I’m fair skinned and use sunblock. I get sunlight each morning, but I do not tan. I drink milk and eat yogurt and cheese almost daily. I’ve never had a vitamin D level below 50 nM/L. My last blood test showed 66 nM/L. I started taking K2 six months ago…MK7 to make sure the calcium goes into my bones, not in my arteries. Also supplement with magnesium L-threonate and a multivitamin. I follow a Mediterranean diet including fatty fish, walnuts, flaxseeds, cruciferous vegetables and dark greens. I trust that my diet helps. Dinner last night was bell peppers stuffed with grassfed ground beef and onions sautéed in avocado oil. It was delicious.

First of all, thanks for sharing great posts.
Vit D might be cheaper to buy, but what about its diagnostic test? The lab tests of vit D aren't cheap at all, but they come at a hogh cost. And ppl usually don't like to take vit d without knowing its level

So are you saying that, for example, a fair-skinned person who is quite pale at the beginning of the summer will get more Vitamin D from the sun than he would at the end of the summer when he has become quite tan? Or are you only saying that a person who is genetically darker skinned will get less Vitamin D from the sun compared to a person who is genetically lighter skinned?

I always added vitamin d test when doing people’s bloods and I would say about 90% were deficient. They stopped us doing it unless the person had certain risk factors, because everyone was deficient. I even had a gardener who had a low level. Maybe only the back of his neck got the sun! People are very reluctant to believe their aches, pains, insomnia, anxiety etc can be caused by these deficiencies, they feel it has to be something ‘more serious’. I tell people it is very serious.

Tell me doctor, who influences you and who influences other doctors?

Thanks for getting this lifesaving information out. I am 77 years old and I have taken all of the supplements that you list for the past 11 years. During this time I have had only two mild colds and one very mild case of covit-19. I am physically stronger and mentally sharper than I was 20 years ago. I try to keep my vitamin D level around 120 ng/ml but it has been above 150 ng/ml on several occasions with no problems. I believe that covid deaths in the US could have been reduced by more than 70% if only the CDC and the WHO had recommended that everyone take 8,000 to 10,000 ius of D3 daily during the pandemic. Because of my weight (210 lbs) and age, I take 20,000 ius of D3 daily.
