      i am guessing that if a supervisor seeing some unusual play.. perhaps looks like dealer is cheating to cause friends to win. they will swap out the dealer.. And they might do this on a regular basis to make that kind of activity less valuable?? and create difficulties.. and if the players leave for another table after the dealer swap.. it might give them additional clues that there was collaboration with the dealer? and they might identify all the players and flag them with that particular dealer and any time they are playing with that dealer again they might pay extra attention??

    What is the point, at least in the large corporate owned casinos of trying to cheat like this? Does the dealer have any incentive to do so?

  • @tmtmtlsml
    @tmtmtlsml Год назад +34

    At the casino I dealt at, most of these cheating methods are impossible due to how we were trained. For example, on the multicolor payout, we have to separate all the colors and then pay accordingly. If we were to try to pay in one stack such as in the video and there was a question about the payout being correct, we'd *at minimum* get written up for paying out a multicolor stack like that. If anything, this video shows that players should pay attention to how disciplined/casual dealers are. If they're too relaxed about things like payouts (especially at the $100+ level) then it's could be a sign of something bigger like management apathy to running a clean game

      No. These things just don't happen. They are all things from the 60's and 70's. Maybe the 80's some. But policies and procedures all but eliminated these cheats to create a fair clean game. I'm coming from around a decade of experience as a dealer and floor. All of these techniques would be spotted instantly and the dealer would lose his/her gaming license. The most common cheats today are when dealer over pay players to earn more tips. Casinos today won't give a dealer anything for taking money from players (I would know I was a cooler lol.) So dealers are incentivized by paying players to earn tips.

      I play mostly BJ at casio's in the US but I change tables if I am not getting mostly wimming hands, I will change tables until I do and always protect wins. When I am looking for a winning table I am usually carrying a hand full of green and red chips. When I walk by a roulette table with no bets on #32 (Jim Browns Number), I always put a red chip straight up on it . I have won this bet so many times I lost count but it has been a lot and I always walk away when I hit it. About 10 years ago I placed that exact bet in an Indian casino in Iowa. I clearly placed the bet in the middle of the number way before the sealer said "No More Bets" and a munite latter the ball landed on 32. The pit boss was watching the table and walked over and picked up my red chip and said I placed the bet too late. I asked to talk to the casino manager first who didn't show up.and then asked to file a complaint witch I did. When I came back the next day I was told my chip was touching the line of anather number and only paid me half of what they owed me. The do not like hit and run players.

    I am a dealer in Las Vegas. We don't cheat! We keep to strict procedures, and those ensure an honest game. In the past, I'm sure that cheating did happen, but these days there is no need for it. Casinos make insane amounts of money simply with the built-in house edge. Why would they risk losing their license just to make a little bit more here and there? I have heard of dealers stealing from the casino, but they are fired, and turned over to law enforcement. However, casinos in Las Vegas do increase their profits with 6 to 5 blackjack, and triple zero roulette. Of course, as a player, you should avoid these, but most tourist don't know the difference, or they just want to play so they simply accept it.

You do have some, and you do talk about protecting bank roll and about danger in chasing bets to recover losses (progressive). Casinos don’t cheat very often. But they steal money from players by changing the rules to give them a higher advantage. Preferential shuffling has the same effect as using a short deck in the long run. That’s because all plus counts get shuffled away and negative counts get dealt down to the end, or at least to the shuffle card. Casinos use preferential shuffling discreetly by changing dealers, refilling the chip tray, or changing decks all during plus counts.

    I’ve been cheated in Vegas at New York, New York. Crazy story. Don’t know if Nevada Gaming was in on it or not, but when they sent me a letter explaining the payout was done correctly, nothing matched up with the scenario I described. It was as if they were shown security footage of a completely different hand. Cost me $1,000. In hindsight, I almost felt like the pit boss was in on it. But there’s also the small chance that it was an honest mistake, however, that doesn’t account for the Gaming Board not viewing the correct footage. So either two honest mistakes happened, or I was cheated. I lean towards the latter. Happened during a color up at the end of a winning session. Now I always pay more attention during color ups.

    For the most part they do not cheat, but against winning players who repeatedly come in and the house is starting to lose so many hands they figure they don’t have an edge, they will absolutely bring in a mechanic versus high limit advantage player, and they will ban them from the casino for frivolous reasons. I’ve seen in Vegas high limit rooms. That’s why most dealers come on here and say we don’t cheat, for the most part they don’t. But against high limit advantage players they absolutely play dirty. Same thing for winning sports bettors, I’ve personally seen them ban them for no reason saying they messed up a room when they didn’t. Claiming they broke something when they did not.

    I played one time in the early 80's at the Westward Ho in Vegas. Single deck Black Jack. Are cards were being delt face up including the dealers. I lost 20 hands in a row. I would suspect they had a cheating dealer, especially after I was warned not to play there again by another dealer I had meet in Vegas, who said she used to deal Black Jack there herself. The odds of losing 20 hands in a row is likely not very high mathematically for a pro, or even an average rated player.

    A little over 10 years ago, I was counting in an indian casino. They pulled the dealer-swap after less than 10 minutes (could have been legit, very normal). I went from mostly winning, to everything going wrong and odds just felt wrong. I paid attention to the dealer and saw him pull a card off the bottom on me. I was in a town where no one knew who or where I was, on a reservation with an indian dealer, and indian security. I decided it was just time to leave. I got up, cashed out, and left right then. That was the last time I ever dealt with those crooked indian casinos. I now only go to corporate casinos in Nevada where I know it is at least a straight game.

There's even less incentive to run a 'rigged' game as there's no real money involved and we want people to play all night, not just lose. But generally punters at these events don't have a clue how to play (taking cards on 17 against a 6 etc) and we still get the blame, just like a real casino 🤣

      Now they minimize the risk usually by adding more and more decks and shuffling them more regularly so card counting doesnt give you as much of an edge as you had before those changes, small enough for them not to care about it anymore.
      Cause even if you count cards, most dont and lose anyway. And even if blackjack would be a slight loss, lots of blackjack players go and play other games too where the house takes it back.
