LEO in a major city here. I still recommend LoJack. Many of our patrol cars as well as our helicopters are equipped with LoJack trackers that automatically alert us when we’re close to a stolen vehicle. It gives us make, model, color, tag, and VIN, and updates distance and direction from us in real time. I’ve recovered several stolen cars and bikes over the years by just driving around the city on a slow night. Also, in my experience, dirt bikes and dual sports are by far stolen the most.

Great video! After my Grom was stolen, I bought into this GPS tracker for my HD Iron 883 and I'm loving it. And like you said, very affordable. I think well worth it in the long run.
I purchased a '20 Harley softail and beside the theft deterrents it came equipped with I purchased a disk lock and full coverage ins. The last two I fully rely on.
I have one of these (other brand) on my truck and I absolutely love it! I'm able to stop the engine remotely and do a lot of tracking stuff like watch the rute, know if broke the speed limit and more. Even if the thief stoles my phone, I'm able to send a SMS with other phone and stop the engine or track the location
Some time back i watched a documentary about motorcycle and scooter theft in London. street gangs steal like crazy over there. This tip is comming from a guy from one of the gangs. He says that the best thing you can do is to cover up your motorcycle. If they are not able to see what they are potentially stealing, they will not bother. They do not know if the bike has an alarm, if it is chained etc. If your bike is covered they will take the oncovered one next to it instead..
Just got my bike back from a recovered theft, after it was being repaired for 4 months since the thief damaged the shit out of it. Definitely taking these precautions going forward.

I use an extremely heavy duty disclock and monimoto tracker when out. Keep my bikes chained together with heavy duty chains in the garage because I have seen neighbors garages get broken into. As a last resort they are all insured. Not much else to do.

Very good information there Blockhead, GPS Tracker and Disc Locks for sure. Also in the garage I use video and if you have a single car garage there is the Guardsman Security Barrier.
I've had two bikes stolen. And that is why I gave up on bikes for almost 13 years. One) was stolen out of my house, the bike was lock with disk locks and a chain and they still managed to take. Second bike) I was riding the bike on a small street, I had just bought the bike and was getting the feel of the bike before heading out for a real ride on the street. Two guys pulled up on me with a gun and literally pulled me off the bike at gun point and road off. That was it for me and bikes I was done. Until earlier this year when my friend tried to get me back into motorcycles again.
Great primer on motorcycle theft. A side note: Most (if not all) insurance companies give you a discount if you have an anti-theft device on the bike. My '03 Heritage has had the anti-theft device since it was new and I've never had a problem (though the device has never gone off) and I've stayed at many hotels, some of them kinda seedy. Just lucky I guess. Ride on.
This is absolutely true and a great little known fact. Some of our customers have told us the tracker paid for itself in insurance discounts. It varies enormously from insurer but it's really worth asking about.
I live on the 3rd floor in the UK and have to leave my bike in a open car park. I use a disc lock with an Oxford chain and lock for the front and a heavy ass chain and lock for the back. From the front I chain that bad boy to my neighbours car wheel, then cover it and a loud alarm 😁
