Well that’s a reach. As a long time Disney fan who happens to be black, I am so disappointed. No matter the history of Uncle Remus and Brer Rabbit, splash mountain was excellent in story and execution. And it is clear that the executive imagineers have no soul or connection with the characters. They made a ride through advert for a restaurant with amazing animatronics. This ride is a disappointment.

Disney has created a magical vortex that disintegrates most of the money that is thrown into it, while creating a massive force field to repell money from leaving pockets of their customers. It is not 100% in efficient, but it is very powerfull. It can turn 400 billion dollars into 200 billion dollars, it can turn 200 million movie into 60 million lost and it occationally spits 5% of the hired workforce of lesser departments to the street.
The fact that I found people saying Tiana's Bayou Adventure is worse than Superstar Limo restored my faith in humanity by 5%.
At least Superstar Limo was always a walk on and a chance to rest your leg and maybe a chance for a quick nap :)

Zippa de do don't... Disney once built an entire Haunted Mansion complete with 999 souls. They've managed to retheme an entire world class log flume with zero souls to be seen at all.
This whole ride feels like a Disney junior episode rather than an emotional thrill ride with an actually good story.

Are you gonna tell your 5 year old as they gaze on to that giant drop that “hey kid, there’s actually no story, conflict or fear in the storyline of that ride, you won’t be scared at all!” and your kids just gonna go “oh okay sweet, I’ll forget about that giant terrifying drop I’m staring at right now and ride it” You could argue Disney is for kids, sure, but at the end of the day not too many “kids” are going to be riding Tiana’s, both because of the height requirement and the intimidating view from the park path. It’s crazy to me they couldn’t incorporate a little fear and anxiety into the lead-up to the drop, it’s just one big bland party for 8 minutes.
They made a kiddie ride that has a height requirement. So kids can't ride, but preteen and teens can and won't want to.
I said it once and I’ll say it again, they should’ve just made a new Tiana ride and left splash Mountain as is because this is just hot garbage.

Splash mountain and brer bear, brer fox and brer rabbit were all based off of African folklore. In addition james Baskett was the first African American actor to recieve a Oscar for his performance as uncle Remus. I cannot believe disney bent the knee to the 1% of DEI. I will not be riding this and disney thinks that we should be offended by splash mountains characters. And charita carter should not be hired on any other projects anymore. To be accurate, Br'er Rabbit and the other characters are based on stories told by African-American slaves which were written in book form by white author Joel Chandler Harris. Br'er Rabbit is a direct interpretation of Yoruba tales of Hare. The Tar Baby is based on the African "gum doll" and unfortunately that term became a derogatory racial slur. Interesting to note that Harris stated that the Br'er Rabbit stories were written to "preserve in permanent shape those curious mementoes of a period that will no doubt be sadly misrepresented by historians of the future." How true that turned out to be. As the saying goes, those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it. We need to remember that slavery did happen in order to be aware of how wrong it was because it used and denigrated an entire race of people, so that not only will it never happen again, but also to make us realize how wrong racism is.
Also, Hattie McDaniel was the first African-American to win an Academy Award for her performance in Gone With The Wind.

I thought that schools and books teach slavery and why it's bad not rides at Disney world that make money. Keeping in mind that I had absolutely no idea that the ride taught about slavery until these comments. So they didn't really do a great job, did they?

They were trapped in a “woke” corner they painted themselves into. They created this abomination because they wanted to pander to what they falsely believed was the expectation of black Americans. So we get Tiana instead of Brer Rabbit, but not Princess Tiana. No no no, they couldn’t do that, because that would “reinforce gender stereotypes.” So they had to create a “girl boss” version of Tiana, which required creating a new storyline involving her running a socialistic business. Wow, that sounds entertaining, Splash Mountain as “reimagined” by the woke HR department.
The saddest thing is that the only ones truly pining for such a change were elitist white liberals in Disney’s C-suite, whose arrogance and paternalism toward black people led them to believe that if they demolished Splash Mountain and put a black character in its replacement, they would please them. How presumptuous and insulting.
The reality is that NO ONE, black, white, or otherwise, wanted to replace Splash Mountain, other than a tiny handful of far left college professors and a bunch of pretentious, clueles white liberals.

I already had problems with Disney land Paris from the Earth to the moon been changed twice the first time was the ok mission 2 but the second hyperspace mountain is a travisty and doesn't even match the areas Jules Verne theme that most agree is on the nicer end of Disney theming

I was shocked at how bad this looks. It's so half-assed. My husband said "I wouldn't even wait 5 minutes to ride this." They should have given Tiana her own new ride and restaurant, and put plaques with photographs in the queue for Splash Mountain honoring James Basket and the other black actors that voiced the characters. Then they would have 2 rides with African American representation.

Marvin is right. This was not giving Tiana a new ride. This was destroying “Song of the South.” The High Priestesses of Woke who run Disney wrongfully claim SotS is “racist.” It isn’t. And Ron is correct in that this was created to please the High Priestesses of Woke and literally no one else.
This was a terrible change. I'm not afraid to say it. It's awful. It's dark and empty and boring quite honestly. The "storyline" is weak. It's basically the Louis story. I don't dislike that character but he's not even top 3 for Princess and the frog characters. The music, though great for the movie, is NOT tempo for splash mountain. The whole shrinking you thing for the drop in the prior laughing place was underwhelming and falls flat. Too many TV screens not nearly enough animatronics. And not a single America sings animals at ALL?! They made a new bear and fox that look cheap and overly cartoonish. And the lead up to the drop...don't even get me started. The barn exterior doesn't say Louisiana to me..NONE of the exterior says Bayou. Hopefully Japan stands firm on changing theirs.

The current Disney management has absolutely NO respect for Walt Disney! By removing the masterpiece that was Splash Mountain and replacing it with this terrible... thing that has absolutely NOTHING to do with Disney, they have proven their utter contempt for that honored man. They are BLIND to the fact that without Walt, many of them would likely be cleaning toilets for a living (but that wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing because then at least they would be removing the manure rather than piling it high on the world). Perhaps Iger might have been able to manage a McDonald's, but in no way would he have ever had the personal success that he's had by inheriting the legacy of Walt.
Splash Mountain did what Walt required; make attractions that make people smile. Anyone can go to a robotics contractor and buy expensive animatronics for big bucks, but that does NOTHING to make a good attraction. The Disney art of Walt's time did not NEED expensive animatronics to make a great attraction. They had STORY, they had THEME, they had GOOD MUSIC, and it all worked to make the most excellent and amazing attractions that anyone had ever seen. This, this.. thing does NONE of that. The music is grating, the characters are undefined, there is NO story, the venue has NOTHING to do with the Princess and the Frog, and even that story was very mediocre and completely unworthy to bear the Disney name. Yes, they have great animatronics and some great artistry in the ride, but that's only like platters of silver carrying piles of manure. Everyone responsible for this DISASTER should be fired and banned from Disney, and the entire Disney management and creative staff should be replaced. Then a profound apology should be issued, this monstrosity should be torn down and Splash Mountain should be reinstated.
Iger the Terrible and his High Priestesses of Woke have purged the Walt Disney Company of its creative talent and replaced them with uncreative wokee lunatics. This is just so sad and so unnecessary.

Wow. I knew the retheme was going be bad the day it was announced, but I didn't know it would end up being This BAD. This mistake is an utter insult to Walt Disney, James Baskett, Tony Baxter, Marc Davis, and all the hard working Imagineers who put their heart and soul into the original Splash Mountain. Heck, It's even an insult to PATF Fans. This abomination of a retheme, the people calling the original ride and film "racist" and the history behind this whole ordeal from the movie to now is the textbook definition of the phrase "Don't make a mountain out of a molehill".

As a former contractor, though I never did rides, I know quite a few contractors and engineers that have done Disney jobs. None of them will work for Disney anymore because Disney won't let them advertise that they did anything for Disney. And Disney is not good about paying in a timely manner.
So since no contractors will work for you, you get a bunch of guys that don't have the experience or reputation to tell Disney imangineers that this won't work. Then you have a bunch of breakdowns.
Similar to the puck being installed upside down on Rise of the Resistance.

I see ride breakdowns in the first week with Disney's recent openings history from the sheer volume of pixie dusters and influencers getting their social media clout. Then it being closed for refurbishment causing more breakdowns.

The animatronic Tiana and the movie Tiana are 2 completely different characters.
There needs to be an organized “resistance movement” to this insanity. Maybe groups of people to all sing Zip-a-Dee-do-da in unison during the final scene, and then keep posting videos of it to social media to remind the masses of what has been taken from them.

It sucks!! 😝😝😝 How can you replace Brer Rabbit 🐇 with a food ride! There’s no storyline leading to the climax at least they should’ve added the villain to make it exciting. Whoever thought of this ride has no creativity whatsoever. They took away so much happiness away and didn’t care but then again that’s what Disney has done lately I hope it comes back and bites them in the a**!

Instead of spending money on this, spend the cash maintaining the rides that break down all the time: Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan, Spaceship Earth, etc. The lines are so long not only because of Genie+, but the rides breaking down all the time. Shameful for what they charge to get in.
A friend and I just got back from Disney. Thank you. While at Disney, Mickey & Minnie's roller coaster ride was broken half the time along with Slinky Dog. Test Track also had issues.

My wife and I use to go once or twice a year. Then it became absurd to spend the money and see the rides be “refurbished” and essentially end up worse than they were. Until major improvements we are done.
Further proof my wife and I made the right decision to cancel our trip to Disney World. We will just live on all the many years of past memories we have made there. Universal here we come.
Come to Universal Hollywood! We have a real movie studio here and a theme park! :D

I think this is almost as much a fail as the 50th anniversary opening day. I would never wait in line for this garbage let alone pay for Genie+ to ride it.
The nightmare have finally come and true as many of us predicted. This will be forever remembered as the worst ride of disney. For people love disney park, I feel sorry for them as Japan is the last magic park on earth. Disney already considers Princess and the Frog to be problematic and it's apparent. Tiana can't become a princess through marriage, she can't be turned into a frog, and she can't be helped by anyone. She must be independent and driven. They started with the spice theme and a literal salt mine, but that would have brought up an inconvenient history as well. So in their backwards twisted logic the only black disney princess they have, can no longer be a princess??! how progressive and forward thinking of them. This isn't a reskin of Splash Mountain, its a shoe horned reskin of Tiana's bayou Adventure.

Good lord this is bad….common sense would say of course they’re going to put money into this to fix it, it seems like the only option…but at every turn where Disney could have easily done the common sense play, they’ve done the opposite.
So boring. I really was willing to give this horrid floral makeover monstrosity a chance if it at least had a good story. This is shite.
First we were told that we were looking for a spice. Then this came out and now we’re looking for musicians. And then we got shrunken because we’re…looking for…insect musicians? And now we’re on the way to the party to be told that we were the missing spice all along, even though we threw that plot out? 🤦🏻♀️

My 4 year old likes Splash better. She didn’t even let us finish the video of the ride, made me put it on the original.
I know some families would get their kids excited/prepared for going to Disney and Universal by showing them all the movies for the IP attractions they plan to ride. I can imagine if any of these kids were shown "The Princess and the Frog" prior to riding this, they're going to be hella confused.
