    Thanks guys literally just had a massive argument with the mrs and went straight to the pub and was about to to drink (303 days sober) just starting listening to this had a non alcoholic Heineken and a lime soda instead and drove home once I calmed down. Been struggling with sobriety lately and getting depressed again. I’m glad I didn’t drink

      I’ve been exactly where you are Joe. I spoke to a therapist who always encouraged me to not beat myself up. One relapse does not mean 2 years wasted, it means another lesson learned and to get straight back on the horse. You can definitely do it

    Dan this has to be one of the best yet. A normal football loving bloke like myself saying it how it is. One thing I struggle with is the conversations and being honest with friends and loved ones, but slowly realising that being honest is so freeing. Got some good sober time under my belt and these podcasts are my main motivation cheers mate

    I’m trying. I really am. 26 and I’ve done a sober stint from alcohol and coke before to save my life.
    I’m very much back in the thick of it and I’ve not told the people closest to me as I lost all respect from them the first time. I can’t jeopardise that again.
    Im praying that I can handle this by myself this time and stop the ticking time bomb. It truly is painfully lonely.
    You’re helping me have the motivation to do better for myself. Thank you Dapper. If it means anything to you, I’m happy that you’re here and spending your time to help others. 1 in a million.
    Good luck everyone.

    We have to remember that it's not all about us! We are not the centre of the universe and people are concerned with their own stuff! We take ourselves out of the equation and think of others instead. I used to be so conscious of self and I wasted so much of my life and energy. Step out of self and realise we are not that important in the scheme of things. I hope that helps. Cx

    I feel it’s the the unwinding during a session. As life is mostly shit for us, the government are ruining the country and putting the prices so high. So when we get a chance it’s beer that comes to mind.

    It’s great that they’re talking about the issues around addiction but I really don’t think they actually reached rock bottom (no offence)as a lot of people do cause dan and people he’s had on still had a lot around them what they didn’t lose which is a credit to them they saw it and sorted them selves out before it got to that point
    But I think Dan needs someone who’s been to the depths of addiction like waking up in the morning and rattling and craving they’ll do absolutely anything for their fix and hear how they turned it all around 21:00

    • @kaattiiex

    • @giatasha2181
      @giatasha2181 Год назад +1

      I would think at 74 you might have come accross the saying if you have nothing good to say say nothing? People are so cruel needlessly on the internet. Imagine reading something like this about yourself or one of your children? Be kind! Reflect on the purpose you intended for this comment. Reflect on why you feel the need to say this kind of stuff and who does it serve?
