I thought they kept the ride as is and merely changed the characters. How did they screw up bad enough that it doesn't run now?

    • @matthewzepess5721
      @matthewzepess5721 Месяц назад +27

Partially thinking they messed something up but what seems most likely is splash was an old ride, it was beloved by fans but not by the people paying for it physically. The lack of maintenance for about a year prior to closure, no use in a year, and absolutely no budget for actual maintenance is what brings us here. It’s like on a car disregarding your maintenance till everything’s falling apart and then you send it out for a fresh coat of paint on the outside that happens to take a year. Sure looks new, but the mechanicals are needing a small fortune.

@@lifequest7453 Correction: Theming has *_EVERYTHING_* to do with the ride. The re-theming necessitated the entire restructuring of the ride from top to bottom, beginning to end, from the pacing, the "story" structure, the placement of musical numbers throughout the ride-experience, the extreme difficulty involved in trying to adapt the film-story to a ride-experience it was never intended for, and finally the dubious/questionable (not to mention unnecessary & unasked-for) need to re-theme the attraction in the first place. So to reiterate: Theming has *_EVERYTHING_* to do with the ride. You literally cannot separate the two.

That’s really stretching things, but there are actually at least half a dozen of those in Louisiana with Avery Island (not strictly speaking an island but high ground practically surrounded by wetlands and some water) being the most famous. Are they implying that Tiana took over the company that makes Tabasco sauce? I have no idea what those people think of all this.
I think that Avery Island did have a salt mine. I don’t know how miserable it was. Salt mines, at least in cooler climates, aren’t that bad, with nearly constant mild temperatures more like those in caves. Some are used for long-term storage of documents. Of course, a fake salt mine at Disney could be quite uncomfortable.

Splash Mountain was a labor of love and top engineering. It requires loving maintenance. This shows that the core of the parks are now starting to rot. The original people who designed Disneyland / Disney World were Walt’s original teams he used in animation and movie making. Their ingenuity flowed downstream into the parks. There was a pedigree of excellence. With the trash their movie studios is producing, did no one think that trash would flow downstream to the parks?

Well as I grew up with walts parks, his creations were tied with Walt Disney animations, were fun and everyone enjoyed it.
The di$ney management began cashing in, and then the parks began to fade, just a bit, and it got worse.
Then it became obvious, that the di$ney execs were riding on the coat tales of the fame of the existing attractions, nothing new was becoming popular.
It was unnerving when di$ney began to buy out their competition. BUT they messed up when they told them they had to create in the mind of IGOR, it all began to fail.
With IGOR plan to buy POPULAR IP's and create a di$ney version to take over the entertainment industry, they should have had people that were creative that could do it, they didn't.
I suppose, sending an army of Pixie Dusters out to defend dI$ney was a plan, but it too failed as di$ney turned its back on them too.
The Galactic Star Cruiser, mirroring a failed attempt to retheme our old and loved STAR WARS, was priced to the moon and failed, a short and miserable life.
Trust me when I say I am being NICE here.
NOW the destruction of an iconic ride, SPLASH MOUNTAIN, for what, Tianas Sewage Plant with crappy animatronics. This is a true example of the state of di$ney imagineering.
The only reason anyone will go to this is to get into the Air Con, if it still works for those so breif minutes. This is a big fail and will continue to be until the company changes and comes with new creativity and loses the political messages.

Now that Tiana's Bayou is almost fully complete and operational its time to think of Disney's next big project. Turning Cinderella's Castle into Dylan Mulvaney's Castle. Transforming Fronteirland into the problematic slave trading port city of New Orleans and then break ground on whatever might go into the space past Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

Lmfao thanks for keeping it real 😂 so many Disney media fans are kissing up, they’re just fun to peak at the parks see what’s cooking with food.
I lost it when one guy said “oh yea those screens are a nice change” 😂🤧 in the laughing place haha.
I’m dumbfounded why this ride wasn’t turned into a country bear ride, would’ve made so much sense could’ve kept 95% of the animatronics. Tiana deserved her own ride with a modern track, not a re theme over a nearly 40 year old track.

I've seen video of people riding it and IMO its "meh". And it's called "Tiana's Bayou Adventure, so my question is where exactly is the "adventure?" I saw videos screens of the fireflies, and only Tiana, Louis and Mama Odie make an appearance. There were two of my favorite characters that were completely ignored from the movie. Raymond and Dr. Facilier. One of my favorite songs in the cartoon was "Friends on the other side." The "adventure" should have included Tiana facing off against him in some way. Also having spent some time in New Orleans, their representation of the city was underwhelming. Also, you'd think they would actually work out all of the kinks BEFORE it opens. But then again, its Disney we're talking about.

why didn't they just expand the damn park, they have plenty of land and it could have actually looked like a swamp!

Ironic how a retheme based on New Orleans has no soul

Have a family member who is a cast member, their ride made it to the final scene and they were evacuated. They received the popsicle.
