zen count. I play a modified version of the Zen count myself. I believe the system Snyder presents in his book was called Zen lite, or Red 7.

    I'm wondering if it's better to play with a full table, head to head, or is there a magic number of players to have at the table? Would more player make the count harder or better since you have more time?

    • @Moley1Moleo
      @Moley1Moleo 3 года назад

      Mathematically, I think head-to-head is best since you can play more hands per hour.
      (And if you're slow at counting, you can take your time and control the pace of the game, since no other players are there to get mad at you slowing the game down, or to choose to hit really fast and go bust before you can keep track.)
      Maybe you'll get a bit more heat since no one else is around changing their bets, so your bet spread will seem a bit more obvious.
      But even then, if you play twice as many hands, and get backed-off in half the time, then that is still a small benefit, since you get the same amount of EV but have some free time now (perhaps to go to another casino).

      You still gotta keep track of ur running count when counting cards. True count is used for Blackjack deviations (playing deviations and betting decisions). For example, you would buy insurance iff the TC is 3 or higher. Normally, buying insurance is against basic strategy, but when the TC is high, higher cards are more likely to come from the deck. Likewise, you will bet more when the TC is higher bc you will have an advantage.

    thoughts on omega 2? i'm tired of doubling down on an 11 with a tc of 5 just to draw an ace. it's harder to keep track but i'm starting to get the hang of it. i figure another 50 more hours or so and i'll be able to test it out in a casino setting. plus, 9 isn't really a neutral card. i like how omega 2 counts it as -1 and differentiates the difference between 2,3,7 and 4,5,6

    • @mydogskips2
      @mydogskips2 4 года назад

      IF you can master it, go for it, but just remember, whatever system you play, you will always be playing probabilities, it's just the nature of the game, and you will still have times where you get bad draws. Probably the worst hand I've ever lost was doubling down on 11 vs dealer 5 with a big bet on the table and a sky-high count, I got a low card and the dealer made a hand -- you can do everything right and still lose, it's a game of probabilities and averages, not certainty, and the best we can hope for is that things work out as they are supposed to in the long run.
      I've looked into many systems including Omega II, I own Bryce Carlson's book Blackjack for Blood and have read it, but I believe Zen (Arnold Snyder's system presented in Blackbelt in Blackjack) is a better system to play. Zen is also a level 2 system, but it's easier and I believe more accurate where it matters most, in betting correlation. The semi neutralized ace also correlates better for playing deviations, and the insurance correlation is much better as well.
      And by the way, counting the 9 as -1 does create problems, if you read Brett Harris's detailed and exhaustive report, he explains in detail why this is. In fact, his system, dubbed as Brh-2 is supposed to be more accurate than Omega II because it "fixes" some of the problems inherent in Omega II, however, if I remember right, it's been a long time since I studied it, Brh-2 is an unbalanced system whereas Omega II is balanced.

    • @GaryLuKOTH
      @GaryLuKOTH 5 лет назад +2

      If the count is positive, do not leave the table at all. Other players do not affect your odds of winning (people think they do because they take the good and bad cards but note that this does not change the probability that you or the dealer gets good or bad cards. The other players are equally likely to help or hurt you). The bad part of their coming to the table though is that they are causing more hands to be played which leads you to play fewer hands of positive count.

    I would love a player as good as Colin to explain to me how it is possible to have above a 50% ROR if you are playing at an advantage. Let’s assume you bet essentially your entire bankroll in 1 bet (with enough $ for splits and doubles or the entire bankroll on 1 bet without any splits/doubles) with a true count of 2 or more, obviously the risk would be high but how could it be most likely to lose? It makes way less sense considering these other numbers such as a 1-15 bet spread with a 5 figure bankroll playing at an advantage and having an 80% ROR! I know you pros are smart, the software is good, I have learned almost everything I know from you all, and I haven’t found Colin to be incorrect on any math/numbers he has mentioned but this just make no mathematical sense to me at all. Ryan Colangione I never said you win more than 50%. Of the time which I assume is what you were trying to say because “win 50% or better” is a statement that doesn’t make sense. The positive EV comes from blackjacks, double downs, and the fact the in higher counts those more commonly work out in the players favor and on top of that the dealer is more likely to bust on every hand since they are required to hit 12-16 and the player isn’t. Clearly you don’t have an answer so don’t worry about answering it then.

I personally keep 1 hand under the table with 1-2-3-4-5 fingers up and when the count gets to 6 I go back to 1 finger while remembering the general count I will know if it is positive or negative, or if it is +1 or +6. If you've read Stanford Wong's books and indeed play his Halves system accurately, you are likely well beyond the scope of many of Colin's videos.
      Personally, I do not believe Wong Halves to be a viable system for the overwhelmingly vast majority of players, it is simply too difficult to master, and in my opinion, it does not confer enough of an advantage to make it worth the extra effort.
      But Kudos to you if you can do it. I would tell you to look into the Uston APC, the system is laid out in his book Million Dollar Blackjack if I remember right. It's also a level 3 system like Wong Halves, but I think it's easier to count and it's actually a slightly more powerful system as well.

      That’s a vague question. It depends on your bet spread and what your table rules are.

    Would have been nice for you to show a real actual example of you playing this out for you to just verbally explain it isn't just enough

      It's very hard to show an example if there is a ton of variance while playing. That's why people constantly say "trust the math", or if you want, you can do the math yourself.

    Ace Five Count works, but don't overbet! Chances are another player will snag your blackjack or the dealer gets it. So don't go table max, you'll be sorry!
