Loved this. Coming from someone who (thankfully) has never had addiction issues and has never tampered with drugs of any kind, I find it fascinating hearing how brave these people are - also gives me a huge amount of awareness and empathy into what people go through when they’re suffering like this.

Wow, this lad is a massive inspiration to come through what he has at such a young age, he should be going into schools and telling his story. I watch your podcast without fail, every week, Dan. I know its aimed at lads but so many of us woman lived the same life and it has helped so much to hear your story and all your guests. There is a coke epidemic in this country, I can have it delivered to my door quicker than a Pizza which is insane. Lads like this can really help by telling their stories especially to youngsters before they even try it.

Glad I stumbled on this channel. Literally came back from Benidorm 2 weeks ago, decided there of all places half way through the holiday that I just can't keep drinking and seshing, im at the start of my journey but nethertheless Im on the journey. So many fall outs with family, friends, fucked up oppurtunities and work for beer and gear. The "nothing else to do" part in this hits home hard, I always said this, i'm looking to book some day trips hiking and getting in the gym for a healthy mind and body, i'm nearly 32 so feel I still have time to fix things. Wish me luck!

After watching this episode I realized not everyone has the same mind. I related so much to this that I decided it's not my fault I'm like this but with help I can beat it. I'm on my way and alot of it is down to watching this. So after 10 hours sleep and money in my pocket I'm up early and ready for work. Thanks Dan and your helping people more than u will ever know x

The fact this podcast gets people without a big following, or degree’s in mental health/addiction, etc involved really separates it from any other podcast. When using, I only saw the differences but today marks 4 months clean and all I see is the similarities. My only recommendation would be for Dan to get himself into the rooms of a 12 step programme. Explore AA, CA and NA to see what works for you. Keep up the work 💪

225 days sober, no regrets but of course I would change the fact I wasted loads of my life if I could (female, not that young) this is a fab example of how it takes massive courage & bravery to 1, accept our lifestyles are in dire need of change, 2 admit this to Ourselves & others & then 3 - actually do something about it.... absolute RESPECT to Harry & anyone else who manages it. As for the message you mention Dan (re the gimp messaging about you can't handle it bla bla bullshit) be interesting if the real world could see the state of his life - health (mental & physical) wealth, relationships etc etc etc while your here loud & proud improving every aspect of yours and, encouraging & helping others improve theirs. While I didn't/don't use the traditional recovery support myself I'm not knocking it but it's fair to say there are plenty more out there these days... they are not all about steps - although loads of us find out we end up doing some of them organically (accept, admit, apologise to those we need or want to) I ain't about any God, higher power etc & someone once told me to google Hola Sober. For Men & for Women, all ages all stages - completely free (& I do mean free) very much for the realists out there who ended up sick of their own bullshit as I was. It's all well & good those who have the dollar for rehab but we know that's not the majority, & once out, you are back to fending for yourself.... no matter who helps, what recovery programme/rehab etc etc there is only one way to maintain sobriety & that's by taking one day at a time - literally one moment sometimes & listening & when were ready, talking to people who are going through the exact same shizz. These podcasts will be changing & saving lives, make no mistake about that & F the haters... at a time when the whole "be kind" thing & mental health (mens especially) is finally getting the message out there that it's okay not to be okay & good to talk etc etc, battling & facing & overcoming addiction (no matter to what) is huge. (Sorry for the long post, massive subject super close to my heart not only cos I had to get a grip re booze but I have not one but two dead boyfriends who I wish could have overcome their vices)

I can relate to everything you and your guests say on these podcasts.
I'm almost certain I have ADHD, I absolutely have a ridiculously addictive personality, however for me it's my hobbies. I rarely drink and never do drugs but I'm aware that I could easily get addicted if I do.
I've had anxiety issues in the past, mostly because of money because I've over spent and skipped work to do my hobbies.
I'd love to just quit or do things in moderation but I just can't. If I decide to go in, I go all fucking in and it becomes my focus 24/7, however I am good at what I do but I'm afraid to admit the lengths I'll go to get to where I'm at with them.

ADHD fixation on things combined with zero impulse control means spending goes through the roof. I managed to blow £300 building an enclosure and stuff for my kids £11 hamster. The end result is great but there’s always that internalised guilt like why have I just spent that much for a fucking hamster that lives 2 years.
